SEE THE PICTURE: Jaydon Blue drips out in Dallas Cowboy threads at NFLPA event Jaydon Blue stands out in Cowboys blue at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere.
Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue was among the select group of NFL newcomers featured at the 2025 NFLPA Rookie Premiere, an annual event introducing the league's most marketable first-year players to the business side of professional football.
Blue, a fifth-round pick out of Texas, was the only member of the Cowboys' 2025 draft class invited to the prestigious event, which ran May 14-17 in Los Angeles. He joined 41 other rookies, including former Longhorns teammates Quinn Ewers and Matthew Golden, in activities designed to help players navigate endorsements, trading card deals, and their emerging personal brands.
The NFLPA Rookie Premiere is considered a major milestone for rookies, offering photo shoots in their new team jerseys, autograph sessions, and workshops on building business relationships. Blue made his debut in Cowboys gear during the event, drawing attention for both his on-field potential and off-field marketability.
Blue arrives in Dallas after a productive final season at Texas, where he tallied 730 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, and added 42 receptions for 368 yards and six more scores. Known for his breakaway speed and versatility as a receiver, Blue is expected to compete for snaps in a crowded Cowboys backfield and provide a spark to the offense.
His selection for the Rookie Premiere shows his profile as one of the most promising Day 3 picks in the 2025 draft, and the Cowboys' hope that Blue's explosiveness can translate to the next level. As the only Dallas rookie at the event, Blue's presence also shows the franchises belief in his potential impact both on and off the field. Translating from the elite Longhorn culture to the elite Dallas culture should come easy for Blue.

Micah Parsons Makes Cowboys Announcement for Monday

Micah Parsons Makes Cowboys Announcement for Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - It went from "prank'' to "pep talk'' to "promise.'' Micah Parsons make weekend phone calls to a handful of Dallas Cowboys pals, following up on the viral trend of contacting friends to wish them an out-of-the-blue "goodnight.'' Advertisement Micah called teammates Tyler Smith, Trevon Diggs, Osa Odighizuwa and KaVontae Turpin. ... and then he called his new coach, Brian Schottenheimer. And that's when things took a serious and important turn. "Look, I know this is weird for everybody man, but look, you're handling everything the right way, bro," Schotty said to Parsons, of course referring to Micah's contract negotiations. "This thing's going to get worked out, and again I'm thrilled to see where we take this thing, man. "We're building something special and you're going to be a huge part of it, bro." "Hell yeah!" Parsons responded. Parsons, who recorded himself making the phone calls to post on his TikTok, is of course entangled in negotiations with the Cowboys toward a contract extension that eventually figures to pay him $40 million or so annually, making him one of the richest non-QBs in NFL history. Advertisement Also part of the conversation, as the team begins mandatory minicamp this week? That aforementioned "promise.'' "You know, I feel like player to coach, just checking in on you. Wanted to say goodnight, whole fam as well. See you Monday, you know, excited about next week," Micah said to his first-year head coach. "See you Monday.'' Parsons has been "in and out'' (Schottenheimer's words) for the team's voluntary OTAs, and has all along vowed to not use an offseason holdout as leverage in his contract talks with team owners Jerry and Stephen Jones. Things can change; this is a short session this week (team dinner on Monday and three days of work) and then comes six weeks off before training camp in Oxnard. ... so leverage can still be in play down the line. Advertisement But Micah has stated how important it is to him to be with the team and with this coach. And Schotty's support and endorsement of his All-Pro defensive cornerstone reinforces that same importance. During his short time on the job, Schottenheimer has preached the building of relationships while he focuses on remaining "authentic.'' This listen-behind-the-curtain establishes that ... And accomplishes so much more. "I appreciate the call, man, for real, and I look forward to seeing you Monday,'' the coach told the player. "And it's going to be a great week." Taylor Swift vs. Dallas Cowboys Fuels 'America's Team' Debate

