Nationalist Congress Party
(NCP) working president and Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel on Thursday lashed out at
Congress leader
Rahul Gandhi
for questioning India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack. He described the comments as "childish" and "deeply unfortunate," asserting that such statements weaken national morale.
"It is unfortunate that the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha made such immature statements. Such remarks don't harm Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the government—they only harm the Congress and Rahul Gandhi. The nation is united today, and all MPs stand with the government. At such a time, making low and petty remarks is regrettable," Patel said at a press briefing.
Addressing Gandhi's insinuation that India informed Pakistan in advance about retaliatory action, Patel countered, "If we say we'll take revenge, does that mean we've given prior notice to the enemy? PM Modi and external affairs minister Jaishankar have already stated that India would respond to the Pahalgam terror attack—does this mean every detail was disclosed?"
Urging introspection, he added, "When people across caste, class, and party lines are united to fight terrorism, the opposition leader makes irresponsible statements.
Even Congress leaders must regret the kind of leadership they are dealing with."
Patel also dismissed senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal's claim that his ministerial berth was secured through chief minister Devendra Fadnavis's recommendation. "We have ten ministers in the cabinet. The decision to induct Bhujbal was made solely by party president and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra president Sunil Tatkare, and me as working president. We do not appoint ministers based on lobbying or external recommendations," he clarified.

Rajbhar says his party to honour contribution of Maharaja Suheldev on June 10
Addressing a press conference here, Rajbhar said, 'Years ago, Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar defended Indian culture and identity by defeating the invading forces of Salar Masud Ghazi, the commander of Mahmud of Ghazni, who had marched into India with a three lakh-strong army, spreading loot and destruction.' Terming the event not just a military victory but a symbol of India's spiritual and cultural defence, Rajbhar said a grand celebration will be held on June 10 in Bahraich, where the decisive battle took place. While praising Suheldev's bravery, he accused the Congress and SP of erasing the king's legacy from history. Lucknow, Jun 2 (PTI) Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Monday said his party will celebrate 'Vijay Diwas' on June 10 to honour Maharaja Suheldev's victory over invaders. 'Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji will also grace the event. A 'Shaurya Mela' (fair of valour) will be organised, where people from all communities will participate. It will be an occasion to relive and preserve our proud cultural heritage,' Rajbhar said. He questioned the motives of political parties, who had allegedly ignored the contribution of Maharaja Suheldev. 'I want to ask Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and the Congress: Did you, for vote bank politics, try to erase the legacy of a national hero like Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar? Why was his story kept out of textbooks? Why did the Samajwadi Party organise events in memory of invader Salar Masud Ghazi in Bahraich, but never honoured Suheldev's bravery on the same land?' he said Maharaja Suheldev was a king of Shravasti, who was known for defeating and killing the Ghaznavid general Ghazi Miyan at Bahraich in 1034. Rajbhar accused the Congress and SP of hiding the contributions and valour of great personalities. 'In history, there was always fight with Mughals…For seeking the votes from their (Mughal) 'vanshaj' (heirs), SP and Congress did all the 'dramebaji',' he said. Rajbhar credited his party, SBSP, for raising demands for the installation of Suheldev's statue, the establishment of a university in his name, inclusion of his story in educational curricula, the issuance of commemorative stamps, and construction of memorials. 'I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Adityanath for recognising Maharaja Suheldev's contributions. His grand statue has been installed in Bahraich, a memorial park has been constructed near Chittaura Lake (Bahraich), and a university has been established in Azamgarh in his honour. A postage stamp has also been issued to mark his legacy,' Rajbhar said. He said Maharaja Suheldev was not just a hero of the Rajbhar community, but a protector of the Indian nation and its values. Hitting out at the Congress, Rajbhar claimed the party always worked against the country. 'Its leader Rahul Gandhi used to put the country in the dock during his visit abroad,' he alleged. Punjab BJP deletes post paying tributes to those killed during Operation Bluestar
