Jessica Lange Firmly Shuts Down Any Chance of an American Horror Story Return: ‘Oh Christ, No'

Yahoo01-03-2025

Don't hold your breath waiting to see Jessica Lange back on American Horror Story — because you might end up as dead as one of the franchise's countless murder victims.
Lange didn't mince words when asked by an Irish radio station if she'll be in the cast of the FX horror anthology's upcoming 13th season: 'Oh Christ, no. I haven't done it for more than 10 years, 12 years. So no, I'm not doing it.'

Even when the reporter pointed out that Season 13 has been speculated to be the show's final season — nothing has officially been announced by FX — Lange was unmoved. 'If they asked you back, would you come back?' the reporter inquired, and Lange's reply was quick and to the point: 'No.'
Now far be it from us to quibble with the great Jessica Lange, but she did actually return to reprise her Season 1 role of Constance Langdon in a pair of Season 8 episodes, just seven years ago. Prior to that, Lange starred in the first four seasons of Horror Story, exiting the cast after Season 4's Freak Show in 2015. The series earned Lange a pair of Emmys, along with three additional nominations.
American Horror Story didn't air a new season last fall for the first time since its 2011 debut, but executive producer Ryan Murphy teased in October that the franchise will return 'sooner than you think' for Season 13, with franchise veterans Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters reportedly in talks to return.

The Last of Us Season 3 Confirms Major Change to HBO Show

Showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin have finally confirmed that The Last of Us Season 3 will officially center around the story of a different protagonist. This comes after more than two weeks since the second installment of the acclaimed HBO drama had wrapped up its seven-episode run. Season 3 will once again be based on co-creator Neil Druckmann's acclaimed video game sequel, The Last of Us Part II. The show stars Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. The latest installment has also welcomed new cast members to the acclaimed horror drama, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Young Manzino as Jesse, Isabela Merced as Dina, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny, with guest star Catherine O'Hara. Who is the new focus of The Last of Us Season 3? During a recent interview, Druckmann and Mazin have revealed that The Last of Us Season 3 will shift its focus to Kaitlyn Dever's Abby Anderson, who was the main antagonist of Season 2. Druckmann admitted that they were actually surprised that HBO let them change the show's structure, by giving them the creative freedom to follow their vision for the show. Advertisement 'I think it was good to go on that journey to end up at HBO, end up at a place that leaned into those controversial decisions, I guess,' Druckmann shared. 'But the decisions are just what the story required, and even now, it's like I can't believe that they let us structure the series in this way. Meaning like we just ended season two, and season three is going to be starring — spoiler alert — Kaitlyn.' He continued, 'I was sure that they wouldn't let us do this when we started adapting this, but they've leaned into what makes, I believe, the story special. And allowed us not only the time but the creative freedom to be able to take these swings, and I think the audience really appreciates that.' In addition, Druckmann and Mazin also briefly teased what fans can expect from Abby's season. 'It's more of a water season than a fire season,' Druckmann revealed, as Mazin confirmed, 'It's a wetter season than a hotter season.' (Source: THR) Originally published on SuperHeroHype. Jason Isaacs approves of Johnny Flynn casting as Lucius Malfoy in 'Harry Potter' series: 'Just please don't make him sing'

The big-screen version of the villainous Lucius Malfoy has spoken. Jason Isaacs, who portrayed the wizard in several films based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter saga, approves of Johnny Flynn being cast in the role of the father of Draco Malfoy in the upcoming TV adaptation for HBO. A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too. Couldn't have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better. Just please don't make him sing…#HarryPotter #JohnnyFlynn#KillTheElfEarly — Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) June 9, 2025 "A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too," Isaacs posted Monday on X. "Couldn't have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better. Just please don't make him sing...." The actor is known for starring in the Netflix series Lovesick, which aired from 2014 to 2018, and for the 2020 movie Stardust, in which he portrayed the late David Bowie. Flynn also appeared in the 2020 version of Emma. In the streamer's 2024 drama series Ripley, he played the ill-fated Dickie Greenleaf. As Isaacs noted, Flynn is a singer and songwriter who's released several albums and soundtracks. The younger actor is one of more than a dozen cast members headed to Hogwarts, following the phenomenal success of the movies and books following the adventures of the boy wizard and his friends attending a school of magic. Isaacs has said that he thinks he will be but a memory, if anything at all, once the new show has debuted. "I have to say, I'll milk this, because this time next year, there's gonna be another Lucius Malfoy, and he's gonna be fantastic, and I'll be long forgotten," he said in April on the Awards Chatter podcast. "So I am savoring every round of applause I get." He said he wasn't looking for compliments, but being realistic. "I'm just saying, they are making the TV series, and it will be brilliant," Isaacs said. "And I will be — just like I'm now last season's White Lotus actor — I will be the [previous] iteration of Lucius Malfoy, and that's fine by me. I've had a good run." While the cast includes other showbiz veterans, such as John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, and Nick Frost, it also features several newcomers: Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will play Harry and his closest friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. What potential fallout awaits when Ohio State sexual abuse documentary debuts

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Producers of a long-awaited documentary detailing decades of sexual abuse of young male athletes by a team doctor at the Ohio State University expect the film to get a lot of attention when it debuts on HBO next Tuesday. 'Surviving Ohio State,' the HBO documentary detailing Dr. Richard Strauss' 20 years of abusing young male athletes, debuted Monday night at the Tribeca Film Festival in front of a packed theater. Among those in the crowd were survivors of the doctor, who also appeared in the film. Also appearing in the film was NBC4's Colleen Marshall, who was in Manhattan for the premiere. Marshall and photographer Steve Wainfor interviewed many of the survivors for the award-winning series of reports, 'Culture of Cover-up.' As Fort Rapids sale looms, Columbus church eyes plan to redevelop waterpark Marshall said it was shocking to see the shared trauma of the survivors in the film and that premiere attendants left the theater with very strong opinions about Ohio State and its handling of the situation. Congressman and former Ohio State wrestling coach Jim Jordan denied any knowledge of Strauss' actions when NBC4 questioned him about reports that coaches were aware of sexual abuse allegations and aware of fencing coach Charlotte Remenyik reporting it. The film reveals that Remenyik lodged complaints to University leaders for 10 years, but nothing was done. A referee named Fred Feeney said he was groped and sexually harassed in the shower by Strauss and reported it to Jordan. Feeney claimed Jordan's response was 'That's just Strauss.' 'Surviving Ohio State' is a two-hour film and will be shown in two different theaters Tuesday night as part of the 12-day film festival. Film critics and members of the public will watch the movie before it debuts on HBO next week. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
