Sister cocktail bar El Guapo, located next to Horticulture in Newcastle, had also had its doors locked due to the "challenging circumstances", the chain's owner confirmed.
It had previously been said the venues were closed as the ownership "decided upon the next steps for the future."
But now, in an emotional statement, it has been confirmed the sites have closed for good.
They said: 'It's with deep regret and teary eyes we have to confirm the rumours are true, we have closed our doors on Market Lane.

"A passion project we took on almost six years ago in an empty shell of a venue down the back alley called Market Lane.
"An independent cafe bar restaurant to call home.
"Pioneering brunch before it became commonly known nationally as 'bottomless', curating premium cocktails, the world's largest espresso martini menu, and also championing sustainable award winning small plates."
The owners recalled how the restaurant had to power through difficulties with the Covid-19 pandemic, which hit just five months after it opened.

This led to the furloughing of all staff before a "great return" in 2021 with "tons of local support".
The restaurant also earned a nomination at the Top 50 Restaurant Awards that year before encountering "a number of challenging circumstances beyond our control".

As a result, they "sadly" had to take the "drastic and painful steps" to shut all three venues.
They continued: 'To say we're devastated is an understatement, almost six years on Market Lane, over two years in Pepo/El Guapo and a further two years renovating the coast, it's a bitter pill frustratingly we must swallow.

'Thanks to all our amazing team over the years, our great stakeholders and all the industry folk who have helped guide us along the way and most importantly our lovely customers.
"Thank-you from the bottom of our heart for all your support, love and business over the years.
"We couldn't have done it without you. Team Horti x"
El Guapo claimed to be home of the "world's largest margarita menu", while the other Horticulture locations boasted huge cocktail lists as well as the most-extensive espresso martini menu globally.

The Newcastle branch, famed for its stylish decor and outdoor terrace, had become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.
It also attracted celebrity chefs including Si King of The Hairy Bikers.
During the night the venue would fill up with revellers to enjoy its cocktails and DJ tunes, played out across the bar area and suntrap outdoor terrace.

The retro venue in Newcastle city centre, inspired by speakeasies and cabaret bars of 1920s prohibition America, will shut its doors for the final time in just months.
Prohibition was first built in a converted railway arch in neighbouring Gateshead in 2015, attracting large numbers of followers for its classic feel.
It then moved across the river in 2018, taking up the location of the famed former Jazz Cafe on Pink Lane.
However now, owner Mitch Mitchell has shared the sad news that his iconic venue will be closing in July.
He explained that "upcoming rises to running costs" have meant the business was "no longer sustainable" in the format it was running.
Faced with the tough choice of having to compromise on the bar's "core principles", Mitch felt it was better for the venue to close but be able to hold its head up high.
Fans have expressed their sadness at the news, with many commenting under the restaurant and bar chain's announcement.

Another added: "You did such a fantastic job there, it's truly sad to see you go.
"You started something original. Wishing you all the best cxx."

In a moving tribute, a third recalled their "unreal memories" at the Horticulture outlet in Newcastle.
They wrote: "Genuinely devastated. So many unreal memories here .. mine and Rys first date .. his 30th surprise party .. NYE 2023 .. my fave bar in town!
"Hope youse are all okay and I'm sure your next venture will even top this one xxx."
This comes as major restaurant chain Browns announced it would close its first ever branch located in the heart of a seaside resort.

The bar and brasserie on Duke Street in Brighton will shut its doors soon, although no closure date has yet been confirmed.
The restaurant, nestled in the heart of The Lanes, was the first of Browns' fleet to open over 50 years ago.

