DULUTH, Ga. - Rush hour traffic had nothing on this determined daredevil of the animal kingdom. On Tuesday, Duluth police officers were called to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard for an urgent hoofed situation: a lone goat (or sheep) trotting along the roadway like it was late for a job interview—or perhaps a lunch date at the farmers market.
Note: One local resident responded to the police department's Facebook post, saying the goat is actually a Zwartbles sheep.

Dubbed the "Hoofed Houdini" by baffled officers, the goat/sheep reportedly strutted with purpose before ditching police near Albion Farm Road, where it executed a textbook fence hop and vanished into the suburban jungle, according to a post on the Duluth Police Department's Facebook page.
Authorities suspect this is the same goat/sheep that made headlines in Suwanee last week. "Apparently, it had unfinished business in Duluth," the department posted, clearly acknowledging the goat's commitment to a multi-city itinerary.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, and both vehicles pulled into the parking lot of a business at the corner of McClure Bridge Road. The drivers were identified as Jonathan Mendez of Norcross and 19-year-old James Baltimore of Alpharetta. Mendez, who was driving a Toyota Corolla, told the officer he did not know the other driver. He was issued three citations for racing, speeding, and having an illegal tag cover. Baltimore, who did not have his driver's license on him, was found to possess only a Class CP permit. He was cited for speeding, racing, failing to register his vehicle within 30 days of residency, and driving without a license on his person. New York State Police arrest man wanted in Georgia for sex crimes involving minor
A man wanted for charges of sex crimes involving a child in Georgia was arrested by New York State Police. According to state police, the New York State Police Computer Crime Unit got a request from the Duluth Police Department in Gwinnett County to find 41-year-old Oswin M. Guillen Padilla, of Hampton Bays. Police said he was accused of inappropriate communication with a minor in Duluth. Video shows suspected drunken driver nearly hit squad car before head-on crash with other motorist
Officials say two people were hospitalized after a suspected drunken driver struck another motorist head-on Thursday near Duluth, Minnesota, just seconds after narrowly hitting a police officer's squad car. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and Northern News Now report it happened at about 4 p.m. on Jean Duluth Road near West Tischler Road. A motorist in a Subaru Outback crossed the center line, almost hit an officer with the Duluth Police Department and then smashed into a Ford Explorer. The DWI suspect and a passenger in the Explorer were both hurt, though the extent of their injuries hasn't been released, according to Northern News Now. "Remember during this long Memorial Day weekend to plan ahead, don't drive under the influence and stay safe," the sheriff's office wrote in a social media post about the crash. The officer captured his near collision on his dash cam, as well as filming the direct aftermath of the crash. The sheriff's office is leading the investigation.