Taylor Swift vs. Dallas Cowboys Fuels 'America's Team' Debate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - Make no mistake, it's good to have Taylor Swift on your side. And the Kansas City Chiefs have - in so many delightful ways - "weaponized'' her fandom, the result of her romantic relationship with tight end Travis Kelce. Advertisement Nevertheless ... No matter what the internet might claim, "America's Team'' is still the Dallas Cowboys. The Kansas City Chiefs are most everything a franchise should aspire to be. They win at the highest level. They've built something special with Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid and, of course, the future Hall of Famer Kelce. And in the last couple of years, they have benefited from the added attention that came with Swift's involvement. The dating life ... the presence at games ... it's all a marketing dream for that team and for the NFL. But "America's Team'' is not a transferable title. It doesn't shift from city to city depending on who wins the Super Bowl. (By the way, if it did, "America's Team'' would be the Philadelphia Eagles ... and nobody wants that.) Advertisement What shifts from city to city is called the "Lombardi Trophy.'' Dallas became "America's Team'' because of success and visibility and marketing, with NFL Films in the late-70's having recognized this and then coining the phrase. Coach Tom Landry hated it. It put a bullseye on his Cowboys. The bullseye remains. And so does the nickname. No matter what. The Cowboys went 7–10 last year and still averaged more viewers per game than almost anyone else in football. Still packed prime-time slots. Still sold merchandise. Still owned headlines. And they did it without a global pop star helping to boost the signal. Advertisement The Thanksgiving Day matchup last year featuring the Cowboys and Giants? 38.8 million viewers, peaking at 41.3 million — the most-watched NFL game of the entire regular season. And that will happen again this year. It's why the NFL's Game 1 is Dallas vs. Philly. It's why this season's Thanksgiving game - KC at Dallas - will likely set new records. It's about branding. And Jerry Jones has no intention of ever letting that slip away. If Taylor Swift shows up at this year's Chiefs-at-Cowboys Thanksgiving game, which will allow both franchises to bask in her glow? The "America's Team'' debate will rage again. But the facts won't change. ... in part because the Cowboys aren't just "America's Team.'' They're America's favorite team to hate. Advertisement Which is, in a way, another form of love. Non-transferable. Dallas Cowboys Must Explore a Jaire Alexander Acquisition

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. This isn't your grandfather's Dallas Cowboys. Sure, most are already aware of that. Something feels off though, and it has for a while. Jerry Jones seems more quiet than usual, and that alone sparks questions. When has he ever met a microphone that he didn't want to be in front of? Where are all the splash signings? What happened to the big spending? Well, on second thought, scratch that last question. There is so much money tied up in a few stars who shall remain nameless that it makes it difficult for Dallas to make a move (or, at the minimum, extend Micah Parsons). Jaire Alexander, Dallas Cowboys news Jaire Alexander, Dallas Cowboys news Photo by/Newsweek/Getty Images That won't stop anyone from connecting a few dots though. Have you heard? One of the NFL's top cornerbacks is a free agent now, and it would behoove Jerry and company to get on the phone and make a few calls. The Cowboys can't afford to be complacent as Jaire Alexander fills a massive need It was the shot heard 'round the NFL on Monday morning. Okay, maybe that's a tad extreme, but it was certainly worth making mention of. Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Packers plan to officially release Jaire Alexander. Crank up the rumor mill, but this isn't some wild theory. There is plenty of reason to connect the dots representing Dallas and the two-time Second-Team All-Pro. Source: #Packers plan to release two-time Pro Bowl corner Jaire Alexander. — Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) June 9, 2025 Cowboys fans were promised a more aggressive offseason. That hasn't happened, but leadership did create an adrenaline rush by trading for George Pickens. That filled what was, at the time, Dallas's biggest need post-draft, an outside wide receiver. The attention shifted back to the secondary. DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs are both capable starters, but no one can guarantee that Diggs will be in the lineup Week 1 when the regular season opens on the road vs. the hated Philadelphia Eagles. Late last year, he underwent surgery to repair cartilage in his knee. The injury concerns don't end there. Dallas selected Shavon Revel Jr. during the third round of the most recent NFL Draft. He was considered a first-round talent. He slid to Say 2 and did so because of an ACL tear. Depth is a huge issue if those two miss time. Jaire Alexander is also injury-prone, but he's certainly better than most of what the Cowboys have on their depth chart. There are concerns though. He missed at least ten games in three of the past four regular seasons, 34 games overall. No one can deny, however, that he is still one of the game's best when available. That doesn't help Dallas if he isn't. Then again, that's no excuse to not get on the phone and make calls. The Cowboys have to do their due diligence and at least inquire about him because they can't afford to ignore the opportunity.
