Warning as 'five lamb heads' found dumped in Glasgow park's pond
According to a post shared on social media, lamb heads have been discovered in Maxwell Park pond in Pollokshields.
A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council confirmed that items have been found in the small body of water but they were unable to confirm exactly what animal it was.
They said anyone who is found to be responsible for dumping the items in the pond could be fined £500, calling the behaviour "completely unacceptable".
In a post shared in Facebook community group Pollokshields Together, a local resident said they had been made aware that "five lambs heads" have been dumped in the pond over the last few months.
Another person commented saying they saw someone dumping two goat heads in the pond, while a third person claimed they had found "a white plastic bag full of meat" hidden in undergrowth.
A council spokesperson said: "We have recovered these items from the park and they have been disposed of appropriately.
"It is completely unacceptable to dump any kind of waste in a public pond in this way.
"All waste should be contained within an appropriate bin.
"If anyone has any information on who is responsible for dumping this waste, we will pursue enforcement action and that person will be liable to receive a fixed penalty notice of £500."

Businessman mauled to death by lion after stepping out of his tent to use the toilet during overnight safari
EATEN ALIVE Businessman mauled to death by lion after stepping out of his tent to use the toilet during overnight safari A BUSINESSMAN who spent large sums of money supporting Namibian desert lions has been killed by one of the predators after leaving his tent to use the loo. Dad-of-two Bernd Kebbel, 59, was with his wife Conny on a wildlife expedition at a camp with friends in the north of the country before the horror attack. 1 A wealthy philanthropist who spent large sums of money supporting desert lions has been killed by one Credit: Supplied The tragedy unfolded when Kebbel got up in the early hours of Friday morning. The philanthropist climbed down a ladder from the safety of his rooftop tent mounted on the top of a 4x4, before the beast lunged at him. His desperate screams woke up the rest of the shocked camp in Namibia who rushed to his rescue in the darkness. They bravely chased off the lioness before it could devour its victim. Namibian police said nothing could be done to save the keen outdoorsman who was killed almost instantly in the savage ordeal. His body was covered up until authorities could arrive. It is believed that the lioness with cubs - named by locals as Charlie - may be hunted and shot dead. A Namibian lion expert said: 'Thankfully it would have been quick as a human is no match for a lioness that is in its prime. 'There are only about 60 desert lions in this region of Kunane where the attack happened and in this particular area around the Hoanib Camp maybe a dozen at the very most." The expert added: 'The desert lions have adapted to the harsh and burning desert environment and have become extremely adept night-time hunters as there is no cover for them during the day." The businessman has two grown-up children, Dieter and Heidi, both in their late twenties. They are said to have moved to South Africa where they went to university before pursuing their careers. It is understood they are flying home to comfort their devastated mum Conny, 57, at their home in the capital Windhoek. Kebbel owned the Off-Road-Centre in Namibia's main city Windhoek which bought and sold 4x4 safari vehicles and accessories needed in the wild. Lion expert Izak Smit said that Namibia's most famous lion expert Dr Philip 'Flip' Stander had named an adult male Kebbel in his honour. He said it was to recognise the large sums of money he paid into looking after lions. More to follow... Holidaymakers caught smuggling 37kg of cannabis after dream Thai trip
Holidaymakers caught smuggling 37kg of cannabis after dream Thai trip A judge later described their actions as 'naïve and stupid' Lewis Ellis and James Poutch have been sentenced Two young men who jetted off for a three-week holiday in Thailand ended up in the dock after being stopped at Manchester Airport on their return. Lewis Ellis and James Poutch had travelled to the South-east Asian country in April to attend the Water Festival. But when they landed back in the UK, they were stopped by customs officials — and questioned about what they were bringing home. Ellis, 20, immediately came clean, telling officers: 'I have cannabis in my bag, I may as well tell you because you're going to see it.' Border Force officers went on to discover a total of 37 kilograms of cannabis, packed in vacuum-sealed plastic packages, inside the two men's luggage. Both later pleaded guilty to being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of class B drugs. Don't miss a court report by signing up to our crime newsletter here A judge later described their actions as 'naïve and stupid' and handed down suspended sentences. Prosecutor Georgia Kennedy-Curnow told the court that Ellis and Poutch, 19, were stopped at Manchester Airport after arriving on a flight from Bangkok via Abu Dhabi. She said Ellis explained he had been on a leisure trip with a friend he knew from school. A search of Ellis' suitcase revealed 19.83 kilograms of cannabis. James Poutch (Image: Facebook ) Poutch was stopped shortly after. He told officials he had packed the suitcase himself and was not carrying it on anyone else's behalf. His luggage contained 17.22 kilograms of the drug. 'The defendant said he had lost his phone abroad and both defendants gave no comment in their interviews,' Ms Kennedy-Curnow said. Defence barrister Simon Hustler, representing both men, told the court: 'The defendants would not seek to persuade the court that this was anything other than naked stupidity by two young men. 'Their families are in court today and are as livid as they were when they were before the lower court.' Lewis Ellis (Image: Facebook ) Mr Hustler added that Ellis, who had eight previous convictions, was now in a 'last chance saloon.' Sentencing the pair, Recorder Geoffrey Lowe said: 'You had an operational function in the chain, to courier these drugs into another country. 'This was naive and stupid for both of you - you exposed yourselves to the risk of imprisonment.' Poutch, of Fenby Gardens, Bradford, received a 16-month sentence, suspended for two years. Mr Hustler explained that both men had paid for the trip themselves and initially travelled with the intention of attending the Water Festival. It was during their time in Thailand that they encountered individuals and agreed to transport the drugs. Ellis, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 18 months, also suspended for two years.
