Yolanda Hadid reaches out to Victoria Beckham amid claims she grew 'concerned' about Nicola Peltz's age-gap romance with son Anwar Hadid and held crisis talks with him over her 'strong personality'

Daily Mail5 hours ago

Nicola Peltz's fallout with her husband's family highlighted an unlikely alliance this week as Yolanda Hadid reportedly showed support for Brooklyn's mother Victoria.
The actress, 30, dated Yolanda's son Anwar for around a year when he was 17 and she was 22 but their age-gap apparently concerned his family.
In a show of support amid Nicola and Brooklyn's rift with the Beckhams, Yolanda, 61, shared a love heart underneath David's knighthood announcement.
While there is no public history of a relationship between the two matriarchs, it is possible she understands what the family is going through after she suffered her own 'strained' relationship with the Bates Motel star during her romance with Anwar.
The bond got off to a strong start, with Nicola joining Anwar's famous sisters on the red carpet and posing for sweet selfies with Yolanda on Instagram.
It initially seemed Yolanda approved of Nicola, as they posed with blue towels wrapped around their heads and hung out on a 'rainy east coast summer day.'

Model Anwar also shared the star-filtered snap with his own caption: 'My ladies.'
The Dutch native had posted several snaps of the PDA pair using hashtags like '#TooCute, #HappyKids, and #HappyMommy.'
However, according to a Mail Plus report by Katie Hind, relations seemingly declined over time and they were left with 'no good feeling' between them as Nicola proceeded to unfollow the whole family on social media.
Yolanda, who was the stand-out star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at the time, and her famous children proved to be a huge boost to Nicola's social standing.
Before her relationship with Anwar, Nicola had also been linked to other famous faces including Justin Bieber and The Last Ship actor Cameron Fuller.
Speaking about her relationship with Anwar and his family with WWD, Nicola said: 'We're hanging out. Honestly, he is an angel. He's such an amazing person.
'He comes from such an amazing family. Gigi and Bella are so, so sweet. I just love his family so much. They're feminine, strong girls. To have that around is amazing.'
They had nepotism in common, having both come from incredibly wealthy, prominent fathers (General Eletric billionaire Nelson Peltz and real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid) married to model mothers (Claudia and Yolanda).
Model Anwar also shared the star-filtered snap with his own caption: 'My ladies'
There are striking similarities between the two relationships, including the links to two incredibly well known families and the age-gaps in both.
While Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola are reportedly no longer on speaking terms with his family, sources told Katie Hind that Anwar's family were worried he was increasingly unhappy in his relationship and they were keen for him to get out of it quickly.
A source told Katie Hind: 'The age difference bothered them. And so did Nicola's strong personality. It had started so well but they later began to no longer think the relationship was the best idea for Anwar.
'That led to some conversations between Anwar and the family. They feared he was struggling, going out with a woman who was older than him at such a formative time in his life.'
On Wednesday, Victoria received unexpected support from Yolanda as the fashion designer, 51, and her husband David, 50, navigate a growing rift with their eldest son, and his actress wife, Nicola, after the couple were notably absent from David's recent 50th birthday celebrations.
Following Brooklyn's most recent snub on Father's Day, Yolanda has reached out to Victoria after news broke of David's upcoming knighthood.
Although Victoria and Yolanda aren't known to be close, the latter responded to the fashion designer's post about David receiving his knighthood with a public show of support last week.
Yolanda posted a love heart on social media as Victoria gushed how David had 'always been my knight in shining armour…but now it's official.'
Gigi and Bella are no strangers to Victoria, as they walked her catwalk show for Paris Fashion Week in 2022.
Nicola previously dated their younger brother, Anwar, for 18 months before the pair split in 2018.
Despite speculation, sources close to Nicola insisted there is no bad blood between her and the Hadid family despite her unfollowing the family after their split.
It comes after David told his children 'I will always be there, no matter what' in an emotional Father's Day Instagram post on Sunday amid their ongoing family fallout.
He shared pictures of Victoria and their four children Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, laughing and looking cheery in happier times.
Subtly reaching out to his eldest son, David insisted he will always be around to support Brooklyn even if times get tough.
He wrote: 'My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad... I'm so proud of all of you and like daddy ( sorry boys ) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what...
'Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad... Happy Father's Day... I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.. @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven @tedbeckhamdavid'
Cruz responded to his father on the post, writing: 'You mean the world to us and inspire us every single day dad I love you'.
Victoria's Father's Day tribute to husband David was filled with nods to their son Brooklyn as she reached out to her eldest child.
Posh Spice - who became Lady Beckham as her husband led the King's Birthday Honours list - ensured Brooklyn was in the majority of the pictures in her post, despite the eldest failing to acknowledge his dad's knighthood this week.
But their was no sign of their bitter rift on Sunday, as she wrote: 'Happy Father's Day to the best daddy there is!
'You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so so much!! @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven xxx'
The former England captain proudly led in the King's Birthday Honours list after being in the running for more than a decade.
Congratulating her husband, Victoria shared a loved-up photo to Instagram and wrote: 'You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir David!!! What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you.
'Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered.
'The way you've touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday.'
She concluded: 'But above all else, I'm so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much xxxx'
David declared himself 'immensely proud' as he finally received a knighthood after years of being snubbed.
He said he 'never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour', as his Spice Girl wife Victoria also becomes Lady Beckham.

