Red Sox Looking to Make Early Deadline Move After Jarren Duran Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Rumors have now surfaced that the San Diego Padres are interested in trading for Jarren Duran. What the Boston Red Sox do over the next two months will likely determine how they move at the trade deadline, but there are many ways this organization could go.

And according to The Athletic, there's a chance that an early trade deadline move could be the outcome. The Athletics' Jen McCaffrey noted that an early trade deadline move could rejuvenate the team, putting less pressure on Craig Breslow, as some of his moves have clearly not worked out as the organization had hoped.
'For as good as the Red Sox and their fan base felt in spring training, the optimism that the team will contend is questionable at best as the calendar has flipped to June. Perhaps early trade deadline moves can rejuvenate the team and help Breslow reconfigure what has turned into a disappointing mess of a season so far,' she wrote.

The last thing the Red Sox want to do is to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. They sit at 29-32 and are already 8.5 games behind the first-place New York Yankees in the American League East.

If there's a player available they love, and they wouldn't have to give up much to land said player, exploring that option should be on the table.
However, if they just make a trade to make a trade, there's a very good chance it'll go south.
At the very least, it seems that Boston is willing to do what it takes to try to win. If the front office wants to make a move, it looks like it's certainly a possibility at this stage.

Caitlin Clark Surpassed as WNBA MVP Betting Favorite

Caitlin Clark Surpassed as WNBA MVP Betting Favorite originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Even as she sits on the bench, missing multiple games due to injury, Caitlin Clark remains the center of attention in the WNBA. Clark last saw game action on May 24, a 90-88 loss to the reigning WNBA champion, New York Liberty. She was then diagnosed with a strained left quadriceps, requiring approximately two weeks of recovery. Advertisement The Indiana Fever continued to lose their next two games before picking up their first win without Clark against the Washington Mystics 85-76 on Tuesday. While the Fever were in the midst of winning their third game of the season, Clark and her betting fans received unfortunate news. As per @PolymarketSport on X, Clark was surpassed as the favorite to win the WNBA MVP award this season. The new frontrunner to win the award is now the Minnesota Lynx', Napheesa Collier. Collier's odds are now minus-160, becoming the overwhelming favorite. Collier has emerged as one the WNBA's most consistent, talented players. She finished as the runner-up in MVP voting last season to A'ja Wilson. Advertisement Collier and the Lynx are playing as well as any player and team in the league right now, and were active on Tuesday night as well. Collier finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and one block during the Lynx' 88-65 win over the Phoenix Mercury. The Lynx remain one of only two undefeated teams in the WNBA at 8-0. The Liberty are the other undefeated team, sitting sit at 7-0.
