Promising review:"I bought this bag for my trip to Paris. The ability for the bag to convert from a bookbag to crossbody was invaluable when on the metro or in busy areas when I wanted to keep it on my front side. I definitely recommend it!" — Free People Customer

ICE detains the most followed person on TikTok, Khaby Lame
(NewsNation) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reportedly detained the most-followed creator on TikTok on Friday. Khaby Lame, whose full name is Seringe Khabane Lame, is an Italian-Senegalese influencer. He was detained for immigration violations at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to USA Today. Lame, 25, is a current citizen of Italy and reportedly 'overstayed the terms of his visa,' ICE reported. ICE allegedly gave Lame the option to depart the country voluntarily after he was detained, and Lame chose to leave the U.S. Lame became famous during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was laid off from his job in Italy. He uses the hashtag 'learnfromkhaby' on most of his videos, and he follows along as another creator talks about a complicated hack. Once he watches the 'hack,' he shows himself easily completing it, typically without saying anything. Lame is reportedly an ambassador for the men's clothing company Boss. He is also an ambassador for Binance and UNICEF. Lame moved from Senegal to Italy as a baby, but as The Associated Press reported, he didn't gain Italian citizenship until 2022. In 2024, he was named one of People's Creators of the Year. He told the publication at the time, 'Before TikTok, I was working in a factory. I had a lot of different jobs. I was helping support my family — three little brothers, one older brother and my parents. Then my world changed completely. It's a whole different life now.' Lame's detainment is one small part of President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown. During his presidential campaign, he had promised to create mass deportations, which have led to ICE raiding workplaces, airports and more across the country.

World's most followed TikToker Khaby Lame self deports after ICE detention
Khaby Lame, the most followed person on TikTok, has voluntarily left the United States after being briefly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement last week for overstaying the terms of his visa. Lame, whose real name is Serigne Khabane Lame, is a Senegalese- Italian TikToker known for his deadpan reactions to other videos. His viral videos have earned him a following of more than 162 million. But on June 6, Lame was detained at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for violating the terms of his visa, ICE said in a statement. Lame, 25, had entered the U.S. on April 30 on a temporary visa. While in the country, Lame attended the Met Gala in New York City. 'Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the U.S.,' an ICE spokesperson said. It's unclear if Lame returned to Italy immediately. As of Tuesday, Lame had posted an Instagram Story of himself in São Paulo, Brazil. Lame's experience with immigration enforcement arrives as President Donald Trump directs local, state, and federal law enforcement to assist in carrying-out his long-promised mass deportation agenda. News of the popular TikToker's detainment sent ripples across social media, with many of Lame's followers acknowledging his run-in with immigration law enforcement in his comment section, despite his videos having nothing to do with the incident. 'Sad to hear. But laws have to be followed wherever you go. No exceptions. Even if you don't agree with them. In any country, you have to follow THEIR laws, not your beliefs, wants, or desires. Hang in there @khaby00 and make it all legal! You are loved by so many!' One person wrote on an Instagram post from 2023. 'Bro ain't deported just winning,' one commenter wrote on an unrelated sponsored post. 'Is it true you were captured by ICE?' A person wrote on one of Lame's Instagram videos. Lame has not publicly commented on accusations of overstaying his visa. The interest in Lame's encounter with ICE arrives as other influencers are using their platform to raise awareness of the lack of due process associated with the Trump administration's mass deportation raids in Los Angeles and other cities.

Eddington Trailer Previews Ari Aster's Polarizing Western Movie With Pedro Pascal
A new trailer for has been released. Eddington is the forthcoming A24 movie that is written and directed by Ari Aster. A contemporary Western starring Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix, the movie will be released in United States theaters next month. Check out the new Eddington trailer and poster below (watch more trailers and clips): The Eddington trailer previews tension between Phoenix and Pascal's characters, as both of them live in a small town in which everyone is angry at their neighbors, largely because of the COVID-19 pandemic. 'In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico,' the official synopsis reads. The cast of the movie also includes Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O'Connell, Michael Ward, Clifton Collins Jr., Amélie Hoeferle, and William Belleau. Eddington had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last month. The movie received polarizing reviews from critics; some, like Indiewire's David Ehrlich, praised its satirical take on COVID and modern times, while others, such The Times' Kevin Maher, felt that Eddington feels 'unsure of what it wants to say.' The film currently has a 65 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes with 49 reviews. Aster found himself in a similar position when Beau Is Afraid was released in 2023, as that movie also received mixed reviews. Prior to that, Aster directed Hereditary in 2018 and Midsommar in 2019. 'I felt like [Aster] wrote something that was all our worst fears as that lockdown experience was already a fracturing society,' Pascal said of the movie, via IndieWire, at Cannes. This was building toward an untethered sense of reality. There is a point of not going back. I was overwhelmed by that fear, and it's wonderful that it was confirmed by Ari.' Eddington will be released in United States theaters on July 18, 2025, from A24.