How historic Ealing Studios is hoping to regain ground with £20m revamp

The first time film-maker Barnaby Thompson visited Ealing Studios it was to shoot Victoria Beckham, who at the time was better known globally as Posh Spice, being unceremoniously plunged underwater. 'It was 1997, we were making Spice World and there was a sequence where Posh Spice got thrown into the Thames,' says Thompson, whose film credits include Wayne's World, the remake of St Trinian's and an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband. 'We have a tank at Ealing so we shot Posh being thrown into the tank. It was the first time I had been on that hallowed ground.' Nearly three decades on, the film director and producer is a co-owner of the studios and is about to raise the curtain on its biggest revamp in 80 years. Thompson has something of an obsession with the west London site, which was founded in 1902, and is the world's oldest continuously working studio facility for film production. Three years after Beckham's dip, he jumped at the chance to form part of a consortium to buy the storied complex for a reported £10m. Between the late 1930s and mid-50s, the studio produced famous Ealing comedies such as the Lavender Hill Mob, and postwar hits including The Ladykillers and Kind Hearts and Coronets. Under subsequent BBC ownership, classics including Porridge, Monty Python and Doctor Who were shot there. But by 2000, when Thompson took over in concert with the Manhattan Loft Corporation, the property group behind the Chiltern Firehouse and St Pancras Renaissance hotel, the ageing studios were struggling to compete against modern rivals. 'I grew up with the Ealing movies, it was a fabulous fantasy to own the studio,' he says. 'Then one thing after another happened and suddenly we owned it. The place was charming but somewhat dilapidated. It needed to be modernised and brought into the 21st century. No one had spent any money on it since the war.' Since then, Thompson has managed several phases of development, and productions including Downton Abbey, Darkest Hour and the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black have shot there. But to complete his dream revamp he needed more investment. In 2022, the US private equity firm Starwood Capital took a majority stake in the studios for £48.5m – and a £20m expansion plan was subsequently announced. Later this month, Thompson will receive the official handover from the construction team, a moment that will mark the realisation of a quarter-of-a-century labour of love. 'When we brought it [Ealing], what we dreamed of doing was to make a studio that had all this history, the old stages built in the 1930s and the heritage since 1902, but also have the most modern facilities,' he says. 'It needed to be absolutely fit for the 21st century. And I think that is what we are completing this month.' With the overhaul, the studio has added a new 1,300 sq metre (14,000 sq ft) stage, increasing the overall amount of sound stage space by 60% to 3,437 sq metres, as well as new production offices. Nestled in the back streets of the west London suburb, it lacks the scale of its out-of-town rivals including Pinewood and Shepperton, but has the benefits of fast links to Heathrow airport and central London. 'The Elizabeth line has made an enormous difference,' says Thompson. 'It takes 10 minutes to get to Bond Street and east London is just 25 minutes. We are so accessible, and if productions are looking at sustainability taking the tube rather than driving is such a do-able thing.' However, the official reopening comes against a vastly different TV and film production landscape than when Ealing closed its doors to outside productions. The 18-month construction project – officially Ealing was still running as it is also the home of MetFilm school, which kept its doors open – covered a period of immense change and upheaval. Sign up to Business Today Get set for the working day – we'll point you to all the business news and analysis you need every morning after newsletter promotion The closure encompassed the Hollywood actors' and writers' strikes; the end of so-called 'peak TV', the big-budget production bonanza fuelled by US streamers such as Netflix; and UK domestic broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV significantly cutting back on commissioning. The number of films produced in the UK plunged from a post-pandemic-fuelled high of 420 in 2022 to 191 last year, according to figures from the British Film Institute. The number of premium TV shows costing at least £1m an hour to make fell from 248 to 191 in the same period. Overall, the UK market for film and high-end TV production shrank by £2bn between 2022 and 2024, although most of this was in the television sector. 'In terms of timing we were fortunate to have chosen to be closed during the strikes,' says Thompson. 'I think the strikes brought on a day of reckoning. The streamers had come in and a lot of shows were being made for too much money. The strikes and subsequent slowdown have caused problems for the whole industry.' The figures from the BFI showed that last year was better than 2023, but Thompson believes the market will not return to the peaks of recent years. As for Ealing, he says the studio is booked up until at least the middle of next year. 'It is levelling out, production is picking up but I don't think it will go back to the same levels as before,' he says. 'There is enough demand but there isn't that streamer hysteria we had before, I don't think [as many] budgets will be at the same level as before.' Last year, the government announced an enhanced tax credit for independent film productions costing up to £15m, to support a sector that has produced lower-budget movies such as The King's Speech, The Full Monty and Slumdog Millionaire. Thompson welcomed the move, saying: 'I have spent most of my life making very British films and it is getting harder and harder to finance them. The tax break will help fill that gap.' Ealing Studios reported a £2m pre-tax loss in its most recent public accounts for 2023, with rental income of £3m. This followed a £3.3m loss in 2022, when rental income was £5.6m. In the pre-Covid years of 2019 and 2018, the studio complex generated about £5m in rental income and made under £1m in annual profits. Thompson, who is shooting a four-part thriller for Amazon in the south of France, says he feels lucky to have been able to continue the Ealing Studios story for the next generation. 'I'm very proud of it and all we have done there,' the 65-year-old says. 'It has obviously been my life for 25 years. But I'm a film-maker first and guardian of the studio second. It is an amazing place, so much a part of the British heritage and character that it would be foolish to think it ever really belonged to me.'