Megan previously found herself sparking backlash when she admitted she still employs a cleaner, despite her financial situation. However, in a video on her TikTok page, Megan said she wouldn't be able to look after her two gardens and giant hedge on her own. "We have quite a big front garden and then we have a 60 foot hedge and then we have a back garden, and I just cannot be doing that myself," she said. She added that she "really, really got into" gardening herself during the Covid-19 lockdown, but when she went back to work it was "impossible to stay on top of it". "So I hired gardeners and they are a godsend," Megan said. "We have two for half an hour every two weeks. "They are so good, they get everything done, they get the whole lawn done, they get all of the hedges done, they get all the weeding done. "And it means that I don't have to worry about it and I can come back enjoy my garden and it's just done!" Megan also said the gardeners are "really cheap", as they first used them when they weren't "that established", so they paid a minimal amount and the gardeners have never increased it for them. "So yeah, what do you think about having gardeners when paying off debt?" she sighed. I racked up £15k debt - here's how I paid it off as a single mum "I'm going to get crucified for this because when I admitted to having cleaners and I don't have a cleaner now but when I did say I had a cleaner the Internet went wild!" "This will definitely be a controversial one!" she wrote in the video caption. "What do you think about having gardeners when in debt & paying it off?! "They're something I really considered stopping at the start of this journey but don't think I ever could!" However, the majority of people in the comments section admitted they agreed with Megan that gardeners were worth paying out for. "I've got one. It's out of necessity," one wrote. How to cut the cost of your debt IF you're in large amounts of debt it can be really worrying. Here are some tips from Citizens Advice on how you can take action. Check your bank balance on a regular basis - knowing your spending patterns is the first step to managing your money Work out your budget - by writing down your income and taking away your essential bills such as food and transport If you have money left over, plan in advance what else you'll spend or save. "I cannot physically maintain my garden. I go without many things so I can afford him because the stress of it looking a state would do me in!" "Me and my husband have a hedge the same, the effort and time it takes to cut ourselves is just ridiculous and it never looks straight!" another added. "Paying someone to come and do it with proper tools and knowledge is so much better and it takes them a fraction of the time, and they clean it all away after." "Some things are worth paying for. it would likely take you longer than them too," a third wrote. "Oh god soooo much longer!" Megan replied. "Took me 3 hours to just do the hedge once and it looked awful hahah." "Absolutely do it," someone else urged. While another admitted: "I get my nails done every month! I owe £13,500. "I'm not giving up my nails!!"

Free parking set to end at Gwynedd beauty spot dubbed 'sunset beach'

Charges look set to be introduced at Gwynedd beach car park that was previously free. Parking levies were introduced on a trial basis at the Dinas Dinlle beach carpark, near Caernarfon last summer. Cyngor Gwynedd's cabinet is now being asked to support a plan to start the legal process seeking a permanent off-street parking order at the site, at a meeting on Tuesday, June 10. Dinas Dinlle is a long sand and pebbled coastal area, popular with visitors and locals for its far reaching view towards Anglesey and the Llŷn Peninsula. It is also the site of a nearby Iron Age Hill fort, which has been the subject of archaeological excavation. Get all the latest Gwynedd news by signing up to our newsletter - sent every Tuesday The Cabinet is formally being requested to endorse a plan to delegate authority to the head of economy and community, in consultation with the Cabinet member for economy and community and head of legal services, to prepare an order to make the experimental order permanent, and give notice to the press. During 2018/19, the cash-strapped council had considered areas to make financial savings. In February, 2019, it had approved savings schemes, which included charging parking fees at the beach. The carpark falls within the responsibility of the Maritime Service, Economy and Community Department. Work to develop the parking fee plan was paused due to Covid. It was later decided to hold a trial period. "It was felt that conducting a trial period would be advantageous, and for the period to be reviewed and appraised as part of the work to develop permanent management arrangements for the site," a report had stated. During initial discussions with Llandwrog Community Council in 2019, some local concerns were raised. These had included the "detrimental impact" on businesses and residents of the village, highway safety, and that the beach served a vast number of Gwynedd residents and contributed to health and wellbeing. Further discussions with county council members and the Community Council saw a package drawn up for the site, which had also seen £400,000 improvements to the site, including resurfacing of the car park. The parking fee experiment was organised between August 16, 2024 - September 30, 2024. Fees were payable via a machine, between 9am-5pm, daily, with up to one of parking free, up to two hours: £2, Up to three hours: £3, Up to eight hours: £6 and a season ticket was £25.00. A survey had shown that 64% believed the fees were "too high" and 30% believed that the fees were "fine" , a report noted. Amid the feedback, 50% had agreed that vehicles which parked overnight in the car park should be "managed". A raft of recommendations mooted included introducing measures to prohibit overnight vehicle stays, introducing season tickets at a "reasonable fee" for locals, introducing seasonal fees, between March 1 and October 31, and earmarking 15% of income for maintenance. On April 1, 2025, changes came into force which led to an increase within the parking fees structure adopted by Cyngor Gwynedd. A new fee structure, would now see one hour still free, up to two hours: £2.20, up to four hours: £4.20, up to eight hours: £6 and a Season Ticket of £30 at the beach. A report noted the structure was recommended specifically for the Dinas Dinlle beach car park to "produce an income stream and contribute to the service's income targets, taking into account the site's features and restrictions". The Cabinet report also noted a comment from the council's chief finance officer, stating: "I can confirm that there is an income target for Dinas Dinlle Car Park since Cabinet agreed to introduce a fee and it is £57,930 for 2025/26. I therefore welcome the decision sought.."
