You Might Have Missed This Oscar Winner's Low-Key Cameo In The White Lotus Season 3

Yahoo24-02-2025

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the latest episode of The White Lotus.
As if the current series of The White Lotus wasn't star-studded enough, the show managed to sneak an extra A-lister into the latest instalment of the award-winning drama.
On Sunday night, episode two of the new season aired in the US, and has since been made available to watch in the UK on Sky and Now.
During the episode, Jason Isaacs' character Tim Ratliff managed to track down his old business colleague Kenny to discuss an exposé of their past shady dealings.
What viewers might not have realised is that Kenny, who was heard speaking through the phone, was actually voiced by Hollywood legend Ke Huy Quan.
Ke Huy Quan began his acting career as a child performer, appearing in the likes of Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom and The Goonies as a teenager.
More recently, he won an Oscar for his performance in the epic Everything Everywhere All At Once, and has since joined the cast of the Marvel TV series Loki.
It didn't take long for fans of the actor to notice his voice on the other end of the phone...

But this isn't the first time that White Lotus boss Mike White has managed to sneak a voice cameo into the show.
Last season, which aired in 2022, fans heard Michael Imperioli's character make several phone calls to his ex-wife, who was played by another Oscar winner, Laura Dern.
The latest iteration of The White Lotus has already proved to be a hit with fans and critics, and features an impressive cast that includes Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Blackpink star Lisa and Sex Education favourite Aimee Lou Wood.

Fantastic Four leaks aren't stopping and they're getting even more bizarre – with Galactus being fully revealed in a Snapple promotion

Drink it in: The first full look at Fantastic Four's Galactus is here – thanks to a Snapple promotion. While we've had brief glimpses of the Devourer of Worlds stomping his way through 1960s New York in the early Fantastic Four trailers, we haven't seen the entire figure of the Ralph Ineson-voiced villain. Until now, that is. As you can see below (H/T Galactus is sporting his comic-accurate headgear and – if you ask us, anyway – the face looks modelled slightly on Ralph Ineson, which is a neat touch. There's also more Snapple-related Fantastic Four promos abound. Artist Dylan Schepers is even showcasing most of the work on his website, as well as the flavors tied to each hero. If you're curious, Reed Richards is Snapple Apple, Sue Storm is Peach Tea, Johnny Storm is Peach Tea Zero Sugar, and Ben Grimm is Kiwi Strawberry. If you've been following along, you'll know that this isn't the only Fantastic Four leak in recent days. Thanks to a wave of upcoming Funko Pops, we now know that Sue Storm will seemingly give birth during the course of the Marvel Phase 6 entry, with son Franklin Richards playing some sort of role in the narrative. Fantastic Four, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, hits cinemas on July 25. Fantastic Four co-writer tried to have "a classic Galactus" as the "big bad" in the 2015 Marvel movie, but "internal push back" stopped it

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The co-writer of 2015's Fantastic Four, Jeremy Slater, has talked about the MCU's upcoming take on Marvel's First Family – and Galactus. "I'm excited. I like the fact that they are taking a big creative swing," he told ComicBook. "They are telling a multiverse story, with a different world and a different set of heroes. It looks like they are bringing them in collision with our Marvel Cinematic Universe. I think that is a smart angle. I think they are getting Galactus right. "I wanted to make him our big bad and there was some internal push back," he continued. "First, he was our big bad. Then, he was just going to appear in one scene. Then, he was only appearing in the post-credits scene. Coming off the Galactus cloud from [2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer], which I was one of those fanboys probably bitching on Ain't It Cool News back then about how he was a fucking cloud, I was excited to bring back a classic Galactus and have that Jack Kirby design. It looked like they've accomplished that, so I can't wait to see him in real life." The first look at Galactus in The Fantastic Four: First Steps came from a very unlikely place – a Snapple promotion. He certainly looks very comic accurate. "The most epic of the most epic that you can imagine," producer Grant Curtis has said of the villain. "Because that's the global stakes we're dealing with, the universal stakes we're dealing with," he continued. "That's Galactus. When Galactus's gaze comes across your planet, you're not in a good spot. I think that's as big of a scope and scale you could ever ask a villain to bring with him or her. And that is what Galactus brings... One of the beautiful things about working with Kevin Feige and with [director] Matt Shakman, they are totally in on sci-fi." The Fantastic Four: First Steps is in theaters this July 25. In the meantime, check out our guide to all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows for everything else that's on the way.

LA stars react to Trump's migrant crackdown

As President Donald Trump's military-backed crackdown on immigrants continues in Los Angeles and across the US, celebrities are speaking out against the tactics and what they say are the intolerant views driving them. Some pointed to the gulf between Trump's apocalyptic descriptions of a city in flames and the reality of a vast and diverse metropolis where largely peaceful protests are limited to a small part of downtown. Here's what the glitterati had to say: - 'We have to speak up' - Many celebrities touched on the disconnect between Trump's claims about arresting dangerous criminals and raids that appear to be targeting day laborers and factory workers. "When we're told that ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals -- great," LA native and reality star Kim Kardashian wrote on social media. "But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up." The billionaire behind Skims underwear added: "Growing up in LA, I've seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers and family. "No matter where you fall politically, it's clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants." Singer Doechii echoed that sentiment in her acceptance speech for best female hip hop artist at the BET Awards on Sunday. "There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order. Trump is using military forces to stop a protest," the "Anxiety" singer said. "We all deserve to live in hope and not fear" - 'Not an apocalypse' - Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel gave a blistering 12-minute monologue from his studio in the heart of Hollywood, opening with footage of tourists enjoying the nearby attractions and a movie premiere. "Not only is it not an apocalypse, they're having a Disney/Pixar movie premiere right now for 'Elio', a movie about aliens -- don't tell Trump, he'll send the Green Berets in, too," the comedian said. There is something wrong, he said, with innocent people "being abducted -- which is the correct word to use -- by agents in masks, hiding their identities, grabbing people off the streets." - 'Un-American' - Grammy- and Oscar-winning musician and producer Finneas, famous for collaborations with sister Billie Eilish and for work on the "Barbie" movie soundtrack, reported being caught up in a heavy-handed police response at a protest. "Tear-gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown — they're inciting this," the LA native wrote on Instagram. "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria, called the raids "un-American." "It's just so inhumane, hard to watch, it's hard, it's hard to witness from afar, I can't imagine what it's like to be in Los Angeles right now," she wrote on Instagram. Longoria added that the protests were a result of "the lack of due process for law-abiding, tax-paying immigrants who have been a part of our community for a very long time." sla/hg/nl
