Malaysian Senior Citizen Killed In Road Accident In Narathiwat
NARATHIWAT (Thailand), June 5 (Bernama) – A Malaysian senior citizen died after the vehicle he was driving skidded into a ditch in an accident along the Narathiwat-Pattani Highway near Yi Ngo District in Thailand's southern province this afternoon.
Yi Ngo District Police Chief, Naravi Binwaearong, said his department received a report of the accident at 3pm local time.
'Police officers who arrived at the scene found that the victim had been taken to Yi Ngo Hospital and was confirmed dead a few hours after the accident,' he said when contacted today (Thursday).

Earlier Friday, Paetongtarn, after chairing the National Security Council meeting, announced that Thailand had established a special task force to address security concerns along its border with Cambodia. She said the army had been assigned to coordinate operations and maintain readiness to respond to any developments, prioritising the protection of sovereignty while safeguarding international relations to ensure national security. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, Supreme Commander General Songwit Noonpakdee, National Security Council Chief Chatchai Bangchuad and the military's commanders-in-chief. On May 28, Thai and Cambodian troops were involved in a brief gunfight in Thailand's north-eastern Ubon Ratchathani province and Cambodia's northern Preah Vihear province, where one Cambodian soldier was reportedly killed. Cambodia has since announced its intention to bring the border dispute to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Porn producers in Phnom Penh busted: 12, including a Malaysian, in custody

The raid saw 12 suspects taken into custody. The authorities explained that the group were producing and distributing – as well as live-streaming – pornographic content. Rath Sreang, commander of the Municipal Gendarmerie, explained that the operation took place on Wednesday (June 4) at a flat located along Street 242, in Prampi Makara district's Boeung Prolit commune. The 12 suspects included six Chinese nationals, five Cambodians and a Malaysian. Computers, condoms and a range of sex toys were seized during the raid. Sreang said the 12 suspects were sent to court on June 6. It was unclear how long they had been producing pornographic content for. He confirmed that he ordered the raid, in coordination with Seng Mengsrun, deputy prosecutor at Phnom Penh Municipal Court. The Kingdom's Law on Suppression of Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation explained that anyone who possesses, distributes, sells, rents, displays, screens or publicly shows pornographic images shall face a term of imprisonment of from 7 days to 1 month and a fine of 100,000 to 200,000 riel (US$25 to US$50). The production of pornographic images or materials carries a prison term of from 1 month to 1 year and a fine of 100,000 (US$25) to 2,000,000 riels (US$500). Selangor cops take down ‘Alstonia Gang'

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said among those arrested were the gang leader, a local man working as an e-hailing driver and his foreign lover, who are believed to have been actively carrying out drug trafficking activities for the past eight months. In the first raid on a house in Bukit Jalil at about 5.50pm on Tuesday, police nabbed a man and a foreign woman, and seized 4,656g of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) or ecstasy powder and three litres of juice suspected of containing drugs. 'The second raid was conducted on a house in Semenyih and led to the arrest of a man and the seizure of powdery substances believed to be MDMA weighing 230g, followed by a third raid at 6.10pm in Puchong where a male suspect was held and 966.10g of MDMA seized. 'At 10.30pm, we conducted raid number four on a house in Kajang. 'We arrested a man and seized 110 vape cartridges suspected of containing 2,880g of drugs,' Comm Hussein told Bernama at a media conference here yesterday. He added that the suspect then led police to a house in Kajang, where they seized MDMA powder weighing 21,452g, ketamine (4,722g), MDMA pills (641g) and Erimin-5 pills (1,960g). Following interrogation, police then arrested three men and a woman believed to be involved with the syndicate around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. 'In addition to the syndicate leader and his lover, who has lived in the country for the past 10 years, seven other suspects, all aged between 24 and 38, worked as food traders, personal shoppers and barbers. 'Six of them tested positive for drugs and three tested negative, while three had previous records related to crime and drugs.' Comm Hussein said the syndicate targeted entertainment centres around the Klang Valley to sell to individuals. He added that police also seized five vehicles along with jewellery, watches, luxury handbags and cash, with the total seizure amounting to RM341,449.16. 'This success is a result of the intelligence we carried out for two months. All suspects have been remanded for seven days, with the case being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.'
