Rosie O'Donnell slams 'gaudy' Donald Trump and claims he's 'failed at almost everything'

Comedian
Rosie O'Donnell
has taken aim at President
Donald Trump
yet again and accused him of being "obsessed" with her.
Rosie, 63, who
made the decision to move to Ireland
when Trump came back into power, opened up about
her fallout with the 78-year-old
during an appearance on
The Jim Acosta Show
.
The duo were talking about Trump Towers, when Jim recounted his first impressions saying: "I go in there and I'm like, why is this place such a dump? Why does it look so s****y? Like the gold plating and stuff was kind of faded and you would go down to the men's room and it was like. Wow. This is kind of like Penn Station. I mean, it's not that."

Rosie was quick to offer her opinion, and replied, "Yes. Well, he has no taste. He is very gaudy. He thinks that gold lame will fool people and, you know, he would probably sell it as gold if he had a chance. His steaks went out of business." She then went on to make her own shocking claim about a bottle of Trump booze that she was gifted.

"I remember I had somebody give me... he had some liquor company at one point and somebody gave me a bottle, closed bottle of his liquor with two bugs in it. Like there were two dead flies in it and in a sealed bottle of liquor,' Rosie claimed.
"Wow!" Jim replied, as Rosie added: "And I kept it on the counter for many, many years. But I, you know, this man has failed at almost everything he's ever tried and to think that so many people believe the lie that Mark Burnett told over and over."
Elsewhere in the chat, when Jim noted that Trump seems to be "obsessed" with Rosie, she responded: "Yes, he does. He does seem to be obsessed."
Elaborating further, she said: "You know, he had Miss America pageant, Miss Teen America, this Tara O'Connor, I believe her name was, and she was in the village. She kissed a girl, she was drunk and the Post printed it. And he, right before the view was live, had a press conference to make her publicly apologize. And it looked to me a lot like a pimp and a prostitute. And I said that on The View.

"And then I proceeded to tell factual, accurate information. About his bankruptcies, about how he was not a self-made man. I told facts that anyone could have Googled and found out. And he went bats--t crazy."
Just earlier this month, Rosie hit headlines when she fled the US with her 12-year-old child Clay and relocated to Ireland.
In a bizarre sequence of events, the View host is said to have left behind the rest of her family to 'escape
Donald Trump
's policies,' including her daughter Chelsea, who she has now reportedly cut out of her will.
Clay, who at 12, is the youngest of the comedian's five adopted children. The actress also has Parker, 29, Blake, 25, and daughters Chelsea, 27, Vivienne, 22.

After O'Donnell opened about the health benefits of relocating to Ireland from the US, it has now been reported The View host, 63, cut her daughter out of her '$80,000,000' estate in the days before she left.
"Chelsea really didn't care that Rosie wrote her out,' a source told the
Daily Mail
. Money is what allowed for Rosie to send her away to six or seven boarding schools during her lifetime.
"Rich people can pay someone else to raise their kids. Middle- or lower-class parents actually have to be parents, they can't ship their kids off at the first sign of trouble,' the source added.
Since her grandparents were Irish, the former talk show host is eligible to get citizenship, but said her application has yet to be approved.

