Jack Black's 'Steve's Lava Chicken" from A Minecraft Movie is still the most popular film song in the U.S.
"Steve's Lava Chicken" — which runs a swift 34 seconds — had 29.6 million official on-demand U.S. streams to top Billboard's Top 10 Movie Songs chart, the trade publication reported. In addition, the song sold 4,000 downloads, according to Luminate (via Billboard), which compiled the streamng and download data.
Steve's Lava Chicken also made Billboard's Hot 100 chart for three weeks, peaking at No. 78 on May 3 — just under a month after the film opened in theaters on April 4. Billboard reported that the song is currently No. 25 on the trade publication's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
Steve's Lava Chicken has the distinction of being the shortest song ever to chart on Billboard's Hot 100. Black, of course, is musician in addition to his acting career. Along with Kyle Gass, he is a member of the hit rock duo Tenacious D.
A Classic Song From 'Final Destination Bloodlines' Was No. 2 Behind 'Steve's Lava Chicken'
According to Billboard, Steve's Lava Chicken beat out the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic 'Bad Moon Rising' from Final Destination Bloodlines for the top spot on the Top Movie Songs chart.
Starship's 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' from Thunderbolts* at No. 3, while 'Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride' by Iam Tongi & Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus from Lilo & Stitch charted at No. 4. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers 'Mary Jane's Last Dance,' from the Netflix original film The Electric State rounded out the top 5.
Meanwhile, Eric Prydz's 'Call On Me' from Warfare was No. 6, followed by FLETCHER's Healing from Drop at No. 7. Cocteau Twins' 'Cherry-Coloured Funk' from Death of a Unicorn was No. 8, Chappell Roan's 'Casual' from Novocaine was No. 9 and Miles Caton's 'I Lied to You' Sinners was No. 10.
Only time will tell how long 'Steve's Lava Chicken' will dominate Billboard's Top Movie Songs chart. A Minecraft Movie arrived on streaming on Max on June 20 following its digital streaming debut via premium video on demand on May 13.
A Minecraft Movie to date has earned $429 million in North American theaters and $529.6 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $953.5 million to date against a $150 million budget, according to The Numbers.
Based on the classic Minecraft video game, A Minecraft Movie, starring Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers and Sebastian Hansen, is rated PG.

‘Days of Light' Review: Lives of the Artists

Set during six consequential days scattered over six decades, from the late 1930s to the late 1990s, Megan Hunter's third novel, 'Days of Light,' chronicles the life and times of the directionless but searching Ivy (so named because she was born on Christmas). The family seat, Cressingdon, which Ivy's profoundly and proudly Bohemian mother, Marina, once described as 'the most secular house in England,' will feel familiar to anyone versed in the Bloomsbury group. Marina, a renowned painter, lives there with her lover Angus, also an artist, who is frequently visited by current and former male companions (for the record, Marina isn't boho enough not to be bothered by this). Ivy's father, Gilbert, a notable writer and a man of many girlfriends during and after his split from Marina (the two never divorced because how bourgeois would that be?), puts in occasional appearances. Ivy, 19 when the novel opens—Easter Sunday, 1938—had, over the years, tried to dance, act, sing and write. Nothing took. 'She was a dilettante; she knew it as soon as she heard the word, at one of her mother's dinner parties.' Perhaps this is why she is given to aimless flitting about and to self-dramatizing musings. 'Sometimes she felt that she would have preferred to live as a flower, or a tree, to grow in increments, never be expected to move or create beyond her natural cycle.' What begins as an idyllic holiday ends in horror when Ivy and her adored older brother, Joseph, go for an evening swim in the frigid river on their property. Transfixed by a strange light whose source remains a mystery, Ivy doesn't see Joseph disappear under the surface of the water; his body is never found. The tragedy upends Ivy's life, leading to her hasty marriage to one of Angus's former lovers, to motherhood, to an intense relationship with Joseph's former girlfriend and to a search for God.

Are platonic kisses ever okay when you're in a relationship?

