L'Oréal Paris has announced the debut of Indian actor Alia Bhatt as its global brand ambassador at the 2025 Festival de Cannes, marking the brand's 28th consecutive year as the event's official beauty partner. The festival runs from May 13 to 24 and this year L'Oréal has taken 'Lights, Beauty and Action' as its theme.
'There's something absolutely special about firsts- and I'm so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression," said Alia Bhatt in a press release. "It is such an honour to represent L'Oréal Paris at the Festival with this year's theme, 'Lights, Beauty and Action'. To me, beauty is about celebrating individuality, confidence and self worth. It's limitless, it's unique. I'm proud to stand with a brand that celebrates every woman's journey and empowers them to shine in their own light.'
Bhatt will join long-time ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the festival, reinforcing L'Oréal Paris' focus on diverse representation and the growing global presence of Indian cinema. As part of its Indian strategy, L'Oréal Paris has also partnered with Nykaa to bring Cannes-inspired looks to local consumers, including the exclusive launch of its viral 'Plump Ambition Lip Oil' from May 1.
'The Festival de Cannes has always been a powerful platform for storytelling, creativity, and cultural dialogue- values that deeply resonate with L'Oréal Paris," said L'Oréal Paris' general manager Dario Zizzi. "As we mark 28 years as the Official Makeup Partner, we are especially proud to welcome Alia Bhatt to the global stage alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan whose presence we've cherished for over two decades. Alia's debut not only reflects the rising influence of Indian cinema but also our brand's enduring commitment to celebrating diverse beauty and empowering women across the world.'
