
Two men from Northern New Brunswick charged in connection to homicide
Two men from northern New Brunswick are facing second-degree murder charges in connection to a homicide on Friday, according to an RCMP release.
Bruce Dufour, 37, from Edmundston, was arrested in Saint-Léonard early Saturday. Later Saturday, police in Edmundston arrested Tony Dufour, 36, from Saint-Jacques.
Police responded to a call from a business on 2nd Sault Road in Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska on Friday night. The report was for an assault with a weapon.
Upon reaching the scene around 11:45 p.m., RCMP say the found a 29-year-old man outside the business with "significant injuries." He later died at the scene, police say.
Bruce Dufour and Tony Dufour appeared in Edmundston provincial court by tele-remand, were they were charged with secobd-degree murder and remanded into custody, police say.
Both are scheduled to appear in court again on Monday. An investigation led by the RCMP's major crime unit is underway.
