Kathy Gohari Named President of Rodeo Drive Committee
Kathy Gohari has been named president of the Rodeo Drive Committee in Beverly Hills, effective July 1.
'It has been an evolution,' Gohari said of the committee, which was founded in 1977 by retailer and entrepreneur Fred Hayman. It's Gohari's third term. 'Almost 50 years ago, when it was first established, the dream of the founders was really to have this cohesive, supportive, thriving street of luxury retail and real estate. We are here in 2025 delivering just that.'

A nonprofit, the committee offers a space for retailers, hotels and property owners on Rodeo Drive to connect and exchange ideas while working together to attract visitors and enhance the vitality of the street.
Gohari began her career on Rodeo Drive working for Emanuel Ungaro while studying fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. Today, she's director at Audemars Piguet.
Gohari's current focus is welcoming a newer generation to the luxury shopping destination, she said.
'It is a very fine balance between maintaining its existing visitors and clients and fans and at the same time attracting a younger, newer generation who has discovered luxury, and they are some of the strongest spenders in the sector,' said Gohari. 'Not just to spend, but to have them want to come onto Rodeo Drive and film content. Today's celebrities, many of them are this generation of influencers.'
With the World Cup, Super Bowl, and Olympics all headed to L.A., there's a renewed sense of excitement in the city, and a full calendar of events and activations on the horizon on Rodeo Drive. Festivities kick off on Sunday with a Father's Day car show, featuring hypercars, supercars and vintage classics.
'We are not a need business,' Gohari said. 'We are a want business. Nobody needs anything we offer on Rodeo Drive. It is a desire. It's an emotional connection. And as long as we're able to offer that, there is no one who can compete with us.'
Gohari's executive committee is composed of Houman Mahboubi, Risa Misawa, Kiersten Dunn, Chelle Kearney, Kay Monica Rose and Mark Tronstein.

Ilona Maher Talks 2028 L.A. Olympics After Winning Bronze in Paris
American rugby player Ilona Maher was one of Team USA's breakout stars of the 2024 Paris Olympics - and with the 2028 summer games coming to Los Angeles, Maher is contemplating whether she wants to compete. "I am going to try to," the athlete, 28, told Kylie Kelce on the Thursday, June 12, episode of Kelce's "Not Gonna Lie" podcast. "I think it would be so cool to play in a home olympics. That is my goal, but I am still in a phase of trying to figure out what my love of it is. Like, my 'why' for rugby because I feel very fulfilled after the Olympics, getting a medal and doing all that." She finished second on season 33 alongside pro partner Alan Bersten. "Playing while I still love it and not like it's a chore, and also I still feel good, is what I'm battling now," she continued. "I love doing this. I love doing the social media, the swim weeks and the shows, so I hope that I go back in a couple years and I'm like, 'I can't wait to work my ass off to put in the grind.'" Maher, however, is aware that playing in the Olympics is about more than just sports. "With the Olympics, this wasn't just for myself," she told Us Weekly exclusively in December 2024. "The Olympics was to get a medal for my team, to get a medal for our program so we could continue having a program so young girls could dream about being an Olympian and playing rugby in the U.S. So that's pressure." Since coming home from Paris, Maher has embraced her platform as a role model, becoming an advocate for body image and inclusion on and off the field. Along with everything else she has going on, she revealed in May that she has also been working on writing a memoir since 2022. "I was like, 'I don't have anything to write about,'" she told guest Mamrie Hart on an episode of her "House of Maher" podcast. "'What am I gonna write about?' And then one day, I opened up a Cutwater … I was at home and I just started typing and realized you have so much more to say than you realize sometimes." Donald Trump ally bids for £170m Crystal Palace stake
John Textor is considering three offers for his stake in Crystal Palace – including one from Donald Trump ally Woody Johnson. A quick sale could rescue the Premier League side from the threat of expulsion from the Europa League. Advertisement Telegraph Sport understands Johnson, the New York Jets owner, tabled a 43 per cent purchase proposal, marginally less in overall value than two others being discussed. Raine Group, the New York broker which secured sales for Chelsea and Manchester United, had been in discussion with parties on behalf of Textor since last year. However, the American is conscious of the club's need to now secure a quick transaction to guarantee European competition next season. A rapid sale for as little as £170 million has been mooted for Eagle Football Holdings' 43 per cent stake as Textor's ownership of Lyon leaves Palace facing the threat of being barred from Europe's second tier. However, options include at least two other proposals from the US, one of which has been established for months. A deal with Johnson, 78, is viewed as an outside shot. He is a controversial figure in US sport, with the New York Jets facing scrutiny last year following reports of 'controversial and dysfunctional practices' under his watch. The Jets' $1.6 billion MetLife Stadium will host next year's World Cup final. Johnson is also well-known in UK politics. The American businessman has long been interested in buying a Premier League club, having approached Raine about Chelsea in 2022. That separate proposal was first reported by The Athletic on Wednesday night. Another international consortium advised by the veteran football financier Keith Harris also previously expressed interest. Mr Harris's group would probably execute its deal through the recently incorporated Sportbank vehicle. The Sportsbank consortium – worth upwards of £200 million – is said to be made up of a collection of investors from North America, Europe and the Gulf. Advertisement Textor, who previously expressed interest in buying Everton, is willing to find another club as soon as possible. Textor acquired his holding in Palace in 2021 for about £90 million. His multi-club network Eagle Football also includes French club Lyon, Rio-based Botafogo and RWD Molenbeek in Belgium. His priority is to pursue a club which can accept players across the group. Crystal Palace's overall value is said to be about £500 million – around the same price that Everton were valued at, minus debt, during Farhad Moshiri's protracted sale. Stanley Tang, of the US-based food delivery company DoorDash, denied suggestions that he was also in discussions to buy Textor's stake. Chairman Steve Parish, Textor and his fellow US businessmen Harris and Blitzer oversee the running of the Selhurst Park club as general partners. However, Textor has repeatedly hinted at frustrations that he does not exert as much control as he would like. Palace insist there is no sharing of information or staff or facilities with the French side. The club argue that despite Textor's shareholding, he has no say in the day-to-day running and has just 25 per cent of voting rights. Nottingham Forest have written a letter to Uefa expressing their position and asking for clarification over whether Palace will be involved.
