The monster, 49, then targeted his 18-year-old son Jake Brown when the youngster heroically tried to pull Brown off Jo.
He also stabbed his partner's dog Tilly multiple times before battering Jo to death with a baseball bat.
Brown then turned his attention to neighbour Teohna Grant, 24, after bursting into her home.
When her boyfriend Bradley Latter desperately tried to help her, he was also stabbed during the horror on December 25 last year.
Brown then left Teohna with five fatal sharp force injuries - including a deep wound to the neck - before he fled the gruesome scene in his car.
The double killer made a string of chilling remarks to police, telling officers: "Not self-defence, murder. It's plain murder."
He also described his chilling actions as him going "bloody loony".
The monster has now been jailed for life after pleading guilty to two counts of murder and attempted murder.
Brown also admitted possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a Staffordshire bull terrier.
The court heard he has 10 previous convictions for 15 separate offences - including attacking a former partner for which he was convicted in 2009.
Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC told the court: "The evidence suggests that the assaults were wholly unprovoked, committed by the defendant whilst he was under the influence of cocaine."
The horror unfolded at around 6.30pm on Christmas Day inside in a flat in the Bletchley area of Milton Keynes.
Brown and Jo had been in an "unhealthy" relationship for several years, with both taking Class A drugs and the pair regularly heard arguing by neighbours.
Jake had visited the flat on Christmas Day when Brown became "suspicious", the court heard.
Ms Heer said: "The defendant then picked up a screwdriver and a kitchen knife from the table in the living room and approached Pearson, who asked him what he was doing and tried to walk away.
"Without saying a word, he began to stab her with the knife repeatedly in a frenzied attack.
"Jake Brown tried to pull his father away from her, only for the defendant to turn to him and stab him in the chest."
The teen, who described his dad as completely expressionless" as he attacked them, then hid in the bathroom to call police.
He later described the scene like "watching a horror film" as Brown burst into the bathroom and hit him with the bat.
The killer then went into the communal landing to the flat next door, where Teohna and her partner were sitting in the living room enjoying a quiet Christmas day.
Brown stabbed both victims multiple times with a "blank" face, Ms Heer said.
Teohna was seen by a neighbour on the balcony of her flat clutching her throat and screaming: "Help! I can't breathe".
Police discovered Brown's DNA on a baseball bat in the kitchen and knife recovered from his car.
Blood from some of the victims was also found on his trainers and clothing.
Following his arrest, Brown said: "Oh Jesus, what happened tonight What happened tonight, boy? Pure f***ing madness. Pure madness.
"I've gone f***ing crazy guys. Just gone crazy."
In a victim impact statement read in court, Teohna's partner said: "We both thought of you as our neighbour and close friend for a number of years.
"The impact your crimes have had on me are never-ending. My whole world and future was heinously taken away by you."
While Jo's mum Susan Pearson said: "We can only imagine how horrific her final moments were at the hands of Jazwell Brown.
"Our own wellbeing has also been seriously compromised. Our faith in humanity has been seriously rocked. We don't think we will ever understand."
Lawyer Celia Mardon of the Crown Prosecution Service said: 'Our thoughts today are with Jo and Teohna's families and loved ones who have suffered such unimaginable loss.
'We worked closely with Thames Valley Police to build a case to secure justice for all of those affected by Jazwell Brown's inexplicable and violent actions.
'Compelling evidence in our case included the accounts of eyewitnesses which were supported by forensic evidence.
"Given the overwhelming evidence against him, Brown admitted to his crimes, thankfully sparing the victims' families and friends the ordeal of a trial.
"We hope that today's sentence helps them in some small way to find the strength and support they need as they continue on their path towards healing.'

‘Cocaine-fuelled' knifeman killed partner and neighbour on Christmas Day

Brown then made his way across the communal landing to the flat next door, where Mr Latter and Ms Grant, who had left their door unlocked, were sitting in the living room enjoying a quiet Christmas Day, the court heard. The defendant then stabbed both victims multiple times with a 'blank' face, Ms Heer said. After leaving the second flat, Brown then fled the scene in his car, forcing his way through police officers trying to stop him, before driving off without switching his headlights on. His car was eventually brought to a halt by armed police in Milton Keynes, with a bloodstained knife found on the passenger seat and spots of Ms Pearson's and Mr Latter's blood found on his trainers, the court heard. While in a cell following his arrest, Brown made the unsolicited comment that he had 'gone f------ crazy', before later saying: 'Not self-defence. Murder. It's plain murder, not self-defence. Murder.' Mr Justice Kerr sentenced Brown to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 39 years for each of the murders, with the sentences to run concurrently. He also handed down 21 years' and 18 years' imprisonment for the attempted murders of Mr Latter and Jake Brown respectively, an 18-month sentence for possession of a knife in a public place and a nine-month sentence for causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, all to run concurrently.

