Ina Garten Makes Surprising Admission about Her Marriage to Jeffrey

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Ina and Jeffrey Garten have been married for nearly 60 years, but their love story wasn't always sunshine and roses. As Ina revealed to Willie Geist during a Sunday Sitdown Live event at City Winery, which aired on Sunday, June 1, she and Jeffrey almost didn't work out during the early days of her business. 'In the beginning, I'd work all day, and then most of the night; I'd go home at like midnight, sleep for a couple of hours, and come back at four in the morning,' she recalled during the chat, which was focused on stories in her memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens. Admittedly, Ina revealed that this routine while starting her business strained her relationship with Jeffrey. 'It was really difficult because I just wanted to build a business, and Jeffrey was working at the state department, and he would come on the weekends when I was really busy, and so I just was like, 'I can't. I'm sorry. I just can't spend any time with you,'' she shared. After navigating a period of weekends like that, Ina revealed that she and her husband took some space. 'We took a little time apart,' she said. 'Figure, I need, you know, I'd never lived on my own. I just kind of needed to do that, and he was great. He was really, incredibly.' Eventually—and as Ina reveals in her book—Jeffrey met her at the train station in Washington in hopes of repairing the separation and tension they'd experienced. 'He said, 'Is there anything I can do to change your mind?'' Ina recalled. 'And I said, 'Yeah, you can, you know, go see a therapist… and we'll work through these things.' Originally, Jeffrey told her that he'd go after returning from his world tour, which he was set to embark on. When Ina told him it'd be too late, though, he changed his plans, prioritized her and their relationship, and went to therapy the very next day. 'Which was incredible,' Ina recalled. And followers of the Barefoot Contessa agree. 'Jeffery should teach a master class. What respect and love,' one person commented on TODAY's Instagram post. 'You never know what's happening behind closed doors in someone's home. Thanks for sharing,' another person wrote. 'It all looks easy from the outside. Every single person's life is complicated and challenging. I loved 'Be Ready When the Luck Happens'. @inagarten Absolutely adore you, Doll,' someone else exclaimed. Shaq calls BS on Wilt Chamberlain's 20,000 women urban legend

The post Shaq calls BS on Wilt Chamberlain's 20,000 women urban legend appeared first on ClutchPoints. Shaquille O'Neal has never been one to mince words, and he wasn't about to start when the topic turned to Wilt Chamberlain's infamous claim. On a recent episode of The Big Podcast with Brandon Jennings and Adam Lefkoe, the Lakers legend flat-out dismissed Chamberlain's decades-old statement that he slept with 20,000 women, per Yahoo. His reaction? Pure disbelief laced with the kind of unfiltered commentary only Shaq can deliver. 'First of all, he didn't have no cell phone,' O'Neal pointed out, questioning the logistics of Chamberlain allegedly meeting and sleeping with nearly 20 women a day. 'You show up? You just pop up and there's 20 women waiting?' Shaq wasn't done. He broke it down, doing the kind of street-level math that brings this number into full-blown fantasy territory. 'A thousand women a year for 20 years? Get the f*** outta here,' he said. 'Who even knows 20,000 people?' While Shaq's delivery was laced with humor and disbelief, there was a real point behind the performance. His skepticism wasn't about hating on Chamberlain's legacy, it was about calling out what he sees as an exaggerated myth that's persisted in sports folklore for too long. Ironically, Chamberlain may have softened on the claim later in life. In his autobiography Wilt: Larger Than Life, the late Hall of Famer framed the number less as a verified count and more of a symbol. He admitted the 20,000 figure was chosen to illustrate how central sex was to his life—equally important, in his view, as basketball. 'We're all fascinated by numbers,' he said, referencing his historic 100-point game. 'So I thought of a number that was a round number… and I used that number.' But later in life, Chamberlain walked some of that bravado back. He acknowledged that while the playboy lifestyle got attention, it paled in comparison to the joy of a meaningful relationship. It was a sentiment that echoed the growth of a man once defined by records and excess, now leaning into reflection. Shaq's commentary might have come with jokes and expletives, but the underlying sentiment was serious. Legends grow, stories stretch, and sometimes, the best way to honor greatness is to separate the myth from the man. Doechii Calls Out Donald Trump's "Ruthless" Immigration Policies in BET Awards Speech

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Doechii used her BET Awards acceptance speech to call out President Donald Trump and his aggressive immigration policies, those which have led to massive protests across the country, and particularly in Los Angeles. Last night at the BET Awards in L.A., the 'Denial Is a River' rapper—dressed in a bright-red Miu Miu set—took home the prize for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. After noting how 'honored' she was for the recognition, she pivoted to 'address what's happening right now outside of the building.' Just down the street from the award show, protestors had shut down streets to stand up against the Trump administration's immigration raids, mass deportations, and ongoing attack on migrants. In response to the uproar, Trump called in the National Guard—2,000 of them. 'There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order,' Doechii said. 'Trump is using military forces to stop a protest, and I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.' 'What type of government is that?' she asked. Los Angeles's population is famously varied due to its close proximity to Mexico. According to the 2024 U.S. Census, 33 percent of Angelenos were born outside of the United States. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has called for Trump to halt the raids in the city. 'I can't emphasize enough the level of fear and terror that is in Angelenos right now, not knowing if tomorrow or tonight it might be where they live, it might be their workplace, should you send your kids to school, should you go to work,' she said. California Gov. Gavin Newsom, meanwhile, is suing the Trump administration for its 'illegal takeover' of the California National Guard, which the Democratic leader notes has 'escalated chaos and violence in L.A.'
