Jennifer Lopez has announced a new Las Vegas residency, 'Up All Night Live in Las Vegas.' The 12-date run will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, beginning December 30th.
This is Lopez's first Las Vegas stint since her 'All I Have' residency, which ran from 2016 to 2018. 'All I Have' is one of the highest-grossing residencies of all time, bagging nearly $102 million over 120 shows. Given the success of that residency, 'Up All Night Live in Las Vegas' marks Lopez's much-anticipated return to the Strip.

The 'Up All Night Live in Las Vegas' residency will be Lopez's first live North American headlining shows since her 'It's My Party' tour in 2019. Lopez was set to hit the road for 'This is Me… Now The Tour' last year, but she canceled the world tour to spend time with her family.
The residency comes after Lopez's 'Up All Night Live' international tour dates in the Middle East and Europe. 'Up All Night Live in Las Vegas' will start with a bang with four shows on New Year's week. Lopez will continue with eight shows in March 2026.

Alf Clausen, The Simpsons' Longtime Composer, Dead at 84

The post Alf Clausen, The Simpsons' Longtime Composer, Dead at 84 appeared first on Consequence. Alf Clausen, the longtime composer of The Simpsons who scored more than 560 episodes of the animated series, had died at the age of 84. Clausen died after a decade-long battle with Progressive Supernuclear Palsy (PSP). A two-time Emmy Award winner with 30 additional nominations, Clausen provided the music for The Simpsons for 27 years, composing a unique piece each week accompanied by a 35-piece orchestra. In a cost-cutting measure, Fox fired Clausen in 2017, leading the composer to sue the network for ageism and disability discrimination two years later. He later dropped the suit, and Simpsons producers recognized in later seasons as 'composer emeritus.' 'I think that's one of the reasons they've kept me all these years: they were looking for somebody who could score all those different types of music in small clip-form,' Clausen reflected in a 2017 interview with Consequence. 'That's what's been fun for me. I think that anyone else who would have been hired for this job and stayed for this long would have gone to the nuthouse.' Clausen also composed music for the television series ALF, and well contributed to films like The Naked Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Weird Science. What Taylor Swift buying her masters means for her — and the music industry

By now, we know all too well about the power of Taylor Swift. With her epic Eras Tour alone, the pop superstar went from crashing Ticketmaster to boosting the economy in every city she visited to going around the movie studio system for its theatrical concert film. But Swift's latest power move may be her biggest one yet: The 'Anti-Hero' singer finally bought back the master recordings of her first six studio albums — from her 2006 self-titled debut to 2017's 'Reputation.' Advertisement 4 'All I've ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright,' wrote Taylor Swift in a letter to fans about getting her masters back. taylorswift/Instagram In 2019, Scooter Braun gained control of Swift's masters after he acquired her former label, Big Machine Records, which owned the rights. After attempts to buy back her catalog from Braun failed, Swift began re-recording her albums and releasing 'Taylor's Versions' of them, beginning with 'Fearless' and 'Red' in 2021 and then 'Speak Now' and '1989' in 2023. Then, in 2020, Braun turned around and sold Swift's Big Machine catalog to Shamrock Capital for reportedly over $300 million. Advertisement Five years later, though, Swift's music is now back where it belongs. 'All the music I've ever made … now belongs … to me,' she wrote in a letter to fans on her website. 'Every single era. My entire life's work.' Now, Swift's first six studio LPs have joined her last five recorded for Republic Records under her ownership. 4 Taylor Swift described buying the masters of her first six studio albums as 'my greatest dream come true.' taylorswift/Instagram Advertisement 'To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it,' she continued. 'All I've ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy.' In an Instagram post proudly displaying her albums, Swift simply wrote, 'You belong with me.' It's a boss move that few in the music business — or any other entertainment field — could pull off, but Swift has the big bucks to do it, reportedly paying around $360 million, according to Billboard. 4 Taylor Swift hand-wrote a letter to fans on her website about the importance of getting her masters back. Taylor Swift Advertisement But it's the principle that probably mattered more to Swift than the money. She had already convinced her legions of Swifties to buy and stream the re-recorded versions of her first six albums, effectively devaluing her original masters. In fact, fans were hoping that she would announce the 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' release at Sunday's American Music Awards. 'Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it,' she wrote in her letter while revealing that she has already re-recorded all of 2006's 'Taylor Swift.' Swift had started a movement with other artists such as Demi Lovato, Paramore and 98 Degrees following her lead. She even forced record labels to rework and rethink contracts to put stricter limits on re-recordings. 4 Before making her latest power move, Taylor Swift wrapped her epic Eras Tour last December in Vancouver. Getty Images for TAS Rights Management But for Swift, that wasn't enough. At a time when many artists are selling their catalogs for major money — from Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan to Katy Perry and Justin Bieber — ownership meant everything to her. This was personal. And while it's not something that every act can afford or demand, it certainly makes a strong statement about the fundamental right of being in charge of the music that you create. For Swift, you can't really put a price on it — and she couldn't just shake it off. As a woman especially, Swift felt bullied by the men in the industry who didn't take her seriously enough and sought to control her. She took a stand against them that, with her enormous influence, greatly impacted and emboldened her largely female fan base. Advertisement As a businesswoman, Swift has always been savvy. And now this will be as much a part of her legacy as becoming the first artist to win four Album of the Year Grammys. She's in her Ownership Era now.

Shakira concert canceled in Washington DC a day after nixed show in Boston

Shakira concert canceled in Washington DC a day after nixed show in Boston Show Caption Hide Caption Shakira cancels Boston concert hours before showtime Hours before doors opened, ticket seller Live Nation announced that the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn concert had been cancelled. Cover Media A day after her Boston concert was canceled, Shakira's tour is suffering another setback. The popstar's scheduled show in Washington, D.C. — which was part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour and WorldPride DC 2025's Welcome Concert — on May 31 has also been canceled. The reasoning was "due to complications with the previous show in Boston," according to a statement released by Nationals Park May 30. "Shakira's full tour production cannot be transported to Washington, D.C. in time for her scheduled performance," the statement read. "As a result, the D.C. show has been canceled. Despite every effort to make it happen, it is not possible to move forward as planned." Ticketholders will automatically receive refunds for Ticketmaster and purchases. Those who purchased from a third party should contact the seller. Shakira shared a statement about her heartbreak over the show's cancellation, writing, "Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am sad and heartbroken that I will not be able to be in Washington, D.C. with you tomorrow. I hope that I can come back to D.C., as soon as I am able. "Meanwhile, please know that I am eternally thankful for your unconditional support." Why Shakira's Boston concert was canceled In a May 30 statement to USA TODAY, Live Nation said the cancelation of several shows at Fenway Park was due to issues discovered during routine checks before the Shakira show. "Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe," the statement said. The issue also affected upcoming shows from Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn. Shakira is next scheduled to perform in Atlanta June 2. The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour kicked off in South America in February and began its North American leg May 13. Opening up about the work that went into the tour, Shakira recently told USA TODAY, "I've worked so much on every detail of this show. I'm building the biggest setlist of my career. "There are going to be visuals I created, the narrative and the details of them. There are 145 people on this tour to make it happen every night," she explained. "I've created original music for the transitions in the show, new choreography and arrangements. I have 13 costume changes, so all of what I've learned these years of making music, I feel like this is a recap of that journey." Contributing: Anthony Robledo and Melissa Ruggieri, USA TODAY
