The national capital on Saturday recorded a minimum temperature of 26.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).The IMD has forecast a clear sky with the maximum temperature likely to settle around 40 degrees Celsius. Strong surface winds are expected on Sunday, the weather office said.Relative humidity was recorded at 60 per cent at 8:30 am.The air quality was recorded in the moderate category as the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am read 169, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.

Stage-I GRAP measures enforced in NCR as Delhi AQI plunges to 'poor'
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): In view of rising pollution levels, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has enforced Stage-I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR with immediate effect. The action came after Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 209, which falls under the 'Poor' category. The decision was a comprehensive review by the CAQM Sub-Committee, which convened on Saturday and reviewed the air quality scenario in the region, as well as the IMD/IITM forecasts and air quality index of Delhi comprehensively. 'The AQI of Delhi has shown an increasing trend and has been recorded at 209 for 07.06.2025. Further, the forecast by IMD/IITM also predicts AQI to mainly remain in 'Poor' category in coming days,' said the statement from CAQM 'The Sub-Committee, accordingly, decides to invoke all actions under Stage-I ('Poor' Air Quality) of the extant GRAP in the entire NCR, with immediate effect,' it added. On May 18 following the subsequent decrease in the air pollution levels, the CAQM revoked the Stage-I measures of the Graded Response Action Plan across the entire NCR. An AQI rating is categorised as follows: 0-50 (good), 51-100 (satisfactory), 101-200 (moderate), 201-300 (poor), 301-400 (very poor), and 401-500 (severe). (ANI)

No summer showers, temp hovers near 40 in Bhopal
Bhopal: Summer heat is back in Bhopal in between long wait for pre-monsoon showers. The temperature over a number of places in the state remained at 40 degrees or above. The rise in temperatures was expected to continue over the next few days. The day temperature in Bhopal on Saturday was recorded at 39.8 degrees Celsius, a degree less than the normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 26.4 degrees Celsius, a degree less than the normal mark. Day temperature in Khajuraho was 42.2 degrees celsius. In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday the meteorological dept stated there would be partly cloudy sky with chances of thundering activities in the late evening and night hours. Day and night temperature would be respectively 39 degrees celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, while average wind speed will be twenty kilometers per hour. In the forecast for the state the meteorological dept issued warning of thunderstorm with lightning, gusty wind 40 kmph-50 kmph at isolated places in Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Anuppur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, and Pandhurna dists. A warning of thunderstorm with lightning, wind 30 kmph-40 kmph at isolated places was underlined for Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur districts in the state. A possibility of rainfall or drizzle with thunderstorm, lightning at isolated places was underlined for Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar, Anuppur, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat and Pandhurna dists. A dry weather would prevail over remaining dists in the state. In the weather outlook the Met department forecasts a gradual increase in temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next four days.

Heat wave revives, pre-monsoon activity likely to start by June 15
1 2 Jaipur: Heat wave revived in the state Saturday when majority of places witnessed a rise of almost five degrees Celsius in their minimum and maximum temperatures. Jaisalmer remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius was recorded. The Met office said heat wave is likely to aggravate in the coming days. The Jaipur Met office said that pre-monsoon activity is likely to start in the state by June 15 and the monsoon is likely to enter Rajasthan by June 20. The heat wave also affected drinking water supply in many villages in districts, including Jaisalmer, Barmer, Dausa, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Churu and Bikaner. People in Jaipur witnessed a comparatively warmer morning after almost a week when a minimum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius was recorded. In the afternoon, a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius was recorded. The revival of the heat wave affected drinking water supply in many areas in Jhotwara, Khirni Phatak, Bhankrota, Murlipura, Shastri Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, and Jhalana Dungari. In many places, residents are booking water tankers which are charging Rs 500 to Rs 800 per tanker.
