SHANGHAI, /CNW/ -- ChangAn Automobile ("ChangAn" or "the Company"), an intelligent low-carbon mobility technology company, showcased its latest achievements in innovative technology, brand upgrades, and sustainable development at Auto Shanghai 2025 under the theme "Together for a Smarter World". The Company invited nearly 600 domestic and international media outlets and over 500 global partners to Shanghai to explore a shared future vision.
On the first day of the show, ChangAn hosted a series of major press conferences and briefings. The Company showcased models from its three major brands — CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR — each highlighting its unique strengths. ChangAn officially announced the pricing and specifications of the Q07, positioning it as a vehicle offering comfortable, worry-free driving experience. The DEEPAL brand, aimed at younger consumers, debuted the full-size SUV S09. Meanwhile, the AVATR 06 drew the spotlight, aiming to redefine the luxury electric vehicle standard with advanced design and assisted driving technology — a smart vehicle designed to understand its driver.
During the exhibition, media participated in interactive showcases, such as riding in the CHANG-AN E07 equipped with the Intelligent TH Chassis to experience leaf- and snow-shaking movements synchronised with music. These features highlighted ChangAn's SDA digital platform and its advancements in smart perception. Attendees also engaged with robotic dogs and humanoid robots, demonstrating the Company's breakthroughs in intelligent technology and multi-scenario applications. Additionally, ChangAn's Intelligent TS Drive, Intelligent TY Cockpit, and BlueCore 3.0 were also showcased, pushing its intelligent capabilities to new heights.
In his keynote at the 2025 conference, Zhu Huarong, Chairman of ChangAn Automobile, global sales rose 34.2% to 2.684 million vehicles in 2024, with 735,000 new energy vehicles and 536,000 sold internationally. At the conference, Li Mingcai, Executive Vice President of ChangAn Automobile, highlighted key global milestones. The Company launched its first international NEV manufacturing base in Thailand and developed eight overseas production partnerships, reaching a capacity of 580,000 units. In 2024, ChangAn ranked among China's top three auto exporters, with over 500,000 vehicles sold internationally and revenue surpassing $11 billion. The brand expanded into 20 new countries, entering over 100 globally, and now operates 1,150 sales channels. "This year, we will accomplish the setup and of the Middle East, Australian and UK subsidiary, and accelerate operations in high-potential markets such as Europe, Brazil, Australia, Indonesia, and we will have 10 regional business entities by 2025." said Mr. Li.
ChangAn continues its push to become a world-class brand, with a strong focus on technological innovation. Mr. Wang Xiaofei, Executive Vice President of ChangAn, shared with the media that the Company has invested more than 40 billion yuan over the past decade in three core new energy areas. Over the next decade, the Company will invest more than 200 billion yuan into future automotive tech, expand its R&D team by 10,000 and develop intelligent car robots and flying cars — with flight tests expected by year-end.
While pursuing high-quality corporate development, ChangAn Automobile has also deeply embedded sustainability into its strategy and operations. In April 2025, the Company released its 2024 ESG Report, highlighting its work in green ecosystems, products and services, and community partnerships. In 2024, ChangAn's new energy vehicle sales reached 735,000 units, cutting carbon emissions by 5.5 million tons throughout its life cycle, equivalent to planting 10,000 hectares of trees, and contributing to the development of a new low-carbon ecosystem through green transformation.