Scarlett Johansson and her Jurassic World Rebirth co-star Jonathan Bailey made waves last week when they kissed on the red carpet. Seemingly delighted to see her colleague at the film premiere in New York, it was Johansson who strode towards the Wicked actor, clasping his face in her hands, before planting a smacker squarely on his mouth. While the act wasn't exactly X-rated – or even remotely romantic – it certainly gave fans plenty to talk about. Indeed, if this had been an episode of Bridgerton (the Netflix period drama that gave Bailey his breakout role), it would have been plastered all over the front page of Lady Whistledown's gossip pamphlet. The reason for the heightened reaction? Well, ScarJo is married to Saturday Night Live comedian, Colin Jost (who was also in attendance, FYI). Doubling down on their right to lock lips at the London premiere a few days later, Johansson and Bailey once again shared a moment. He has also since defended the kisses, stating in an interview with Entertainment Weekly: "I believe in being able to show love in all different ways. And if you can't kiss your friends… life's too short not to." Still, the pair's embrace has prompted many to ask: Is this okay? According to Clare Patterson, a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)-registered therapist, while a kiss is a sign of affection, it absolutely can be non-sexual. She tells Yahoo UK: "It is as innocent and platonic as the intention behind it." That said, she understands why there are sometimes blurred lines and mixed reactions to platonic kisses, adding: "Perhaps one or both parties read more into the action, and so unless there is a very clear understanding that it is 'nothing more', it may be said to be best to err on the side of caution." Similarly, senior BACP-accredited therapist Debbie Keenan stresses that the motivation behind the kiss is what matters, rather than the act itself. She adds: "What I always come back to is; what is the intention behind the action? "Some people are extremely tactile and that's okay," she continues. "People express affection differently. Physical touch is a primary love language for some, but what matters most is mutual understanding and trust within the romantic partnership. If the kiss is genuinely affectionate and non-romantic, and both partners are comfortable with it, it is not problematic." Keenan notes that, if you have a tendency to be very affectionate with friends, you may benefit from having that conversation with your partner – particularly at the start of your relationship. She advises: "Transparency and communication is key in any healthy relationship. If platonic kissing is a norm in your friendships, having an open, empathetic conversation with your partner helps avoid misunderstandings and affirms emotional safety. This is especially important if acts of physical touch or quality time are significant love languages for either partner." Keenan adds: "Before kissing a friend, consider your intention, the cultural context, your partner's comfort level, and the potential impact on all involved relationships. Entering a romantic relationship may require some recalibration of friendship dynamics – not out of control, but out of respect and prioritisation of the romantic bond. Boundaries aren't about restriction; they're about maintaining emotional safety for everyone involved." For Patterson, however, going out of your way to discuss this type of behaviour may be overkill and pique your partner's suspicion. She says: "If there is genuine trust in a relationship, it should not really be necessary. If there is any jealousy, that is on the partner to address and work through. As long as there is confidence and trust, any actions or shows of affection with other individuals can be automatically assumed as innocent. There is no need to over-explain." Noting the added dynamic of Bailey's sexuality in this particular instance (he's openly gay), Keenan believes this perhaps allows all parties to be more comfortable with the situation. "We're often more comfortable with physical affection in these contexts because there's a perceived lack of romantic or sexual threat," she comments. "The intent behind the kiss is more easily understood as platonic, and therefore less likely to be interpreted as a boundary-crossing. This reflects how we culturally code affection and trust, and it highlights the importance of understanding both context and intention in non-romantic touch." Kissable and so affordable, Glossier's Lip Glaze is a favorite of KATSEYE's Daniela. With the sale, you can now get your lips glossier than ever for just $17.60. This gloss delivers up to 12 hours of hydration with help from a blend of ingredients such as shea butter along with apricot and raspberry seed oils. For those hot days sat out by the pool, this gloss' cooling tech comes in extra handy. The formula features a menthol-derived cooling agent that offers the same tingling effect that a peppermint candy would. The gloss is also non-sticky, wearing comfortably on the lips. Don't expect an impactful color payoff. The Lip Glaze is just that — a glaze. It's like a wash of color that enhances the lips. Daniela's chosen shade is Icy, a sheer blue hue that goes on clear, rather than the blue you see in the packaging. $17.60 $22.00 20% off Buy Now at glossier A tinted brow gel in black. Bushy brows often give a youthful look to the face. They've always been extremely popular for that reason. From the '80s to today, the captivating arch is all about volume and drama. Glossier's Boy Brow is hallowed for offering that effect and then some ever since its launch back in 2015, quickly becoming a bestseller for the brand. The formula is a pomade style, inspired by similar formulas for grooming mustaches. Boy Brow is a wax-based formula, offering that stifness the product needs to shape and define brow hairs. To achieve the perfect arch, you'll want to select a shade that matches your hair. Lucky for you, Glossier features six different shades to choose from including Gray for our silver foxes. They've also got a clear formula that focuses on shaping rather than filling in. Once you've picked the proper shade, you'll want to brush the spoolie through your brows, making sure to work up and in sections, feathering the wand through the hairs. You'll have bushy and wonderful Cara Delevingne eyebrows in seconds. $17.60 $22.00 20% off Buy Now at glossier A bright poppy red liquid blush. Glossier's Cloud Paint is another one of the brand's hit products. Launched back in 2017, making its official debut on the Oscars red carpet with stars such as Chrissy Teigen and Taraji P. Henson. The product is a favorite for the natural, skin-like flush it imparts, making the wearer look naturally bashful and youthful. KATSEYE's Megan is a fan of the shade Beam, while Yoon-chae uses Puff and Soar. Sophia uses Whisp and Manon uses Dawn. We like Spark, a poppy hue that would look flattering on just about everyone. The flush is fluid, meaning it's buildable and easy to use. To apply, squeeze a couple of dots onto your fingers, around two is enough to start. Dot onto the cheeks and the bridge of the nose, working in with your fingers in a patting motion. If you want more pigment, feel free to apply more. The world is your oyster. $58.50 $78 25% off Buy Now at glossier A perfume that adapts with your skin If there's one thing that Glossier has mastered, it's innovative fragrance. Glossier's You began it all, launched as one of the brand's first forces into the fragrance world. Since then, the brand has launched three more perfumes, along with candles and solid fragrance balms. You is a scent that adapts to the wearer's skin chemistry, creating a smell that's all unique to you. You'll never smell like anyone else wearing this bad boy. You've got notes of sparkling and spicy pink pepper along with earthy iris and a warm, musky base of ambrox and ambrette. The combined notes create a sweet and complex but skin-like scent that's perfect for those seeking out a subtle fragrance. $12 $16 25% off Buy Now at glossier A scented balm with a brown tint. While KATSEYE didn't reach for this product in their GRWM, Glossier's Bomb Dotcom is an icon. This lip balm launched back in 2014 and was one of the first four products Glossier ever released. Since its release, the balm has garnered an almost cult-like following thanks to its unique scents and colorways. We've chosen to highlight Espresso, a new shade of Bomb Dotcom scented like coffee with a brown, mocha-esque tint. No matter the shade, the balm is formulated with antioxidants and natural emollients like beeswax and castor seed oil to nourish your lips. Dryness begone! Watch KATSEYE's GRWM with Glossier below:
