UK couple undertake mission to steal their own car due to Police negligence
A couple in the United Kingdom took part in a mission to steal their own car back from thieves as the police failed to act in their interest. According to a report in The Times, Mia Forbes Pirie and Mark Simpson realised their car was missing from their home in Brook Green, west London. The Jaguar E-Pace was equipped with a ghost immobiliser which is a device that uses a unique code to start the car and therefore preventing theft.They reported the incident to the Police to which they responded saying they were too busy to probe into the matter and further added that they would investigate it, but did not give them a specific time frame. The car was reported missing on June 4, the airtag on the vehicle pointed to the fact that it was in their home at around 3:20 am (local time) and in Chiswick at 10:30 a.m. They rushed in search of the car in the absence of the Police.They found the car in a quiet alley. Its interior and carpets were ripped apart by the thieves as it looked like they were trying to access its wiring.Later, on LinkedIn Pirie posted "I have to confess … it was kind of fun stealing back our own car …`.Pirie further added that if appropriate measures are not set in place for crimes, people will do such unlawful activities. After the car was rescued, Police stated that they would check for any fingerprints. It is presumed that due to the lack of response from the police, many people had touched the car.

Activist files police complaint against Siddaramaiah, seeks action under Sec. 132 of BNS
Belagavi-based activist Bheemappa Gundappa Gadad has filed a complaint against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah saying that he (Siddaramaiah) tried to assault a senior police officer in Belagavi on April 28. Mr. Gadad filed the complaint at the Camp Police Station on Thursday. He accused Mr. Siddaramaiah of intimidating, insulting and trying to assault Additional Superintendent of Police, Dharwad, Narayan Baramani, who was on duty during a Congress rally in Belagavi. The Chief Minister was upset that the police were unable to prevent a protest by some women activists from the BJP, as they raised black flags and also slogans against the Chief Minister and asked him to 'Go to Pakistan'. The Chief Minister raised his hand in anger and tried to strike Mr. Baramani. The officer took a step back while on stage. The complainant asked the local police to act against the Chief Minister under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging duty). Mr. Gadad attached a compact disc of a video clip of the incident. He said that he will complain to the National Human Rights Commission against the Chief Minister.

LOS ANGELES: US President Donald Trump said Thursday that Los Angeles was "safe and sound" for the past two nights, crediting his deployment of thousands of troops to quell anti-deportation protests, as California prepared for a legal showdown over his unprecedented move. Three people were arrested in Tucson, Arizona, following clashes with police, the Arizona Republic reported. Provisions of Goondas Act invoked against three in elderly couple murder case
Three persons arrested for the brutal murder of an elderly couple on April 28, 2025, were detained under the Goondas Act on Thursday. The bodies of Ramasamy (72) and Bakkiyam (63) of Megaraiyan Thottam, Uchimedu, near Sivagiri, were found in their house on May 1, three days after the murder. The accused had looted 10.75 sovereigns of gold jewellery from the victims. Twelve special teams were formed to trace the suspects. On May 19, the police arrested P. Aachiappan (48), N. Madeswaran (52), and R. Ramesh (54), all residents of Arachalur in Erode district. A goldsmith, Gyanasekaran of Chennimalai Palayam, who had melted the stolen jewellery and returned it to the accused, was also arrested. Based on a recommendation by Superintendent of Police A. Sujatha, Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara ordered the detention of the three under the Goondas Act. Detention notices were served on them at Coimbatore Central Prison.