The factory launch is a landmark event of ChangAn's Vast Ocean Plan for global expansion that represents a shift from brand internationalisation to the export of full industries. Over three years, the Company filed over 14,000 patents, with 70% for inventions, averaging 19 per workday, maintaining top R&D rankings. ChangAn fosters global talent focusing on professionalism, youth, internationalisation, and market orientation. Its industrial footprint includes 20 planned factories, with nine KD plants and one full vehicle plant operational. The facility marks a transition from product exports to exporting entire industrial ecosystems. The Rayong factory incorporates manufacturing systems, R&D processes, and supply chain standards, establishing a green, intelligent, and replicable model for sustainable global operations. Coinciding with the launch of the Rayong factory, ChangAn also celebrated the rollout of its 28.59 millionth vehicle, a right-hand drive DEEPAL S05 tailored for global markets. This milestone underscores ChangAn's commitment to its Vast Ocean Plan, which aims to elevate five major overseas markets—Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Central and South America, Europe, and Eurasia—to the same strategic level as its home market in China. By scaling globally with smart manufacturing and localised collaboration, ChangAn is accelerating its transformation into a world-class automobile brand. The Rayong factory spans approximately 245 rai (392,000 square meters), and boasts five workshops, including welding, painting, general assembly, engine assembly, and battery, plus auxiliary functions such as exterior inspection. As a green, energy-efficient facility, it features streamlined operations with daylight optimisation, photovoltaic systems, and greywater/rainwater recycling, reducing per-vehicle energy consumption by around 20%. Automated processes, adaptive conveyance systems, and advanced assembly and testing ensure production efficiency and product quality for diverse market demands. In the future, the CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR brands will be produced at the Rayong Factory, with annual capacity expected to double from 100,000 to 200,000 units by 2027. ChangAn's Vast Ocean Plan reflects global industry trends, with the Rayong Factory marking a major step in its international operation. To date, ChangAn has held brand launches in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Germany. In particular, since launching its Southeast Asia brand initiative in Thailand in November 2023, the company has introduced seven new models to the Thai market including the DEEPAL S07, E07, and AVATR 11, with cumulative sales exceeding 14,000 units, ranking among the top four in Thailand's NEV market. ChangAn's Rayong factory marks the culmination of 41 years of automotive manufacturing expertise. Blending this legacy with local operations, the facility has established a global system standard cultivating international talent. It sets the foundation for replicating ChangAn's global factory standards and serves as a best-practice model for international operations, reflected in four key areas, namely, the application of ChangAn's CPS lean manufacturing system, emphasising leadership, productivity, and performance. The integration of seven operational systems and six core processes forms the core of the Company's lean management strategy, reflecting its commitment to excellence. Leveraging the CAPDS system, the plant strengthens Southeast Asian technical support and engineering development. It focuses on new energy, intelligent systems, adaptive design, and advancing regional product innovation. Built on the CA-PLS framework, Rayong is ChangAn's first international site to standardise production management enabling rapid product launches. The plant marks an innovative, resilient, dual-circulation supply chain linking China and Thailand. RAYONG, Thailand, May 16, 2025 /CNW/ -- ChangAn Automobile ("ChangAn" or "the Company"), an intelligent low-carbon mobility technology company, officially opened its first international new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturing base in Rayong, Thailand, integrating sustainable, low-carbon, flexible manufacturing, and intelligent digital systems that focus on efficiency, cost, and quality. The launch marks a key milestone for ChangAn in its international manufacturing structure and injects advanced intelligent manufacturing power into Thailand's automotive industry. The opening of ChangAn's Rayong Factory marks a new phase of its Vast Ocean Plan, shifting from product exports to industrial globalisation. It showcases the Company's potential in global expansion across products, smart manufacturing, branding, and green, digital innovation. As a key production hub, the plant features five intelligent workshops — including welding, painting, general and engine assembly, and battery — with 90% automation at key quality control stations, among the highest in Thailand's auto industry. The factory incorporates energy-saving and eco-friendly features aligned with green development goals. A 14MW photovoltaic system will provide 45% of the plant's electricity. Recirculating air towers, louvers, natural lighting, and rainwater recycling will cut energy use for lighting and ventilation, improve water efficiency, and lower energy costs by an estimated 5%. ChangAn has implemented an innovative and flexible production system to lower manufacturing costs and efficiently build high-value vehicles. The welding workshop features 39 robots and advanced material-joining methods, including FDS, EPS, and SPR, delivering strength beyond traditional connection techniques. The painting workshop uses 29 robots and advanced spraying to extend paint life to 15 years and reduce emissions by 40%, while the assembly line features 140 stations, including 18 fully and 125 semi-automated units. Technologies such as automated seal adjustment and AGV vehicles allow for multi-model and multi-power production. The power workshop supports engine and battery production, including ultra-precise engine tile-matching and visual guidance across 22 battery processes. Forty-five AGVs create a flexible, responsive manufacturing and transport system. As a digital-first factory, ChangAn employs a full-stack digital ecosystem with a microservice architecture for 100% online operations. The entire manufacturing process is scheduled in real time, improving supply chain coordination and reducing the order delivery cycle from 21 days to 15 days. The ChangAn Quality Operating System (CAQOS) ensures comprehensive quality management across supplier parts, vehicle production, and market services. During production, 77 surveillance cameras and 62 foolproof checkpoints are used, creating 71 quality containment processes to ensure end-to-end quality across parts, production, and market services. Looking forward, ChangAn aims to localise 80% of production at its Rayong Factory, create 30,000 jobs, and support low-carbon growth and talent development for Thailand's green transition. Positioned as a hub for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, ChangAn plans to exceed 5 million global and 3 million new energy vehicle sales by 2030. Over the next three years, it will launch 12 new energy models and expand AI features. A new Rayong parts centre will support right-hand drive markets with 24-hour delivery.