Justin Bieber shares shock posts amid rumored marital woes as wife Hailey takes off wedding ring over weekend

Justin Bieber shared a series of clips on Instagram Stories Sunday indicating he's having a difficult time amid rumored marital issues with wife Hailey. The two-time Grammy-winner, 31, posted a series of animated clips from content creators expressing themselves in loud ways to the social media site. One of them said: 'B**** if you're giving me the silent treatment at least tell me why. I have anxiety and I have overthinking left and right they go hand-in-hand. 'If you give me any room for error, there will be error!' The posts came as his wife Hailey, a model with a successful fashion brand in Rhode was seen with her wedding ring on and off over summer's first weekend. Last month, reps for the singer issued a clear denial that he had been abused by Sean ' Diddy ' Combs when he was younger. (Bieber was among the guests in attendance at a raucous 2014 bash attended by Diddy, Cassie, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and a number of other celebs in shots Diddy posted and deleted more than a decade ago.) On May 15, Bieber's team issued the following statement to TMZ amid Combs' ongoing criminal trial. 'Although Justin is not among Sean Combs' victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,' a rep for the musical artist told the outlet Thursday. 'Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.' Insiders close to Bieber told TMZ that he was approaching 'financial collapse' around 2022, spurring him to sell the rights to his catalogue to the company Hipgnosis Songs Capital. The outlet noted that the decision caused some tension between Bieber and his former manager Scooter Braun. Bieber in a planned musical comeback, 'needs the money and wants to work,' sources told Puck News ' Matthew Belloni in his What I'm Hearing newsletter last month, in a column making entertainment predictions for2025. Bieber 'still owes' the touring company AEG 'a ton for his canceled tour' in March of 2023, Belloni reported. The Peaches artist also has a hot of 'other pop star expenses' weighing on his bottom line. Bieber's return to the limelight will come with a new lineup of supporting staff, after he parted ways with Braun within the last two years. Braun last summer announced his retirement from music management, after past having represented superstars including Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. According to the newsletter, the Sorry artist is represented by lawyer Michael Rhodes, who has past represented celebrities such as Madonna and members of the Kardashian family. Bieber's financial issues come two years after he sold rights to his catalog for $200 million in 2023, in a deal the Los Angeles Times reported Rhodes was integral in. Bieber's most recent studio album was Justice in 2021. The album garnered critical acclaim and spawned successful commercial tracks such as Peaches, a Billboard Hot 200 chart-topper; and the top 10 hits Holy, Anyone and Ghost. Bieber in February of 2023 officially canceled the remainder of his Justice World Tour after the singer said he was diagnosed with the condition Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which can lead to facial paralysis. Bieber had previously had to cancel shows on the tour in the fall of 2022, explaining his absences from the stage in an emotional post on his Instagram Stories. 'Earlier this year, I went public with my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partially paralyzed,' he said. 'As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour. He said that he suffered health woes after performing a set at the Rock in Rio festival. 'After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now,' he said. 'So I'm going to take a break from touring for the time being. I'm going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better. 'I've been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!'

What to Stream: 'The Bear,' Lorde, 'Smoke,' 'A Minecraft Movie,' 'Nosferatu' and Nelly and Ashanti

