Bradford statues come to life in City of Culture parade
Statues including a bronze stag and an alpaca called Salt and Pepper have come to life as part of a parade celebrating Bradford's City of Culture year. The statues from Bowling Park and Lister Park have inspired Statuesque – a walkabout arts act featuring living statues and toured around Bradford, starting in Bowling Park earlier. The creations have been brought to life by artists Naomi Parker and Rachel Hyde – director of stilt walking company Chicks on Sticks.Ms Parker, who led the parade dressed as a squirrel, said: "The bear is inspired by the three bear statues in the playground of Bowling Park, and the stag is inspired by the bronze statue of a stag in Lister Park."
The parade will also appear at Cliffe Castle Park in August and Lister Park in September. The stag and bear were joined by two other local characters – Bracewell the Dragon inspired by Cliffe Castle and Salt and Pepper the Alpaca, based on Saltaire's history.Statuesque took place at the Beacon, a pop-up arts venue created for Bradford's City of Culture Year, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service. The venue is currently in Bowling Park, and Saturday's event also invited visitors to create their own artwork at a family-friendly crafts workshop.

Laura Adlington gets racy as she bares her cleavage in nothing but boob tape and admits her breasts 'look and feel massive' in candid pregnancy update
Pregnant Laura Adlington shared a bold photo of herself wearing nothing but boob tape on Instagram on Sunday. The British Bake Off star, 36, proudly showed off her curves in a mirror selfie while revealing that her breasts 'look and feel massive.' The pregnant star c onfirmed the sex of her first child with her husband Matt last week, following a nine-year fertility battle. The body-positivity influencer, who was off to a wedding on Sunday, captioned the snap on her Instagram stories: 'My t**s look (and feel) MASSIVE all of a sudden.' The candid update comes after Laura reveal the couple are expecting a boy, while sharing a sweet story about how their much-wanted baby was always 'meant to be'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She confirmed her pregnancy in April after 'quietly deciding to give IVF a try' over a year ago. The television baker previously gave up her hopes of having a baby after she was told by doctors that her only chance to get pregnant was to try IVF and she would have to lose a substantial amount of weight first to qualify. Posing with an adorable teddy bear outfit, Laura revealed she and Police Community Support Officer Matt eagerly bought the dungarees not long after she'd come off the contraceptive pill in the hope that their journey to parenthood would be swift. Although Laura was initially 'excited at the thought of finally becoming a mum', she 'had no idea how long or how hard the journey ahead would be'. Alongside the sweet photograph, she wrote: 'True story: About nine years ago, not long after I'd come off the pill, we popped into Tesco to grab a few bits for a family picnic. 'Excited at the thought of finally becoming a mum, I made a beeline for the baby section and picked up this little outfit. I held it up to Matt and said, "Shall we get it?". He laughed and reluctantly agreed. And into the trolley it went. 'Back then, I had no idea how long or how hard the journey ahead would be. Months passed. Then years. Negative test after negative test. So many tears. So much heartache.' Laura admitted she found it difficult seeing her friends and family get pregnant while it wasn't happening for her and Matt - and said she came close to giving away the baby outfit on many occasions. She continued: 'One of the hardest things was watching all our friends and family get pregnant, while we kept waiting with empty arms, wondering "When is it going to be our turn?". 'Over the years, there were times we were caught short needing a baby gift, and I was tempted to give this little outfit away (I didn't really know what else to do with it) until a friend gently asked how I'd feel seeing someone's else's baby in it, and suggested I hang onto it. 'And so I did. Three house moves and nearly a decade later, this tiny outfit has quietly stayed with us, tucked in a bottom drawer, or in the corner of a room that never got touched. 'Unless on very rare occasions I'd find it while spring cleaning and would hold it close to my chest, praying one day our baby might wear it. Well, earlier this year, as many of you know, our prayers were finally answered.' Confirming the gender of the couple's baby and her feelings about expecting a boy, Laura told her followers: 'And recently we found out we're having a little boy. I'll be honest: part of me had hoped for a girl. 'But looking back, we never bought a girl's outfit – just this one. So maybe that's the universe's way of saying this was always meant to be. 'Now, this little outfit isn't just a symbol of hope. It's waiting, just like we are, for the little boy who was always meant to fill it.'

