Reasons for resignation personal: Uttarakhand-cadre IPS officer Rachita Juyal
Dehradun, Jun 2 (PTI) Ending speculation, IPS officer Rachita Juyal said on Monday that the reason behind her resignation was entirely personal.
Talking to PTI Videos, the 2015-batch Uttarakhand-cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officer said she put in her papers after completing 10 years of service and the reason for the same was 'entirely personal".
Everyone has dreams and aspirations, she said, adding that she is no exception. Juyal said she took the decision after lengthy discussions with her family members.
She said she worked in various important positions over the last 10 years, adding that she is a resident of Uttarakhand and will be associated with the state's welfare in the future as well.
There was speculation that Juyal put in her papers as she was unable to discharge her duties due to administrative interference.
Former state Congress chief Ganesh Gadiyal had claimed that Juyal was pressured to put in her papers after she caught a police officer red-handed while indulging in corrupt activities. PTI DPT RC

"This incident of deaths due to stampede is totally shocking for us. We at BCCI extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. We also pray for the speedy recovery of all those who have been injured. When one organises a victory celebrations of this magnitude, proper precautions, safety and security measures need to be taken. There has been some lapses in some corner somewhere. Due diligence should have been done so that an incident like this could have been avoided," Saikia told news agency PTI. The BCCI secretary also expressed concern about the ongoing celebrations, hoping to prevent any further incidents. ‘People are dying': Visuals from Bengaluru stampede-like situation show chaotic scenes unravel at Chinnaswamy
Video footage from the stampede-like situation which happened on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy stadium due to massive overcrowding showed scenes of chaos unravelling as people tried to rescue the ones injured. At least 10 people have been killed in the stampede, and nearly 27 people have been hospitalised, with six deaths reported in Bowring Hospital, and four more from the Vydehi hospital in Bengaluru. Videos collected from the social media platform X showed that the volunteers and officials carrying people out on their backs in an attempt to rescue people from the stampede-like situation towards medical help. Within the chaos, some people were trying to save an individual's life by giving him CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), which is an emergency life-saving procedure. A man was seen lying on the ground unconscious, while people around him were trying to save his life. Another video showed how three to four people, including the stadium ticketing officials, were carrying another individual who was completely unconscious towards emergency services on Wednesday. People shared videos from the spot of the stampede-like situation, which show that people were climbing on top of each other as the overcrowding situation became out of control. The stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium that led to death of at least four fans is "unfortunate" and RCB's IPL-winning celebrations should have been planned better, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told PTI on Wednesday. Chaotic celebrations turned into a full-blown tragedy as four people lost their lives and several others injured outside the Chinnswamy stadium while trying to join a party inside to honour Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL triumph but the felicitations went ahead nonetheless. "It is very unfortunate. This is a negative side of popularity. People are crazy for their cricketers. The organisers should have planned it better. My deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. I wish early recovery of the injured," said Saikia.