The Jack Black-led movie phenomenon 'A Minecraft Movie' and Lorde 's fourth studio album, " Virgin," are some of the new television, films, music and games headed to a device near you. Also among the streaming offerings worth your time, as selected by The Associated Press' entertainment journalists: All 10 episodes of season four of FX's 'The Bear' drop Wednesday, Nelly and Ashanti get their own reality show and Bill Skarsgård leads an update of the 1922 silent vampire classic 'Nosferatu.' New movies to stream from June 23-29 — The Porky Pig and Daffy Duck movie 'The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie' is coming to HBO Max on Friday, June 27 (it will also broadcast on HBO on June 28 at 8 p.m. ET). Reviews were a little mixed, but mostly positive for the full-length animated feature. Bob Strauss wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle that 'The laugh ratio is more hit-and-miss than in the tightly scripted shorts, but enough jokes land to satisfy most funny bones.' The film had a wild ride to end up where it was originally intended, including a theatrical release in December not from Warner Bros. but Ketchup Entertainment (who will also distribute the previously shelved 'Coyote vs. Acme' ). — Mariska Hargitay's documentary about her mother Jayne Mansfield, 'My Mom Jayne,' will also be streaming on HBO Max on Friday, June 27. The Hollywood bombshell died in a car accident at 34, when Hargitay was only 3. — La-la-la-lava, ch-ch-ch-chicken, Steve's lava chicken is now streaming on HBO Max, as is the rest of 'A Minecraft Movie.' A box office phenomenon with over $950 million in worldwide ticket sales and counting, this movie adaptation of the popular game stars Jack Black and Jason Momoa. In his AP review, Mark Kennedy wrote that 'the Jared Hess-directed action-adventure artfully straddles the line between delighting preteen gamers and keeping their parents awake. It's an often-bananas adaptation, with bizarre digressions into turquoise blouses and tater tot pizzas. It has Jennifer Coolidge being very Jennifer Coolidge. Need we say more?' — Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård lead the Robert Eggers-directed update of the 1922 silent vampire classic 'Nosferatu,' streaming on Prime Video starting Friday, June 27. Jocelyn Noveck wrote in her AP review that 'it will chill you to the bone' but that 'it may not terrify you.' Everything, she adds, in Eggers 'faithful, even adoring remake... looks great. But with its stylized, often stilted dialogue and overly dramatic storytelling, it feels more like everyone is living in a quaint period painting rather than a world populated by real humans (and, well, vampires) made of flesh and, er, blood.' — AP Film Writer Lindsey Bahr New music to stream from June 23-29 — What will the next era of Lorde look like? 'What Was That,' the singer's first new single in four years, recalls the clever synth-pop of her 2017 album 'Melodrama,' casting aside the folk detour of 2021's 'Solar Power.' The song that followed, 'Man of the Year,' is stripped and spare – just Lorde and a sorrowful bass. Who knows what will come next? Listeners will have to wait until Friday, June 27, when she releases her fourth studio album, 'Virgin.' — The 'F1' movie, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, is quickly gearing up to be a summer tentpole. Naturally, the filmmakers knew its sound had to be massive, too. That arrives via a score by the many-time Oscar winner Hans Zimmer and a huge soundtrack releasing as 'F1 The Album' via Atlantic Records, the team behind the award-winning 'Barbie' album — with bespoke tracks from Chris Stapleton, Ed