Delhi court suspends ED's Look Out Circulars against Gopal Kanda, others in money laundering case
New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Tuesday suspended the Look Out Circulars (LOCs) issued against applicant Gopal Kanda, Gobind Kumar Goyal and Lakh Ram Goyal for six months till December 3, 2025.
They sought the cancellation/suspension of LOCs in a money laundering case linked to Supertech Ltd.
Special Judge Jitendra Singh suspended the LOCs opened against Gopal Goyal alias Gopal Kanda, Govind Kumar Goyal and Lakh Ram Goyal after hearing the submissions of their advocates and Special Public Prosecutor for Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Gopal Kanda, his brother Gobind Kumar Goyal and Son Lakh Ram Goyal had moved the application for cancellation/suspension of LOCs. This case is connected with Ram Kishor Arora and Supertech Ltd.
Special public prosecutor (SPP) N K Matta along with Mohd. Faizan appeared for the ED. They opposed the applications.
The ED filed a supplementary prosecution complaint against Goyal brothers on January 17 this year.
It was stated that when Gopal Goyal was going to Singapore on November 2, 2023, he was stopped at Indira Gandhi International airport on the pretext of LOC opened against him by ED in this case.
It was stated that LOC is illegal and unwarranted, as the applicant joined and cooperated in the investigation. The court has yet to take cognisance of the supplementary prosecution complaint.
In another application, Gobind Goyal stated that the ED had opened LOC against his nephew Lakh Ram Goyal and brother Gopal Goyal.
In third application moved by Lakh Ram Goyal, it was stated that he had not been arrayed as accused in the complaint. He had joined and cooperated in the investigation by ED.
It is further stated that Lakh Ram was stopped at the airport on December 21, 2024, on the pretext of an LOC being opened against him. He was travelling from Goa to Bengaluru with his family.
This case is connected with Ram Kishor Arora and Supertech Ltd. A Prosecution complaint was filed on August 24, 2023.
The court noted that Patiala House court has already taken cognizance of prosecution complaint on September 26, 2023 and issued summons to Ram Kishor Arora, M/s Supertech Ltd. and others accused.
The court will consider the supplementary prosecution complaint against the Goyal brothers and arguments on the charge on June 6. (ANI)

Maharashtra Sadan case: ED returned ‘wet, torn' passports, Bhujbal tells PMLA court
In a submission made before a Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) court, Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal said last week that his passport was returned to him 'wet and torn' due to a fire that broke out in the office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Mumbai on April 27. A similar submission was also made by his son, Pankaj, in a separate application before the court last week. Bhujbal and Pankaj had been named as accused in a case filed by the ED in connection with the Maharashtra Sadan case, and their bail conditions required them to deposit their passports with the ED. A fire had broken out at the Ballard Estate office of the ED on April 27. Both Bhujbal and his son had in April sought permission from the court to travel abroad and sought for their passports to be returned to them for that purpose. Two days after the fire, the court had on April 29 allowed the two to travel abroad. Their passports were returned to them on May 13. However, they submitted to the court that the passports were returned 'wet and torn'. Worried that it may cause problems during immigration, the duo applied for new passports via tatkal to expedite their travel. Bhujbal informed the court that this took time as he had to then also obtain fresh Schengen visas, and hence he had to alter his travel dates. From his earlier permitted dates between May 24 to June 8, he sought further permission to travel till June 12. Pankaj had also made the same submission. The ED opposed their pleas for the extension, stating that they may abscond and delay the trial, which is yet to commence. 'It is pertinent to note that the accused (is) already permitted to travel abroad. The passport of the applicant (was) wet and torn in the office of the Enforcement Directorate. Considering the reasons put forth in the application, it is allowed. Extension for travel for the period of four days is granted up to the period of June 12 under the same terms and conditions imposed in the order dated April 29, 2025,' special judge Satyanarayan Navander said in an order passed on June 2. A fire had broken out at the ED Mumbai Zonal office-I on the fourth floor of the Kaiser-I-Hind building in Ballard Estate around 2.25 am on April 27. The fire had been doused in over an hour, suspected to have been caused due to a short circuit. The ED in a statement had then said that certain documents and furniture had been damaged but that evidentiary documents related to investigations were also stored in digital format, therefore no impediment in conducting investigation or trial is expected.

At an estimated cost of over ₹ 43,000 crore, the USBRL project involved laying out ballastless tracks over bridges and tunnels, spanning deep gorges. Ninety per cent of the route was traversed over 943 bridges and 36 main tunnels, including India's longest railway tunnel, T-50, which stretched more than 12.7 km. Also, on the Katra-Banihal section, the Vande Bharat train will also traverse another engineering marvel: the Anji Khad bridge, India's first cable-stayed bridge. Supported by 96 cables, the 725-meter-long bridge stands 331 meters above mean sea level.