In the post, the Punjab BJP had condemned the then Congress government for 'attacking the Golden Temple' and expressed solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives. The post on X was shared on Sunday but it was taken down later without assigning any reason for the same. Chandigarh, Jun 2 (PTI) The Punjab BJP has deleted a social media post in which it paid tributes to 'martyrs' of Operation Blue Star, the Army operation which was carried out in June 1984 to flush out armed militants from the Golden Temple. The post, which has now been deleted, read, 'June 1, 1984'' 'Saka Neela Tara'. A humble tribute to all the martyrs of the day one of the attack on the Darbar Sahib by the Congress government.' The BJP had also shared pictures of the damage suffered by the Akal Takht, which is the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, and an armoured vehicle with deflated tyres. The post, which was shared on Facebook as well, was deleted a few hours later. Meanwhile, officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj has appealed to the Sikh community to commemorate the first week of June, which he described it as 'Shaheedi Hafta' (martyrdom week), with the 'spirit of Panthic unity and pay respectful homage to the martyrs.' In a statement, Gargaj stated, 'In June 1984, when Sikh devotees had gathered to observe the martyrdom day of the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, the then Congress-led government launched a military assault using tanks, artillery, and bullets on the central Sikh religious place, Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, and Sri Akal Takht Sahib.' He said, 'the Sikh community can never forget the military attack of June 1984. 'The first week of June each year is a deeply emotional and solemn time for the 'Panth', when martyrs are remembered,' he said. The jathedar urged that from June 1 to 6, special 'Gurmat Samagams' (religious congregations), lectures, and seminars should be organised globally by Sikhs. He also instructed all gurdwara management committees to hold special Sri Akhand Path Sahib recitations and invite historians and preachers to gurdwaras to educate 'sangat' (congregation) about the events of June 1984 and November 1984 (anti-Sikh riots). PM Modi's rule inspires global trust, says Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy Sunday asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance has earned the trust and faith of the entire world, highlighting an eleven-year tenure free of corruption. Speaking in the meeting of the office bearers of the party at the BJP headquarters on Sunday, Reddy vehemently criticised the Congress and BRS as corrupt and family-centric parties, urging BJP cadres to disseminate details of Modi's transformative rule to every household. Reddy underscored the Modi government's 'zero tolerance' approach to corruption, contrasting it sharply with what he described as the 'scam-ridden' UPA regime. He emphasised the need to communicate the achievements of Modi's eleven years in power to the public, particularly in rural areas. The Minister lauded the current administration's efforts in strengthening states financially, noting an increase in central fund allocation from 32 per cent during Congress rule to the current 42 per cent. He pointed to the implementation of a 'corruption-free and efficient' Goods and Services Tax (GST) system. Reddy also highlighted a significant improvement in national security, claiming that while terrorist attacks, including those in Hyderabad, were commonplace during the Congress era, not a single major attack has occurred in the last 11 years. He specifically mentioned the destruction of the Pakistan-ISI network under Modi's leadership and recalled the loss of 42,000 lives – civilians and soldiers – in terror attacks during Congress' tenure. Reddy provided examples of the Modi government's decisive action against terrorism, citing the 'strong message' sent to militants following attacks and successful operations like the surgical strikes in Pathankot and air strikes, alongside a third operation dubbed 'Sindoor'. He also proudly spoke of the simultaneous modernisation of 1,300 railway stations across the country, including 40 in Telangana, a feat he attributed to the BJP and NDA. He also noted the end of power shortages that plagued industries under previous governments. Turning to social and economic reforms, Reddy highlighted the end of fertiliser shortages, with subsidies maintained without price increases. He credited Modi with the development of significant religious sites like the Kashi Vishwanath and Ujjain Mahakal temples. He lambasted the Congress' legacy on issues like Article 370, linking it to the nation's vulnerability to terrorism. The Minister also proudly listed initiatives such as providing 5 kg of rice to the poor, gas cylinders, housing, and water, as well as the Ayushman Bharat scheme extending healthcare to those over 70. Reddy called on the people of Telangana to protect the state from these 'family and corrupt parties,' asserting that the BJP was the only party genuinely committed to the state's development. He expressed confidence that the party could secure power in the upcoming assembly elections, urging them to abandon passive attitudes and work diligently. He dismissed the ongoing political and family dramas in Telangana, urging citizens not to be drawn into them, and instead to expose the corruption and irregularities of the BRS and Congress. He concluded by reiterating the call for unity under 'one flag and one agenda' inspired by the Prime Minister, and urged active participation in upcoming events like Environment Day on June 5 and Yoga Day on June 21, along with good governance programmes from June 8 to 18.