Tragically, a man was pronounced dead at the scene after the fire. A 27-year-old man and eight-year-old both had to be taken to hospital for treatment while two firefighters were also injured. Engineers who were called in to check the building have said the damage from the fire is so severe the building has to be completely demolished. Several residents are being housed in temporary accommodation with the council urging any private landlords or AirBnb owners with space to get in touch. Perth and Kinross Deputy Leader, Councillor Eric Drysdale, said: 'Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the person who tragically lost their life in this terrible incident, and with all the other people affected. 'Since the fire, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland and Council staff have been on site to ensure the safety of the wider public. 'On Saturday June 14 a structural engineering contractor was brought in to assess the damage caused to the building at 41 Scott Street. 'Their report outlined devastating damage to the whole building. "The structure has been made unsafe and no part of it is salvageable. As things stand, the building is a serious risk to health and safety. Spanish cops insist hitman who executed Ross Monaghan & Eddie Lyons Jr killer WAS member of rival Daniel clan 'Unfortunately, this means that the whole building will require complete demolition. This will be an extremely complex process, and specialist demolition contractor Reigart has been appointed to carry out the task. Preliminary work has already begun on site. 'The building will require careful demolition from the top, down to ground level and this will take some time to complete. It is estimated that the work could take around 24 weeks, but it is possible that it could be concluded earlier if there are no complications. 'To allow the work to be carried out safely, pedestrian and traffic access to sections of Scott Street and South Street around the site will remain closed. "We appreciate that this will cause continued significant disruption in Perth City Centre, but unfortunately this is unavoidable given the situation we face.' Several people living around the building have also been forced to leave their homes while it is torn down, with some unable to return for more than four months. 9 Fire crews at the scene in Perth on Saturday Credit: Stuart Cowper 9 A major probe is underway into the cause of the blaze Credit: Dave Johnston 9 People living nearby have also been forced to leave their homes Credit: Stuart Cowper Some living and working nearby will be out of their homes and businesses for up to 16 weeks while others won't be able to return until the building has been demolished. Others living on the edge of the cordon will be out of their homes for a short period of time. New temporary bus routes are being brought in and road closures on Scott Street and South Street will be introduced while work is carried out on the dangerous building. Red Cross volunteers have also been drafted in to support locals whose homes were destroyed in the blaze. Eleanor Stack, British Red Cross Operations Lead for Crisis Response, said: 'It is extremely distressing to be evacuated from your home. Everyone experiences emergencies differently, and needs vary based on individual circumstance. "The British Red Cross is helping people at hotels, working with other local partners, to help make sure support is in place. Pub closed for good after blaze THE Royal Bar was a pub on the ground floor of the building destroyed by the blaze. Its owners have revealed they will be closing down for good after the news the whole structure will need torn down. A message on social media thanked their customers for their years of loyalty. It read: "We at the royal bar can confirm that our beloved pub will be closed for good with the horrendous fire on Saturday morning. "We wish to say thank you to every single one of you who has walked through the doors of The Royal throughout the years. "We've had some great times throughout the years with with banter from everyone who has graced the pub. "We are going to miss you all so much. "We are all gutted it has come to an end like this. "Once again we thank you for the support over the years "Our emergency response volunteers are specially trained to help people if they need to talk. "Volunteers are also checking people have everything they need, be that clothing or toiletries and anything else they require to make them feel more comfortable.' Major probe underway A major probe is currently underway to find out the cause of the fatal blaze, with cops and fire investigators appealing for anyone with information. A temporary airspace restriction over the fire scene has been introduced, with people being told they cannot fly drones over Scott Street and South Street until 1pm tomorrow. Chief Superintendent Nicola Russell, Divisional Commander for Tayside said: 'Our thoughts remain with all those impacted by this fire. 'Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the cause of the fire and we would like to thank the local community for their co-operation and support and officers remain in the area. 'Road closures and cordons remain in place to ensure safety and allow enquiries to be carried out. 'We are reviewing CCTV and speaking to residents and I would appeal for anyone with any information which could assist to contact us.' Can you help the families made homeless by this fire? SEVERAL families have been made homeless by the fire on Scott Street and many others will need accommodation after being forced to evacuate their homes during the demolition. These people will be provided with alternative suitable housing, as well as any other support they need at this difficult time. To assist with the rehousing effort, the Council is asking any local landlords or AirBnB owners to get in touch with us if they have accommodation that is currently available. They can contact our Housing Team by emailing privatesectoraccess@ Councillor Drysdale added: 'The people of Perth and local businesses have responded to this sad event with huge compassion and generosity. It has been heartening to see our local community pull together to help people at their time of greatest need. 'We would appreciate everyone's ongoing co-operation and understanding as we deal with this difficult situation. 'We understand that the disruption to the city centre will bring frustrations, but we are committed to completing the work as soon as we can and most importantly, to continue support for the people and businesses who have been directly affected by the fire. 'I would once again like to pay tribute to our emergency services for their continued excellent response to this incident, as well as to the wide range of Council and Health and Social Care Partnership staff who rose to a significant challenge over the weekend to provide all the support and help that they could. "I also want to pass on my sincere gratitude to the staff at the Salutation Hotel and Red Cross volunteers, who have been superb in working with us to make sure that people affected had the care they needed in the aftermath of the fire.'

