Police arrest three for drug trafficking in Sungai Buloh
KUALA LUMPUR: Police successfully dismantled a drug trafficking network with the arrest of three men in a coordinated operation last Thursday. The suspects, aged between 28 and 42, were allegedly involved in distributing drugs across Sungai Buloh and Hulu Selangor.
Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor stated that the first suspect was apprehended in Kampung Baru Subang, Sungai Buloh, leading to the subsequent arrests of two others in Bukit Beruntung.
'Total value of the drugs seized is estimated to be between RM30,000 and RM40,000. Preliminary investigations show that the modus operandi of this network is to order cannabis from neighbouring countries, which is sent via local courier companies before being sold in Klang Valley,' he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 24).
Authorities confiscated 1,006.5 grams of cannabis, 40.93 grams of heroin, 57.56 grams of yaba pills, 3.32 grams of ecstasy pills, and 0.82 grams of syabu. The suspects have been remanded for five to seven days from June 20 to 26 under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Three Friends Acquitted Of Drug Trafficking
IPOH, June 25 (Bernama) -- Three men were acquitted and discharged by the High Court here today of a drug trafficking charge involving 1.14 kilograms of cannabis, six years ago. Judge Datuk Bhupindar Singh Gucharan Singh Preet ruled that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the accused - Mohd Nazreen Hazim Abdullah Satar, 35, Mohd Suhaimi Ahmad, 42, and Muhammad Shafiq Shamsuddin, 38. 'As such, all three are acquitted and discharged,' he said. The judge added that the prosecution was unable to prove key elements of the charge, including the identity of the drugs and discrepancies in their weight, with a significant variance of about 90 grams. The trio had been jointly charged with trafficking the cannabis at a house on Laluan Pinji Seni 4, Taman Pinji Seni here, around 7.45 pm on Nov 17, 2019. The charge, framed under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, is punishable under Section 39B(2) of the same Act. Upon conviction, it carries either the death penalty or life imprisonment, along with at least 12 strokes of the cane if not sentenced to death. Big drug bust in Tawau nets over 3kg of syabu and foreign man nabbed
TAWAU: Police arrested a foreign man and seized over 3kg of syabu worth RM105,000 near Kampung Indrasabah in a major drug bust. Tawau district police chief Assistant Commissioner Jasmin Hussin said the arrest was made around 3.30pm last Friday by a team from the Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) following a tip-off about drug distribution activities in the area. He said the suspect attempted to flee when approached by police and acted aggressively to avoid arrest, throwing a grey bag labelled "Onestop" onto the ground. "Further investigation revealed the bag contained three green packets of Guanyinwang branded tea. "Each packet held a transparent plastic bag filled with a substance believed to be syabu, weighing a total of 3,085.64 grammes," he said during a press conference today. He said the suspect attempted to flee when approached by police and acted aggressively to avoid arrest, throwing a grey bag labelled "Onestop" onto the ground. "Further investigation revealed the bag contained three green packets of Guanyinwang branded tea. "Each packet held a transparent plastic bag filled with a substance believed to be syabu, weighing a total of 3,085.64 grammes," he said during a press conference today. Jasmin said the suspect, believed to be in his 30s and working as a fisherman, did not possess valid identification documents. He also tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine. "The suspect has been remanded for seven days until June 28 to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. "Police are working to track down the drug distribution network involved and urge the public to come forward with any information related to drug abuse or trafficking activities," he added. Over 3kg of syabu can yield between 60,000 and 300,000 doses, enough to sustain thousands of users depending on dosage and frequency.