Sheeran, Myke Towers, Blackpink's Rosé, Tate McRae and many more. Learn all about how the soundtrack came together here. — On Friday, June 27, arty alt-rock legends Failure will receive documentary treatment in 'Every Time You Lose Your Mind: A Film about Failure,' available to stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. The unorthodox and influential band finally gets their due in the project, directed by frontman Ken Andrews. And don't worry if Failure isn't a familiar name to you. Some of the featured voices in the documentary certainly will be: Paramore's Hayley Williams, actor Jason Schwartzman, comedian Margaret Cho, legendary producers Steve Albini and Butch Vig and many more participate. — AP Music Writer Maria Sherman New series to stream from June 23-29 — All 10 episodes of season four of FX's 'The Bear' drop Wednesday on Hulu. Viewers will find out if Michelin-starred chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) can successfully run an acclaimed and profitable fine dining restaurant in Chicago. The series has led to acting awards for White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Liza Colón-Zayas. — Jensen Ackles ('Supernatural,' 'Tracker') stars in a new crime thriller series for Prime Video called 'Countdown.' Ackles plays a LAPD detective assigned to a task force investigating the murder of a government official. Eric Dane of 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Euphoria' also stars. It premieres Wednesday. — Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's second shot at love didn't work out but there's another celebrity couple who has rekindled a past flame. Recording artists Nelly and Ashanti were an item for more than 10 years before their breakup in 2013. They got back together in 2023 and are now married with a son. The pair are the subject of their own reality show called 'Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together.' It debuts Thursday on Peacock. — Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett star in the new thriller 'Smoke' for Apple TV+ as investigators working together to catch two serial arsonists. It's created by Dennis Lehane and based on a true story where an arson investigator turned out to be a serial arsonist. 'Smoke' reunites Egerton and Lehane who worked on the Apple limited-series 'Blackbird." John Leguizamo and Greg Kinnear also appear in 'Smoke,' out Friday. — 'Nautilus,' a reimagining of Jules Verne's novel 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas' comes to AMC+ Friday, June 29. It's an origin story of the character known as Captain Nemo and portrayed by Shazad Latif. Nemo is an Indian prince whose birthright was stolen from him and he's on a mission for revenge. — Alicia Rancilio New video games to play from June 23-29 — In 2019's Death Stranding, a courier named Sam worked to reconnect survivors in a postapocalyptic America beset by 'beached things,' gooey monsters trapped between the worlds of the living and the dead. Sam is back in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but now he faces a question we've all asked in the internet age: Was connecting everyone really such a good idea? The series is the brainchild of legendary 'Metal Gear Solid' mastermind Hideo Kojima, and fans know they can expect a complex story, flamboyant graphics and some off-the-wall gameplay ideas. (The original included a lot of walking and inventory management next to some mind-blowing boss battles.) Norman Reedus of 'The Walking Dead' returns as Sam, and yes, he's still carrying a baby who has psychic powers. Embrace the weirdness Thursday on PlayStation 5. — Lou Kesten
