Luis Enrique hopes ‘very difficult journey' to CL final ends with glory for PSG
PSG will contest their second European final when they face Inter Milan at Allianz Arena and aim to go one better than in the 2020 loss to Bayern Munich.
Champions League success has been the holy grail for PSG's owners Qatar Sports Investment since they acquired a majority share in 2011, but Luis Enrique's team were in dangerous of a league-phase exit after a run of three defeats in four.
A 4-2 win over Manchester City in January revitalised their campaign and after tricky knockout ties with Brest, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal were navigated, Ligue 1 champions PSG enter this final with 28 wins from the 34 fixtures they have played in 2025.
Luis Enrique, a winner in this competition with Barcelona a decade ago, plans a repeat against 2023 runners-up Inter.
'What I tried to transmit to the players is that we have been on a very difficult journey,' Luis Enrique told a press conference.
'We have had to play in top-level games since the start of the Champions League. The fact that it was hard at the start could be an advantage for us now because we are used to playing in these games.
'We played in the stadium against Munich, a team that is one of the best in Europe and we played in finals before. We are ready. We have not been scared at all this season so we are going to take to the pitch at our best tomorrow.
'I have more experience now from the last few years. I try to transmit to my team and my players the importance of playing in the Champions League final and the chance to make history.

'Making history means doing something that nobody has ever done before you at a club like Paris St Germain, so that is very important and it needs to be managed carefully so that it doesn't overwhelm us.
'I have the loved the way we have looked at training. Inter don't have any doubts either and it will be a brilliant final that we want to win.'
PSG captain Marquinhos featured in the 2020 loss to Bayern, which occurred behind closed doors due to coronavirus restrictions.
Marquinhos has shared a dressing room with superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, but expressed his love for this current group.
He said: 'I have played in so many teams over the years here, but we are certainly enjoying it here on a daily basis and in every match.
'You can see the way we all run together, how we understand one another on the pitch, so there is the influence in our results. I am in love with this team, with everything we do on the pitch for one another and it is a pleasure to be a part of it.
'It is a great opportunity tomorrow to make history here as a club and for all the players here. It is a second opportunity for me to play in the Champions League final and I don't want to let if pass me by.'

Ousmane Dembele has enjoyed an extraordinary campaign with 33 goals to become one of the favourites for the Ballon d'Or, but played down its significance.
'When you are a player at Paris St Germain, the most important thing is to win the Champions League. I am focused on the team and not on individual accolades,' Dembele insisted.
'I am pleased with what we have done since January. We have changed our mentality and we are going to try to keep it going and go all the way.'

Barcelona have since moved ahead of Villa as the most likely destination for Rashford, but according to German outlet Bild, the club do not want to pay the £40m fee. It claims that Rashford is eager to move to the Nou Camp after falling out with Ruben Amorim and manager Hansi Flick is interested in making the deal happen. But it adds that Barcelona don't want to sign him on a permanent transfer and are only keen on a loan move. It comes as a significant blow to Manchester United, who are in a difficult financial position and need to make money from outgoings if they are to spend this summer. Rashford joins the likes of Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee who have been linked with an exit. Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Viktor Lindelof have already left on free transfers. But Barcelona's own financial struggles have been made clear too and they have previously had difficulties registering players. Last season they had a dispute with La Liga over the registration of Dani Olmo. It is claimed United would give the thumbs up to loaning Rashford out one more time, but they would require Barcelona to cover his £325,000-a-week salary while also paying a loan fee of between £5m and £10m on top. The Red Devils would also want an obligation for Barcelona to buy Rashford in the summer of 2026 - though the club have also been linked with moves for Liverpol's Luis Diaz and Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli, who they could turn to instead.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the city of Dax during a PSG street party after Saturday night's final in Munich, the national police service said. Luis Enrique backs Ousmane Dembele for Ballon d'Or after PSG's European glory
Dembele did not score in Saturday's 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan but he set up two goals and produced a superb flick in the build up to PSG's third. The former Barcelona attacker has 33 goals in all competitions this campaign, with 22 of them coming in this calendar year to help the Parisians add the Champions League to Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles. Luis Enrique dropped Dembele in October for a defeat away to Arsenal and the forward was sent off a month later at Bayern Munich, but he responded supremely to achieve his best scoring season to date and become favourite with bookmakers for the Ballon d'Or. While Dembele was happy to play down the accolade ahead of Saturday's match, his manager championed the 28-year-old following a one-sided final. 'I would like to say that everyone is talking about the Ballon d'Or but I would give it to Ousmane Dembele,' Enrique told a press conference. 'If we think about how he defended, he showed just what he was made of. He was a leader, he was humble, he got back down and defended. I think without a shadow of doubt, he deserves this. 'Not only for the goals that he scored but also for the pressing we saw. We have seen such a season from him and he was exceptional in this final.' Dembele will get the chance to further press his claim later this month when PSG take part in the Club World Cup in America. Even though Enrique's team will get hardly any rest, he plans to add the continental cup to their Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Trophee des Champions successes. Enrique added: 'I think it is an incredible competition. Maybe not now it's a first edition, but it will become an incredibly important title to win. 'I think the fact the best teams in the world are going to meet every four years and not with nations teams but clubs is incredible. 'We want to finish the season in style and I guess it would be the cherry on the cake. This would be the fifth trophy of the season if we are able to pull it off.' Two-goal hero Desire Doue is one of several young starlets at PSG and Enrique sent an ominous warning to the rest of Europe. The Spaniard said: 'My first day at the PSG campus when I had my first press conference and my French was even worse than it is today, I said the ultimate goal for me and us was to fill the trophy cabinet. 'I said the only trophy that was missing was the Champions League and here we are. 'We have ticked that box, we were ambitious and we are going to continue to conquer the footballing world.'
