ALBAWABA- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the ceasefire with Hamas will end if kidnapped Israeli soldiers are not released by Saturday afternoon, vowing to resume intense fighting until Hamas is completely defeated. Netanyahu stated that Israel supports U.S. President Donald Trump's "revolutionary vision" for Gaza, a plan that reportedly includes the deportation of Palestinian residents.
According to Channel 12, Israeli officials expect the release of nine prisoners in the coming days under the first phase of the agreement.
However, they insist that Hamas has violated the ceasefire terms and that no further negotiations will take place for a second phase until all hostages are returned.
The Israeli Cabinet has reportedly approved Trump's proposal for the displacement of Gaza's population, a move that could significantly alter the course of the conflict.
Israeli sources indicate that Netanyahu, encouraged by Trump's stance, seeks to modify the next phase of the ceasefire agreement to facilitate this plan.
Reports from Israel Hayom suggest that the Ministerial Council may have endorsed measures to expedite the evacuation of Gaza's residents, further escalating tensions in the region

Aid for over 200,000 people ready in Amman, just hours from Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced Friday that its warehouse in Amman, located just a three-hour drive from Gaza, holds enough humanitarian supplies to support more than 200,000 people for an entire month. In a post on X, the agency said that flour, food parcels, hygiene kits, blankets, and medical supplies are fully stocked and ready for immediate delivery. UNRWA stressed the urgent need for these supplies to reach Gaza without delay or obstruction. Jordan, in ongoing international discussions, has reiterated the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and a swift end to the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the besieged strip. The Kingdom continues to call for the full opening of all border crossings to allow immediate and sufficient humanitarian aid into all areas of Gaza and to enable UN agencies to distribute it effectively. Jordan has also condemned what it describes as the 'Israeli' government's inhumane starvation tactics and emphasized that stopping these policies must be a top international priority. It warned that the brutality of Israeli Occupation's assault on Gaza and its systematic starvation strategy have crossed all boundaries and violated every humanitarian and international legal standard, calling for urgent global intervention.

Discover terms of new US ceasefire proposal for Gaza

A new US-backed proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza includes a 60-day truce, with the first week involving the release of 28 'Israeli' captives - both alive and deceased - in exchange for 125 Palestinian political prisoners sentenced to life terms and the return of 180 bodies of Palestinians killed, according to Reuters. According to the report, the plan would be guaranteed by US President Donald Trump, with Egypt and Qatar serving as mediators. The proposal also calls for the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza upon Hamas' signing of the truce agreement. In the final phase of the deal, Hamas would release the remaining 30 'Israeli' captives, contingent on a permanent ceasefire being implemented. The White House announced Thursday that Israeli Occupation has accepted the proposal. Hamas, meanwhile, stated that it is reviewing the plan's terms and will provide a formal response within two days.

Macron: Recognizing Palestine Is a moral and political duty

Published May 30th, 2025 - 08:33 GMT ALBAWABA - According to French President Emmanuel Macron, if certain requirements are fulfilled, acknowledging a Palestinian state is both a moral obligation and a political necessity. Macron stressed at a news conference in Singapore on Friday that if Europe does not effectively address the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, it would have to take a more assertive collective stand against Israel. The release of hostages held by Hamas, the disarming of the organization, and its exclusion from ruling any future Palestinian state are among the requirements Macron listed for France's possible recognition of Palestine. He also demanded that the future Palestinian state recognize Israel's right to exist and live in security, as well as changes within the Palestinian Authority. Another need was to establish a framework for regional security. The French president's comments coincide with increasing Western pressure on Israel. France, the United Kingdom, and Canada issued a united statement earlier this week warning that Israel might face consequences if it does not stop its military operations in Gaza and relax restrictions on humanitarian supplies. The statement demanded that people have prompt access to supplies and denounced the growing misery in Gaza. BREAKING: French President Macron says recognizing a Palestinian state is a moral also said Europe must harden stance on Israel and that recognising a Palestinian state was a political necessity. Talk is cheap. Do it. Source: France24 — ADAM (@AdameMedia) May 30, 2025 Macron already alluded to France's plan to recognize Palestine when he said in an interview in April that it may happen in June. He made it clear that this action will be performed when the time was right, not to please anybody. Additionally, he said he hoped such acknowledgment would persuade Palestinian officials to accept Israel's legitimacy. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has harshly criticized the plan, rejecting the notion of a Palestinian state within what he claims is Israel's territory. Such a state, according to Netanyahu, would be an existential danger as it aims to destroy Israel. Macron's remarks indicate that diplomatic recognition of Palestine may develop into a concerted campaign by many countries in reaction to the continuing humanitarian catastrophe, reflecting rising European dissatisfaction with Israel's conduct of the Gaza War. © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (
