Lyon agree deal to sign USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner from Nottingham Forest
Lyon have agreed a deal to sign USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner from Nottingham Forest. The two clubs have agreed a fee of €8million (£6.74m) for the 30-year-old, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Crystal Palace and was part of the squad that lifted the FA Cup in May, the first major trophy in the club's history. Advertisement Turner made his professional debut in 2017 for the United Soccer League's (USL) Richmond Kickers while on loan from the New England Revolution. He became New England's first-choice goalkeeper in 2018 and made his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut that season. He made 111 appearances for the club in total, keeping 24 clean sheets. In June 2022, Turner signed for Arsenal and spent the 2022-23 campaign as the back-up goalkeeper behind Aaron Ramsdale, featuring in seven games. Upon the arrival of David Raya at the club in the summer of 2023, Turner moved to Nottingham Forest, signing a four year deal. He went on to make 21 appearances for Forest as the side finished 17th in the table, escaping relegation to the Championship. Turner made four appearances last season serving as second-choice behind Dean Henderson. He has been capped 51 times by the U.S. and started all four of the team's games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Brazilian Lucas Perri was Lyon's No. 1 goalkeeper last season, starting all but one of the club's Ligue 1 games as the side finished sixth. In November, Lyon were provisionally relegated from Ligue 1 and handed a transfer ban after a French audit demanded that they improve their financial situation. Club president John Textor pushed back strongly at the time against any suggestion that Lyon could be banned from Europe and is confident the club's finances are in order. Boly talks ongoing but Toffolo to leave
Nottingham Forest remain in talks with out-of-contract defender Willy Boly. The centre-back's deal expires at the end of the month but Forest are keen to extend his stay. Boly, who also played under Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves, made nine appearances for the club as they finished seventh in the Premier League last season. Advertisement The 34-year-old has made 46 appearances since joining from Wolves in 2022, scoring three goals. Harry Toffolo will leave the City Ground when his deal ends in a few weeks. The left-back made 57 appearances, scoring once, after arriving from Huddersfield in 2022, and played just four times in the Premier League last season. Alex Moreno has returned to Aston Villa following the expiry of his loan. The left-back played 19 times for Forest, making 11 league starts, after arriving on loan last August. Meanwhile, the club is still talking to goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey about a future role at the City Ground.

Michail Antonio nears West Ham exit as new deal agreement proves elusive
Michail Antonio is likely to leave West Ham when his contract expires at the end of this month. The forward has been working towards a return to action after suffering a broken leg in a car crash six months ago but is yet to reach an agreement over a new deal with the club. West Ham have supported Antonio's recovery and have offered him a short-term deal on a reduced salary, with further pay included based on appearances. The 35-year-old, whose current wage is around £90,000 a week, wants more guaranteed money and a longer-term contract. The impasse means Antonio, who scored only once in 15 games before his crash last season, is moving towards the exit. Advertisement Related: How every Premier League club's summer business is shaping up Antonio, who has scored 83 goals since joining West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015, has made quicker progress than expected during his rehabilitation. He was hopeful of convincing Graham Potter to play him at the end of last season and is keen to prove his fitness by representing Jamaica at the Gold Cup this summer. The Hammers, meanwhile, are looking to rejuvenate Potter's squad this summer and are looking to sign a young striker. A final call has not been made on Antonio, though, with the club clear that he is being treated differently to other players departing when their contracts expire on 30 June. Antonio has been listed as a free transfer for administrative purposes. 'Given Michail Antonio's unique situation, following his serious road traffic accident in December 2024, there will be no formal decision and announcement on his future until such time that it is considered right and appropriate,' read a club statement. 'However, as his current contract is also due to expire on 30 June, for the purposes of the Premier League Retained List procedure at the end of the 2024-25 season, Michail will be listed as a free transfer. 'As a long-serving, highly-respected player, and a much-loved member of the West Ham family, the club's absolute priority at this time is to support Michail personally in his journey to resume playing at the highest level.' West Ham added that Kurt Zouma, who spent last season on loan at Saudi Pro League club Al-Orobah FC, will leave.
