MK Party rejects Julius Malema's claims of white funding and oppressors' money

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) on Wednesday denied claims by EFF leader Julius Malema that it is funded and controlled by whites, saying they will 'never' accept money from the oppressors, 'unlike them who are contemplating to join the white-funded government.'
Speaking to IOL, MKP's National Spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela called on Malema to provide proof that supported his claims.
Ndhlela said they do not want money from white monopoly capital, which it said funded the Government of National Unity (GNU).
'The GNU is a project of the Oppenheimers, and we won't be part of that. If we were funded by whites, we wouldn't have had fund issues during the [2024] elections,' Nhlamulo said.
Malema earlier alleged that all political parties in South Africa, except for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), were controlled by white people.
He added that parties, including the Build One South Africa (BOSA), Patriotic Alliance (PA), United Democratic Movement (UDM), and the Democratic Alliance (DA), were all white-controlled.
But Ndhlela disputed this and claimed that MKP rejected R1.6 billion last year because they did not want to join the unity government, which is a white project.
'We were given this money to be silent on the nationalisation of mines and banks. We couldn't take it because we don't want money from whites,' he said.

Reacting to the decision during the party's media briefing on Tuesday, Hlophe in isiZulu, said 'Ngeke sidlale amajaji la sizodlulisa isinqumo (We are going to appeal the decision).' On Monday, the court set aside a decision by the National Assembly (NA) made in July last year to endorse the recommendation of the MK Party to have him serve as one of its six parliamentarians. Next Stay Close ✕ The JSC was due to conduct interviews for the vacant positions of judges, however, the DA, Freedom Under Law, and Corruption Watch filed an urgent interdict to prevent Hlophe from sitting in the interviews. The court granted an interdict. The matter was heard in February by a full bench of judges from outside the division, after the court previously granted an interdict in favour of the DA, Freedom Under Law, and Corruption Watch, preventing Hlophe from participating in the work of the commission pending this matter. The court said the NA had fundamentally misunderstood the nature of its powers to designate members to serve on the body that interviews candidates to become judges. It added that this seriously threatens the independence of the judiciary and his presence on the JSC would prejudice the commission's ability to do its work. 'Through the impeachment of Dr Hlophe, the National Assembly has effectively already determined that his continued involvement in judicial affairs would diminish public trust,' said the court. It said that by Hlophe trying to appeal this judgment in the first part of this case, he has shown disregard for the authority and integrity of the courts. For this reason, it made an order that a judge removed for gross misconduct may never serve on the JSC. In 2021, the Judicial Conduct Tribunal (JCT) found that Hlophe's conduct breached the provisions of Section 165 of the Constitution and his conduct threatened and interfered with the independence, impartiality of the Constitutional Court. Acting on the recommendations of the JCT, the JSC found Hlophe guilty of attempting to influence two justices of the Constitutional Court to violate their oaths of office to rule in favour of former Jacob Zuma in his arms deal case in 2008. The matter was then referred to the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services, which then recommended to the National Assembly to impeach Hlophe. This was eventually approved by Parliament through a vote last year. This meant that Hlophe was stripped of his lifetime title as a judge as well as other perks including lifetime salary. Cape Argus

MK Party axes Floyd Shivambu as SG over controversial visit with Prophet Shepherd Bushiri
Willem Phungula | Published 3 hours ago The Jacob Zuma-led MK Party (MKP) has fired Floyd Shivambu from his Secretary-General position for an unsanctioned visit with controversial Malawian fugitive Prophet Shepherd Bushiri who fled South Africa in 2020. Bushiri and his wife Mary fled the country in 2020 after being granted bail on charges including fraud and money laundering. A Malawian court recently granted South Africa's request to extradite the couple to face charges, including rape and fraud, and they have indicated their intention to appeal. In a statement read by the party's national chairperson Nkosinathi Nhleko, the party said Shivambu's visit to Bushiri was not sanctioned by the party and violated its' constitution. The party also announced that Shivambu will be redeployed to parliament. Jacob Zuma attended the press conference to announce Shivambu's axing on Tuesday in Durban and there were signs before the conference even started that Shivambu no longer part of the top leadership - he chose to sit closer to the media contingent and away from Zuma. 'On Monday, President Jacob Zuma met with the National Officials of uMkhonto weSizwe Party, to reflect on the state of the organisation. As part of the deliberations of the national officials, the matter pertaining to the recent trip undertaken by the Secretary General Floyd Shivambu to Malawi was reflected upon. "After lengthy discussions and considerable inputs from the national officials, it was concluded that the actions by (Shivambu) were found to be against the spirit and the prescripts of the MK Party Constitution. Most specifically, Section 3 (j) under 'Offences', which stipulates the following: j) Undertaking international trips and participating in activities and programmes that are opposed to the agenda of the MK Party or an allied party,' Nhleko said, reading from the statement In addition, the party said the visit came after the Republic of Malawi's Chief Resident Magistrate delivered a ruling that granted South Africa request for extradition. 'Based on the deliberations by the National Officials, it was reaffirmed that the trip was not an officially sanctioned programme of the organisation or the President, which therefore goes against the constitution of the party. "Due to the serious nature of this matter and its implications for the party, its image, values and principles, The President and the n ational officials were left with no other option but to act swiftly in addressing this m atter,' Nhleko said. Shivambu joined the MKP from the EFF in August last year and was immediately appointed as the national organiser, in November he was elevated to the position Secretary-General. In response, Shivambu said he had accepted that he had been removed as Secretary-General, saying he regretted his decision to go to Malawi. He also thanked Zuma for entrusting him with high positions in the party. Despite the party's citing of Shivambu's Malawi trip, dissenting voices within the party have also accused him giving senior positions to newcomers while overlooking founding members. Shivambu last month said no party member had raised their unhappiness with him in formal meetings of the party and he would not entertain faceless voices on social media platforms. [email protected]
