Nirmal: Man gets 6 years in prison for killing wife
Nirmal: A district court on Monday sentenced a man for six years in prison for killing his wife, and slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on him here on Monday.
The court found accused Palakar Sainath guilty of pouring kerosene and setting his wife ablaze in a fit of rage. Before succumbing to her injuries the victim gave a dying declaration which became key evidence in the case. After reviewing the evidence, Principal District and Sessions Judge of Srivani, sentenced the accused to 6 years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 2,000.
On this occasion, SP G Janaki Sharmila commended the Nirmal police and prosecution team for their strategic handling of the case and emphasized the department's commitment to public safety and justice. She added that the police will continue to ensure that criminals face strict legal action and that necessary evidence is presented in court for securing convictions.

To save money, Yin first worked as a sales assistant, model, and live streamer while working at a Beijing hotel. But that was never enough. In March 2021, Yin joined local dating and social chat groups while working at a karaoke bar in Shanghai. Self-assured, she rebranded herself as a socialite to attract wealthy men. She took courses on fine dining, wine tasting, and etiquette, maintained a rigorous fitness regimen, and used most of her savings for plastic surgery. Confident of her newly acquired skills and abilities, Yin started dating wealthy men and living in their opulent residences in Shanghai. She robbed them once they were away. She even employed expert movers to clear out entire homes, stealing everything from furniture and appliances to handbags and designer belts. She then sold everything on online marketplaces for used goods. In a matter of months, Yin allegedly stole almost 200,000 yuan (US$30,000) from eight men. Fearing public humiliation, the majority of her victims remained silent. Yin's ninth lover, Zhang, caught her in the act after he installed security cameras inside his house and watched his alleged lover looting his house. She was taken into custody and charged with fraud and theft. Despite her extensive robberies, Yin lived a modest lifestyle, renting a basement room in a Shanghai hotel, using free makeup samples, and spending less than 30 yuan (US$4) each day. "All I wanted was money to purchase a home. I didn't spend recklessly," she told the police. Yin Xue was raised in a poor household in rural Hunan, central China. Her desire to have a "luxurious life" stemmed from attending an extravagant wedding when she was only 18. The couple's expensive clothing, villa, and private staff made Yin envious and ambitious.

In a shocking turn of events, Bengali film producer Shyam Sunder Dey has accused popular TV actors Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma of abducting him during a recent trip to Goa. His wife, Malabika, has lodged a police complaint, and the couple has been booked under serious charges. Dey spoke to Times of India and revealed that the incident happened while he was on vacation in Goa with his family. After five days, his family flew back home, but he stayed on for some work. One day, while he was driving, things took a terrifying turn. 'It came out of nowhere and forced me to a halt. Two men got down, approached me, and insisted I step out. At first, I refused. But then I noticed Puja Banerjee, who has been like a sister to me, was present," he said, describing how a black Jaguar blocked his car on a busy road. Trusting Puja's presence, Dey stepped out of the car and was allegedly taken to a villa. 'I stayed at the villa from June 1 to June 4. I wasn't allowed to leave. Every day I tried to reason with Puja and Kunal; I reminded them we were like family, pleaded with them to stop. But all I faced were threats," he claimed. According to Dey, things got violent. He alleged that Kunal, along with a few others, beat him up in front of Puja and even confiscated his phone except one. 'When they began pressing me to sign property papers, I realised this had gone too far," he said. Using the only phone left near him, Dey secretly sent his location and a video to his wife, shot inside a bathroom. Malabika immediately contacted the authorities, and on June 4, he was rescued from the villa. Following the complaint, Puja, Kunal, and their associate Piyush Kothari have been charged with abduction, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and extortion under several sections of the BNS. Malabika later took to Facebook to share her side. She said the couple had threatened to falsely frame her husband in a drug case unless he gave them money. She added that they made him transfer Rs 23 lakh, even though they had initially demanded Rs 64 lakh. So far, Puja and Kunal haven't responded to the accusations. Interestingly, just a few days ago, the couple had posted online claiming that someone close to them had scammed them out of all their savings.

Money laundering case: ED summons ex-MP DK Suresh over Rs 25 crore fraud by impostor claiming to be his sister
HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to D.K. Suresh , former Member of Parliament and brother of Karnataka deputy chief minister D.K. Shivakumar, in connection with a money laundering investigation involving a woman identified as Aishwarya Gowd. He must appear on June 19. The case pertains to allegations against Aishwarya Gowd, who is currently in judicial custody after being arrested by the ED. The woman is accused of duping multiple individuals by impersonating connections with high-profile figures. Among her claims was an assertion that she was related to D.K. Suresh, which has now drawn the agency's attention toward verifying the facts. Earlier, Ex-MP D.K. Suresh filed a complaint with the Bengaluru police chief against Aishwarya Gowda for the 'misuse' of his name in cheating a city-based jeweller of Rs 8.41 crores. The ED has already seized several luxury vehicles as part of the probe. Investigators are now examining the financial trail and the extent of the impersonation. Summoning D.K.