Scots cops deny Spanish force claims of ‘Daniel clan link' to Monaghan and Lyons murders

Spanish top brass insist the suspect in the double killing is 'an internal member of the rival Daniels gang' AT ODDS SQUADS Scots cops deny Spanish force claims of 'Daniel clan link' to Monaghan and Lyons murders Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SCOTTISH cops are standing by their assertion the murders of Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr are unconnected to gangland violence here - hours after Spanish investigators said the opposite. Police Scotland issued a statement hours after a press conference in Malaga during which top brass insisted the suspect in the double killing is "an internal member of the rival Daniels gang". Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 The moment caught on CCTV a shooter storms Monaghans bar in Fuengirola. 4 Murdered crime clan duo Eddie Lyons Jnr and Ross Monaghan. The stunning claims made this morning by investigators in Spain appeared to be in direct conflict with an earlier statement by Scots cops that they had 'no intelligence" to indicate the plot was hatched here. The murders of the two Lyons gang kingpins in Monaghan's Bar, Fuengirola, on Saturday, May 31, came after months of gangland violence across Scotland's two biggest cities. The chaos has been blamed by underworld sources on Dubai-based Ross 'Miami' McGill whose group Tamu Junto has claimed responsibility for targeting associates of caged Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson, 38, and members of the Daniel crime family. That resulted in fears the brutal assassinations of Monaghan, 43, and Lyons, 46, was an act of retaliation by mobsters with Daniel clan connections. But we told how Police Scotland and a relatives of Monaghan had ruled out that theory amid claims the execution was carried out by another mob not connected to Scotland. In a statement issued this evening, Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston said : "We have been assisting Spanish colleagues with their investigation into the fatal shootings in Fuengirola. "We are not aware of any current evidence which suggests the deaths of these two men in Spain are linked to the recent criminal attacks in Scotland being investigated as part of Operation Portaledge. "We are aware of the statement from the Spanish Police and although we cannot comment on an ongoing investigation in another jurisdiction, our position remains that we have no current evidence to suggest that this incident was orchestrated from Scotland. "We are aware of the arrest of an individual in the Merseyside area and will continue to support colleagues in Spain where necessary and if required by them. " However, Spanish investigators today stated with some conviction a Daniel clan associate was their number one suspect. We told earlier how Mr Pedro Agudo Novo - head of the provincial Judicial Police unit - said: 'The double murder was carried out by a professional killer and member of one of the victims' rival gangs. 'In this case we're not talking about an independent hired killer but an internal member of the rival Daniels gang who ends up assassinating two members of an enemy gang." The Scottish Sun then put those comments to Police Scotland who today stood firmly behind their earlier stance that the killings are not the work of a Scots-based mob. We told how suspect Michael Riley, 44, from Merseyside, was arrested in Liverpool on Friday before appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday. Ross Monaghan - From Glasgow street thug to running with Global cartel bosses The double-murder suspect was remanded in custody during the brief hearing. Lawyers acting for Riley didn't make a bail application ahead of a second court date on Thursday when the alleged hitman is due to appear via video link. The court heard Riley was 'likely to abscond' if given his liberty while facing such grave allegations. The serious nature of the offences he faces was noted in the decision to remand Riley who is the subject of an extradition warrant by Spanish authorities over the murders of the Scots duo. Career criminal Monaghan - who fled Scotland for Spain after a failed attempt on his life in 2017 - was tried but acquitted over the murder of notorious Glasgow hood Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll at an Asda car park in 2010. In August 2017 he and Eddie Lyons Jr, both members of the Lyons Glasgow crime family, were cleared of being involved in a brutal street attack on three men outside the Campsie bar in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire. 4 Associates of caged mob boss Mark Richardson have been under attack since March. 4 Ross 'Miami' McGill has been waging a gang war over claims of a drug deal con. Their deaths come amid an ongoing turf war in Scotland that's resulted in 45 arrests as part of Police Scotland's Operation Portaledge. Dubai-based former Union Bear McGill, 31, of East Kilbride, is said to have launched the campaign of violence after he was ripped off by associates of Richardson who used fake notes in a £500,000 cocaine deal.
