Karmelo Anthony, the teen who has admitted to stabbing and killing a fellow high school athlete at a track meet in Texas, has been indicted by a grand jury with first-degree murder.
Austin Metcalf, 17, bled out in his brother's arms after the attack by Anthony.
Fricso, Texas police have said the incident stemmed from Metcalf asking Anthony to leave his team tent since he didn't go to the same school.
Anthony, 17 at the time of the killing and now 18, was arrested shortly after and charged by police with first degree murder in a case that has drawn national attention over race and privilege.
Today's indictment comes after the local district attorney presented evidence to a grand jury, asking jurors to uphold the first-degree murder charge.
'For weeks, my team has been presenting evidence to the grand jury. Today, I summarized that evidence, and I asked the Grand Jury to return a first degree murder indictment against Karmelo Anthony— which they did, Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a press released Tuesday afternoon.
'With that indictment, the case now moves formally into the court system. From this point forward, we'll continue doing our part — fully and fairly — to pursue justice under the law. The trial schedule will be set by the court. But when the time comes, we'll be ready.'

'I've always respected her and considered her a highly professional and talented co-worker on Cobra Kai,' he added, before addressing the incident. 'I was being playful in the moment but went too far and there is absolutely no excuse for my behavior,' Kove continued. 'I regret my actions for which I take full responsibility for what I did, and again I apologize to her and her husband. I'm committed to learning from this and it will never happen again,' he concluded. The report from the incident revealed that Kove did apologize to Hannah-Kim and her husband Roche, though now he's doing so publicly. Photos were also taken of Hannah-Kim's arm, which showcased a, 'very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising.' Kove was told to leave the convention, and the officer told him never to do something like that again. Kim played Kim Da-Eun, a powerful South Korean sensei who is also the granddaughter of Kim Sun-Yung, the master who taught initially taught Kove's character John Kreese in his youth. The report from the incident revealed that Kove did apologize to Hannah-Kim and her husband Roche, though now he's doing so publicly. Columbia University reports IT outage, notifies authorities
WASHINGTON, June 24 (Reuters) - Columbia University said its IT systems experienced an outage that started on Tuesday morning, adding it was probing the incident and had notified law enforcement. There was no indication of any data being compromised, said a spokesperson for the New York-based university. "This morning, Columbia University IT systems experienced an outage affecting systems on our Morningside campus. Our IT team has been working to restore services as quickly as possible, and we have notified law enforcement," the university spokesperson said. "At this time, no clinical operations at CUIMC have been impacted," the spokesperson said, referring to the Columbia University Irving Medical Center which is a major constituent of the Morningside campus near Central Park. Columbia University's student newspaper, The Columbia Spectator, reported that the hours-long outage has impacted the university's online platforms. It affected Columbia's UNI authentication service, which students use to log into their university accounts, the newspaper reported. "We are experiencing widespread system outages," the university's website noted late on Tuesday.
