Cambodia bans fuel, gas imports from Thailand from midnight Sunday
PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): Cambodia will ban imports of all fuel and gas from Thailand from Sunday midnight after border tensions between the two Asean member states have mounted.
"Starting from midnight (Sunday), all fuel and gas imports from Thailand will be halted," Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said in a post on his official social media platforms.
"Fuel supply companies in Cambodia are able to import sufficiently from other sources to meet domestic fuel and gas demands within the country," he said.
In addition, Cambodia on Sunday advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Thailand.
Border tensions between Cambodia and Thailand have risen recently after soldiers of both countries briefly exchanged gunfire in a disputed border area on May 28, resulting in the death of a Cambodian soldier. - Xinhua

'Their prompt assistance, particularly securing the necessary accommodation, transportation, and entry permits into Turkmenistan, was crucial in ensuring the safety of our citizens,' he added. Meanwhile, Balakrishnan also wrote a separate letter to Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi to express his gratitude for Oman's prompt and effective assistance. He said Singapore remains deeply concerned about the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, and that various mediation efforts, including those by Al-Busaidi, are crucial for de-escalation.

Premier urges China's Jiangsu to embrace ‘higher development expectations'
As Beijing looks to shore up China's economic growth amid mounting challenges, Premier Li Qiang has called on Jiangsu province, a key manufacturing hub on the country's east coast, to step up its efforts in technology, trade and consumption. During a three-day visit to the province from Monday, Li emphasised the importance of embracing innovative development, stimulating effective demand, fostering entrepreneurship, and deepening reform and opening up to support China's sustained economic growth. In a Facebook post, Anwar said he spoke with Lee this morning to convey his well wishes following the Democratic Party's victory in South Korea's presidential election. "I expressed full confidence in his leadership as the country enters a new chapter," he said. Anwar said both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Malaysia–South Korea Strategic Partnership, which was elevated during his official visit to Seoul in November last year.
