No Streaming Required: Physical Media Spotlight For The Week Of June 10th - James Bond & Exploring The Warner Archive

For the week of June 10th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.
This week, we explore exciting new releases and overlooked older gems from Warner Bros. and the Warner Archive. First up, we have the Looney Tunes: Collector's Vault – Volume 1 hitting Blu-Ray with 50 lovingly restored cartoon shorts over two discs. This release contains outings from fan favorites such as Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Speedy Gonzales, Pepe LePew, Daffy Duck and more. Elsewhere in the world of animation, we take you back to the release of Thundercats: The Complete Series on Blu-Ray featuring all 26 episodes from the 2011 reboot.
Warner Bros. comes to play when it comes to 4K UHD releases this week as we have the hotly anticipated Sean Connery Collection featuring the six James Bond films from the performer newly restored in 4K from the Original Camera Negative in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos and the original mono audio tracks. The release carries over commentary tracks, featurettes, interviews, and more. They also have the new Jason Statham thriller A Working Man on 4K UHD Blu-Ray from director David Ayer in HDR10 with Dolby Atmos and no special features.
Fans who gravitate towards some of the more modern offerings from the Warner Archive have a few options well worth seeking out. Morgan Freeman tackles one of his earliest leading roles with the high school rehabilitation drama Lean On Me newly restored in 4K from the Original Camera Negative. They also have the Edith Piaf biopic La Vie en Rose starring Marion Cotillard in an Oscar-winning role. The new Blu-Ray comes with the extended version of the film, featurettes, and more.
Fans of classic Hollywood melodrama will want to pay attention to Three Comrades starring Robert Taylor, Margaret Sullavan, Franchot Tone and Robert Young. The new Blu-Ray release comes from a 4K restoration of the best surviving preservation elements along with additional short films. There is also the epic musical biopic Rhapsody In Blue detailing the life of composer George Gershwin. This has been restored in 4K from the original Nitrate and Safety Preservation Elements and includes 13 minutes of previously unseen footage newly recovered. You won't want to miss the gritty film noir Mystery Street from director John Sturges, derived from a 4K restoration of the best surviving preservation elements along with a commentary track, featurettes, and cartoons.
There are also some exciting older releases we are bringing back into the spotlight for a second chance at life. This month, we are focusing on numerous stars and genres that are sure to enrich any collection. We have the biographical drama Michael Collins starring Liam Neeson, the buddy road movie Scarecrow starring Gene Hackman and Al Pacino, the Carl Weathers action vehicle Action Jackson , the Alan Ladd and Edward G. Robinson noir Hell On Frisco Bay, and more great titles not to be missed.

'I created a fantastic character that I loved, and I put a lot of love in it,' Cattrall, 68, told The Times of London in a Thursday, June 12, profile. SATC, based on author Candace Bushnell's newspaper column and novel of the same name, chronicles four 30-something best friends living in New York City while searching for love. In addition to Cattrall's Samantha, the main cast was rounded out by Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes). Despite SATC becoming a runaway, six-season hit, Cattrall initially turned down the role four times before having a change of heart. 'She wasn't a nymphomaniac — well, some people might have thought she was — but she was just enjoying the main course,' Cattrall said. 'Everyone else was nibbling on the appetizers when she was going for the steak. And it was always on her terms — that I always insisted on.' She added, 'But, I'm the antithesis of [Samantha] in many ways. I'm a serial monogamist, and then some.' She had a blink-and-you-missed-it cameo on season 2 of SATC's And Just Like That spinoff, reuniting with Parker, 60, for a phone call. Cattrall will next be heard in BBC's Central Intelligence radio series, narrating the program and portraying Eloise Page, a real CIA agent during World War II. 'In this age that we're living in right now, 'central intelligence' seems like a contradiction in terms,' she told The Times. '[Eloise] didn't have children, she was never married, her job was her life … And I think she was completely fulfilled and happy. That made her even more of a hero for me — in those times, especially.' Central Intelligence season 2 premieres Friday, June 20, on BBC Radio 4.

'I'm sitting here with 50 billion points—leading scorer all-time in the NBA. No bag? That proves the point,' he said. James certainly is not one to back down from his critics, whether on the court or online. Last month, James blasted NBA legends about their critiques of the modern-day NBA. When the 40-year-old officially concludes his all-time great professional basketball career, a surreal moment will sweep the globe. Advertisement The announcement will dictate news coverage for days, as people reflect on the legacy of possibly the most iconic athlete of the 21st Century. James himself knows this, and he is using that widespread intrigue to his advantage. The four-time NBA Finals MVP posted a clip on X from an upcoming advertisement that puts the spotlight directly on his eventual retirement. But everything might not be how it seems. 'Are the retirement rumors true? What's next,' a reporter asks James during a mock press conference. He then prepares to respond before the screen cuts to black. The NBA's all-time scoring king only stoked the flames with his caption. 'I've been asking myself the same question…' he teased. It is obviously possible that James reveals his official retirement date this offseason — it would not be the first time he went all out regarding a huge decision — but there are red flags all around. The ad hashtag is a major one. Misdirection is a cruel yet effective tactic that marketing departments have been known to break out. James can dangle his inevitable retirement in front of the masses, and they will bite. He did not become a billionaire without knowing how these things work. Advertisement However, there is always a sliver of a chance that the four-time regular season MVP and 13-time All-NBA First-Team selection hints at his future plans. He is expected to exercise his $52.6 million player option with the Lakers, but that would leave a huge cloud of uncertainty hanging above the 2026-27 campaign. In many ways, the timetable makes sense. Will next season be LeBron James' last hurrah One final season can give James another year on the court with his son and allow the Lakers to ease their transition into the Luka Doncic era (assuming the Slovenian superstar signs an extension). With a full offseason to prepare and a possibly upgraded roster, he can pursue a fifth title one last time. But there is one complicating factor that might disrupt such a vision: James is still performing at an exceptionally high level. The Akron, Ohio native posted 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and a respectable 37.6 percent from behind the 3-point line last seaosn. James does not look like someone who has logged 1,854 games in 22 seasons. He is still arguably one of the 10 best players in the game today. Advertisement When the public looks back on his career decades from now, that startling statement may just define the transcendent impact he had on the sport. His longevity will be studied. LeBron James is not done yet, though. He has left everyone on the hook, and now we have no choice but to wait for him to clarify his enigmatic post.