The real side of K-pop idols, captured in these must-watch Youtube series

'Run Jin' with BTS's Jin After finishing his mandatory military service, Jin approached his solo content with the energy of someone who genuinely missed entertaining people. Hosted on the Bangtan TV channel, his show captures the idol's endearing unpredictability—you're never quite sure if he'll triumph or spiral into hilarious disaster. From hiking mountains to channelling his inner action hero as 'Jin Wick', every episode feels like an adventure. His recent Tom Cruise collaboration alone makes Run Jin essential viewing, but it's Jin's willingness to look goofy while trying his absolute hardest that makes each episode compelling. His interactions with younger idols like TXT and Enhyphen also showcase his natural mentoring instincts, creating heartwarming moments between the comedy chaos. 'Hyell's Club' with Girl's Day's Hyeri Imagine the cosiest, most exclusive bar where Korea's biggest stars truly open up. Welcome to Hyell's Club , the Youtube show that combines great drinks, a warm and inviting atmosphere and Hyeri's gift for making conversations flow naturally. The idol-actress strikes a balance between curious interviewer and cheeky friend, creating space for genuine moments while keeping things light and entertaining. Whether she's getting tipsy with Enhyphen or talking shop with Seventeen's Woozi, every episode feels like eavesdropping on the best dinner party conversations. Her 3.8 million-view episode with Blackpink's Jennie proves that sometimes the best content comes from just letting interesting people talk. 'Trick Kode with Nayeon' with TWICE's Nayeon Nayeon's detective show concept is brilliantly simple: figure out the mystery guest's identity through puzzling clues, anonymous audio chats (the guest's voice is distorted) and a forensic scroll through their phones. It's the kind of premise that hooks you instantly, and Nayeon's sharp instincts combined with her dramatic reactions create perfect variety show entertainment. The chemistry between Nayeon and her guests—whether she's bickering with fellow Twice member Jeongyeon or being charmed by The Boyz's Younghoon—makes every episode feel like watching friends play an elaborate, high-stakes guessing game. The K-pop idol's intuition kicks in at just the right moments, creating real suspense as she closes in on the truth. 'Hi Seulgi' with Red Velvet's Seulgi Seulgi has created what feels like the chicest personal Instagram come to life. Her artistic eye transforms everyday moments—cooking diaries, workspace setups, casual outfits—into something inspiring. Just like the idol, the vibe is cool, but never out of reach. But the real magic happens during her collaborations. A spontaneous trip to Yangpyeong with Blackpink's Jisoo or a cosy brunch with aespa's Winter doesn't feel staged—it feels like real friendship, captured in motion. These aren't just celeb hangouts for the camera; they're authentic connections, and that warmth translates beautifully on screen. 'Jeongwaja' with Exo's Kai Exo's Kai takes on a new kind of challenge in Jeongwaja ( Changing Majors ), experiencing firsthand what it's like to study various disciplines at universities across South Korea. His academic adventures are comedy gold: watching him navigate chemistry at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) or attempt voice acting creates the perfect combination of secondhand embarrassment and genuine admiration for his willingness to look completely out of his element. His approach differs from typical idol variety content—Kai brings witty commentary that feels more mature while still being genuinely funny. The format allows viewers to experience university life vicariously while enjoying Kai's fish-out-of-water reactions to academic challenges. 'Siebja' with Twice's Jihyo Jihyo's guesthouse adventures tap into something universally appealing—the curiosity about how other people live and travel. Seeing her take on different accommodations, from a low-key Sokcho guesthouse to omakase-serving Jeju locations, is like getting insider travel tips from someone whose judgment you trust. The show works because the leader of Twice approaches each experience with openness and her trademark determination to make everyone around her comfortable. Her willingness to try everything from paragliding to local drinking games creates real moments that are also entertaining. Credits This article was created with the assistance of AI tools

Cannes standing ovations: which films got the loudest love (and lived up to it)?

'Fahrenheit 9/11' (2004) Above Controversial, polarising and a Cannes Palme d'Or winner Cannes reception: The standing ovation for Michael Moore's polarising documentary about the events that led up to the 9/11 terrorist attacks reportedly clocked in at 20 minutes. The documentary took home the Palme d'Or—Cannes' highest honour—becoming only the second documentary ever to do so. Post-Cannes performance: It made history at the box office, becoming the highest-earning documentary ever with over US$222 million in box-office receipts globally. Controversies and detractors aside, it fuelled political discourse and reshaped how audiences and filmmakers engaged with the documentary genre. 'Sentimental Value' (2025) Above This Cannes favourite is already being called one of the best movies of the year Cannes reception: Earning a reported 19-minute standing ovation, Joachim Trier's Norwegian-language family drama made a powerful impression at this year's festival. Not only did it secure the third-longest ovation on record, it also took home the coveted Grand Prix—Cannes' second-highest honour. Post-Cannes performance: How it does beyond Cannes has yet to be seen, but critics are already calling it one of the best films of the year. Winning the Grand Prix has also secured its chances for worldwide release and positioned it as a strong contender for future awards season. 'Mud' (2012) Above 'The McConaissance' started at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Cannes reception: Jeff Nichols' moody coming-of-age tale—often described as having echoes of Mark Twain and starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon—earned an impressive 18-minute standing ovation at its Cannes premiere. Post-Cannes performance: The indie film was well received by critics and performed respectably at the box office, earning US$32 million worldwide against a reported US$10 million budget. It's also widely credited for what's been called 'The McConaissance'—Matthew McConaughey's comeback and shift to more serious roles. After Mud , he starred in other critically acclaimed projects including Dallas Buyers Club , Interstellar and True Detective . 'The Neon Demon' (2016) Above Praised for its stunning visuals, criticised for its weak plot Cannes reception: The polarising psychological horror film about the dark side of the modelling industry from director Nicolas Winding Refn was met with a 17-minute standing ovation at Cannes. Post-Cannes performance: The movie's reception was as divisive as it was at Cannes. While some praised its striking visuals and star Elle Fanning's electric performance, many found the plot paper-thin and the violence unnecessarily excessive.
