The caller told him to watch a video spreading on social media of a white officer pinning a Black man to the ground, despite his fading pleas of 'I can't breathe.'

Calgary police are looking for two men who they say broke into a home on Schooner Cove N.W. on July 13, 2025. Calgary police are looking for two people who broke into a northwest home early Friday. At 3:40 a.m., police were called to the 600 block of Schooner Cove N.W. in Scenic Acres for a crash. Investigators later determined the incident was connected to a break-and-enter at a home involving a stolen vehicle. The suspects had fled the scene before police arrived. Officers and canine units conducted an extensive search, but no arrests have been made. Calgary break-and-enter suspects at large Officials believe the suspects are two adult males in their mid-30s who may have stolen another vehicle to flee the area.

Police make arrest in deadly October hit-and-run in Hamilton

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Nick Iwanyshyn Hamilton police have arrested a 20-year-ld man in connection with a deadly hit-and-run on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway last October. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of the highway on the afternoon of Oct. 11, 2024. Police say that a Ford Focus was travelling in the same direction as a Toyota carrying four people when it collided with the vehicle, causing it to roll over. One of the passengers of the Toyota was rushed to hospital where they were pronounced deceased while another passenger sustained serious injuries. The driver and a third passenger both sustained minor injuries. The Ford Focus initially fled the scene but police say that the driver attended a police station 'shortly after.' In a news release issued on Thursday, police confirmed that the driver has now been charged criminally following a 'lengthy and thorough investigation.' Ezatullah Haidari, of Hamilton, is charged with dangerous operation causing death, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, criminal negligence causing death and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

E-scooter rider dead after losing control on Bloor viaduct: police

(Simon Sheehan/CP24) Toronto police say a man in his 50s is dead after he lost control of the e-scooter he was riding on the Bloor viaduct Thursday night. Officers were called to the overpass near Bloor Street and Broadview Avenue just after 9 p.m. for a report of a personal injury collision, police said. The man, who was travelling east, lost control of the scooter and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. It's unclear what caused the crash and police are asking anyone who may have surveillance or dashcam video of the incident to contact them at 416-808-1900.