Taskmaster fans appalled by 'absolutely foul and unhinged' challenge that they 'didn't think could be legally broadcast'
Taskmaster fans were left appalled by an 'absolutely foul and unhinged' challenge that they 'didn't think could be legally broadcast'. The latest series of the Channel 4 show, presented by Greg Davies, 57, and Alex Horne, 46, hit our screen last month. The programme has seen the likes of Fatiha El-Ghorri, Jason Mantzoukas, Mathew Bayton, Stevie Martin and Rosie Ramsey battle it out to be crowned Taskmaster's goldenhead. Episode Glass Half Most hit our screens on Thursday 12 June and Alex asked the five famous faces to eat yoghurt either the most or least dignified way. Alex said: 'Dignity, four of them chose most dignity, just the one with the least. We're going to start with the most dignity - Stevie and Jason.' A clip of Stevie sat in a dome with smart attire and a butler was played out, followed by one of Jason pretending the mix the yoghurt in a cocktail shaker. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Meanwhile Rosie ate hers while surrounded by people 'lacked social graces' and Fatima was seen relaxing on a sofa and given plenty of compliments as she enjoyed the food. Next up was Mathew's - and it certainly left viewers lost for words. Alex said: 'Now for the only competitor who settled for less. Consuming his yoghurt with the least dignity. Yes it's Mat.' In the clip, Alex could be seen waiting for Mat surrounded by a crowd of people, while a church bell rung. Mathew was then seen walking towards him in just his boxers, got on all fours and crawled towards Alex's feet while crying. He then started to lick the yoghurt off his shoes and said: 'Please forgive me daddy. I've got your shoes all mucky.' As he cried, one person filmed it on their phone, while the others watched in shock. Mathew then snapped out of character and asked: 'That sort of thing?' 'Yeah lovely,' Alex replied. Those watching at home were left lost for words over the segment. One said on X: 'I just watched the newest episode of Taskmaster. What Mat did for the yogurt task was the most unhinged thing I've seen on that show.' 'Mat undignified yogurt task is crazy absolutely foul #taskmaster.' 'I was NOT expecting that undignified performance from Mat... #taskmaster.' '#taskmaster I feel like I'mm watching an art film about Jesus with Mat's yogurt eating.' 'Oh Mat...#Taskmaster.' 'Oh God! Mat!!!! #Taskmaster.' 'NO MAT. NOOOOO. #Taskmaster.' 'Mat is really the king of prize tasks.' Mathew is an actor and comedian who shot to fame in 2000. He's appeared in various TV and films including The Falling, Wonka, Peep Show, Death in Paradise and Ghosts.

I hated my ugly concrete door step so transformed it with a Temu buy – no power tools were needed, it looks so good
THE first impression guests have of your home is how the front door looks - and it's bad news if it looks ugly. One woman shared how she transformed her unattractive front door step to look stylish and chic without too much effort. 4 4 Rosies, who posts under @rosielaurenhome, showed how she did the DIY job herself and didn't need to hire a professional to help. She shared in a video which has over 3,000 likes: 'I'm going to show you how easy it is to turn this ugly concrete step into this. 'So, I'm using mosaic tiles and this Turbo Set tile adhesive. Let's go.' She showed how she had picked up some black and white checked tiles for the job - and you can find a bargain replica on Temu for just £12 for 10 sheets. Rosie first laid out the tiles to work out exactly how many she would need, and loved how easy they were to cut. She then mixed up her adhesive and advised you to work quickly as it 'sets in around 15 minutes.' She added: 'I'm putting it directly onto the concrete, and then I'm leveling it out at the end. 'Once nice and level, I'm adding one mosaic tile at a time and gently tapping them evenly into the adhesive.' She then repeated the process until her entire step was covered with the stylish tiles. Although it didn't take long for everything to set, she said she waited until the next day to grout it. I spruced up my bland decking & gave it va-va-voom for summer with a HUGE Temu buy you can nab for just £8 down from £50 4 4 Rosie then showed how she covered the tiles with the grout paste, and said you have to 'trust the process' covering the beautiful tiles in black. She then simply wiped away the excess grout with a sponge and some warm water to reveal the finished stylish look. According to an attractive front of your house - known as 'curb appeal' - can boost your home's value by between five and 10 per cent. It seems many people were impressed with Rosie's hard work, with one saying: 'Such a great idea! currently renovating our house so saving this.' Another added: 'That's actually a brilliant idea, definitely gonna do this.'And a third wrote: 'love this am gonna copy.'
