Inter Milan Manager Delivers Cryptic Fitness Update On Three Stars Ahead Of Barcelona Clash: 'Nothing Is Certain'
Simone Inzaghi refused to reveal the return date for injured stars Piotr Zielinski, Denzel Dumfries, and Marcus Thuram.
During his latest interview via FCInterNews, the 49-year-old addressed the team's fitness situation ahead of a crucial week.

Indeed, the reigning Scudetto holders will take on Roma in a must-win Serie A clash at San Siro on Sunday.
Furthermore, Inzaghi's charges will meet Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie days after.
Meanwhile, Inter waved goodbye to their treble dream after AC Milan eliminated the Nerazzurri from the Coppa Italia tonight.
Luka Jovic's brace and a late strike from Tijjani Reijnders saw the nine-time Coppa winners exit the competition.
'We must handle the season finale with analysis and trust. We're sorry to have lost in front of our fans, but that's football,' Inzaghi said.

'We shouldn't have gone into halftime trailing, but we needed to do better in both boxes. Credit to them, yet the 2-0 goal was a bit lucky.
'We were unlucky with the ball staying there after Barella's handball.
'However, we were disorganized in the second half. But the first 30 minutes were the best we've played in any derby this season.
'It's always tough to come back when you go behind. Congratulations to Milan, they were better than us.'

'We're not focusing on that—we're not hiding behind excuses or fatigue.
'Of course, I'd love to have Thuram, Dumfries, and Zielinski available, but we know they're not.

'In the last three derbies, we've not had Thuram and Lautaro together, it's normal to have absences.
'Everyone is working to come back, but we're not dwelling on excuses.
'The first half was played like a serious team, though the first goal we conceded is unacceptable.
'The second was fortunate.
'We tried to get back into it, albeit in a disorganized and unfocused way. Maignan did well on De Vrij's chance.'
Asked whether he'll have Denzel Dumfries and the other two back for next week's trip to Barcelona, Inzaghi replied: 'There are no certainties.
'Every match now is like a World Cup final. There's hope for Sunday, but no guarantees yet. We'll see in the coming days.'

Finally, he refused to seek excuses for Inter's disastrous Coppa Italia performance.
'I won't talk about that—otherwise it's too easy. I need everyone now, no one excluded.
'I'll try to pick the most suitable players for each game. I hope to have the three injured players back, they're important.
'We're proud, we chose a difficult path. Indeed, we really cared about the Coppa Italia, we thank the players for their effort.
'We're sorry for the fans and the club.'

Barcelona to renew youngster's contract, before allowing him to depart

Barcelona to renew youngster's contract, before allowing him to depart The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have made a call on the future of young midfielder Pablo Torre. That's according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya's capital. Advertisement Torre, for his part, is fresh off a largely frustrating campaign with Barcelona in 2024/25. Despite impressing when afforded the opportunity, the major competition for places in the attacking midfield role in Hansi Flick's XI saw the 22-year-old restricted to just five starts across all competitions. A summer exit for Torre, in turn, has long been rumoured in the media. And if the latest word stemming from the Camp Nou on Wednesday is anything to go by, then as much appears to be on the cards, with a twist… As per a report from MD: 'The idea is to negotiate with his representatives for a contract extension starting in June 2026. Once secured and under control, the club would either loan Torre out with a purchase option or sell him with a buyout clause as affordable as possible.' In this way, Barcelona would keep control over the long-term future of a player considered 'excellent' from both a technical and tactical standpoint by manager Hansi Flick. Conor Laird – GSFN

Why Igor Tudor Will Coach Juventus At Club World Cup And Into 2025/26

More AFP) (Photo by MARCO BERTORELLO/AFP via Getty Images) Speaking at his inaugural press conference after taking over as General Manager of Juventus, Damien Comoli has confirmed that Igor Tudor will remain as the club's Head Coach. The Bianconeri had already announced Comoli's arrival – an appointment discussed in this previous column – and knowing that he would be asked about the future of the side, the former Tottenham executive addressed it head on. 'I would like to clarify a few points before taking questions,' Comoli told reporters at his first press conference. 'Igor Tudor will be our Coach for next season and not just for the Club World Cup. He will lead the first team for the 2025/2026 season and, I hope, beyond that. 'I remember it perfectly when I met him in Ligue 1. Even then, I was impressed by the intensity he brought to his Marseille side. He did an extraordinary job there, but I repeat that what struck me most was the resilience of his team, the physical and mental strength of those players.' The reason Tudor had become such a hot topic was the constant speculation that he would be replaced. As last season came to a close, Juventus had been strongly linked with approaches for Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini but ultimately those rumours came to nothing. Those same reports – including this one from the Corriere della Sera – also insisted that Juve had made contact with Stefano Pioli and Fulham boss Marco Silva, but again with no tangible progress. Whatever the truth behind those rumours, the Turin giants will now go into the 2025/26 campaign with Tudor at the helm and he will also be in charge for the FIFA Club World Cup which kicks off later this month. When he arrived back in March to replace Thiago Motta, Tudor was initially only in charge on an interim basis, but his deal automatically extended until June 2026 when UEFA Champions League qualification was achieved. There was a clause that gave Juve an option to terminate the agreement for a cost of €1 million ($1.14 million) this summer, but now it seems the Coach will do so with a new, improved contract. According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Tudor's agent Anthony Seric will be in Turin later this week to finalise terms on an extension that will run until the summer of 2027. This would bring a far greater sense of stability to the club, as currently they would go into the 2025/26 campaign with the Coach already in the final year of his contract. Instead, with a two-year deal in place, Tudor would have more authority to shape the squad in the manner he needs to. Comoli was inevitably also asked how he would support the Coach with changes in the transfer market, but – other than confirming Randal Kolo Muani would play for Juve in the Club World Cup – he refused to give any details. 'I'm very open, but there is one thing I'm not open about, and it's transfers,' Comoli said at his press conference. 'I tend to be more reserved on this. 'We discussed with the coach, Giorgio [Chiellini] and Maurizio [Scanavino, club CEO]. We have an idea; we are considering Igor's approach. What I can say is that surely adjustments need to be made, but not radical changes.' Using the boss' tactical framework to inform their choices can only benefit the team and their prospects of silverware next term. Igor Tudor is here to stay, now Juventus need to rediscover their identity and challenge for honours if his time at the helm is to ultimately be successful.
