Awqaf ministry prepares 710 mosques, praying areas for Eid Al Adha prayers
DOHA: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced that it has prepared 710 prayer areas and mosques all over the country for worshippers, ahead of Eid prayers.
The Ministry of Endowments said that the Eid Al Adha prayer for the year 1446 on the Hijri calendar will take place at 4.58am.
The Ministry ensured that the mosques and praying areas covered the biggest geographic areas, so they are close to all the state's different areas, making the prayer easier for everyone.

The festival, running from June 6-9, honours the Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to obey God's command that he sacrifice his only son Ismail, ignoring the devil's attempts to dissuade him from the act. The devil appeared before Ibrahim three times, but the prophet responded by throwing stones, driving him away. As he was about to kill his son, God stayed his hand and spared his son, giving him a lamb to sacrifice instead. The 'Feast of Sacrifice' is traditionally marked by the slaughter of an animal, typically a goat, sheep, cow, bull or camel, with the meat shared among neighbours, family members and the poor. The start of the event coincides with the final rites of the annual Hajj, the once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, observed by adult Muslims. In remembrance of Ibrahim's resistance to Satan, pilgrims at Hajj participate in a symbolic 'stoning of the devil' at the Jamarat complex in Mina, near Mecca. The stoning ritual takes place at the three spots where it is said the devil tried to dissuade Ibrahim from obeying God, represented by three concrete walls. Pilgrims collected their pebbles overnight on Thursday from Muzdalifah, an area located a few kilometres away from Arafat, a hill outside the city of Mecca with great spiritual significance. On Friday, an estimated 1.6 million-plus pilgrims stoned the devil, throwing their pebbles at the concrete walls in Mina. For some, the ritual marks a solemn moment – a complete submission to God. For others, it represents a victory over evil.

QC set to accept Udhiyah donations until sunset on day 4 of Eid Al-Adha
Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Charity (QC) continues to receive donations for the Udhiyah project as part of the Dhul-Hijjah Campaign for the 1446 AH—2025 season, which was launched under the theme 'Greatest Days'. Donations can be made through Qatar Charity's website and mobile application, at its branches, or through its collectors across the country until shortly sunset on the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha. Qatar Charity urged benevolent citizens and residents to continue donating to the campaign to provide meat to the needy and the underprivileged and bring joy to them on Eid Al-Adha. Donations are accepted through Qatar Charity's branches and its collectors in malls and commercial centres until midnight of Eid (12:00 AM on the Day of Arafat). Then, collection points of Qatar Charity in shopping malls and its various branches will continue to accept donations from the second day of Eid al-Adha until shortly before sunset on the fourth day of Eid. Qatar Charity invites donations to the campaign. Contributions can be made conveniently through Qatar Charity's website [ Also, a 'Home Collector' can be requested through the app ( in addition to dialling 44920000 for this purpose. Furthermore, benefactors can donate at Qatar Charity's branches, as well as at its collection points in the commercial complexes. Qatar Charity's Adahi project, supported by generous donors, plans to distribute meat from around 45,300 sheep and cattle across 40 countries, including Qatar, reaching over 850,000 people in need. The project will focus on crisis-affected countries and regions such as Syria, Palestine, including Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia. In Qatar, Qatar Charity's Adahi project will distribute sacrificial meat from 4,000 sheep to around 30,000 individuals, spreading the joy of Eid. Outside of Qatar, the meat of nearly 41,300 sacrifices is expected to be distributed to approximately 826,000 people in 39 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Ministry marks World Environment Day
DOHA: As part of its commitment to addressing environmental challenges and participating in international efforts to raise community awareness of the importance of protecting planet Earth, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is participating in the celebration of World Environment Day, which falls on June 5 of each year. This year's theme is 'Reducing Plastic Pollution'. On this occasion, the Ministry lit its main building green, expressing its ongoing commitment to environmental issues and sustainable development, and in line with international initiatives aimed at reducing pollution, particularly pollution caused by single-use plastics. "Your contribution to environmental conservation begins with simple steps, yet it makes a significant difference," the ministry said in a social media post. "From reducing plastic usage to recycling and conserving resources, every sustainable practice helps build a better environmental future. Together, we take effective steps towards a more sustainable," it added.
