Bad Company's Mick Ralphs dies aged 81
Guitarist, songwriter and Bad Company co-founder Mick Ralphs has died at the age of 81, it has been announced.
A message on the band's official website said Ralphs is 'survived by the love of his life, Susie Chavasse, his two children, three step-children', as well as his bandmates Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke.

Bad Company was formed in 1973 after the members of the bands Free, Mott The Hoople and King Crimson joined forces.
A statement from singer Rodgers on the website said: 'Our Mick has passed, my heart just hit the ground. He has left us with exceptional songs and memories. He was my friend, my songwriting partner, an amazing and versatile guitarist who had the greatest sense of humour.
'Our last conversation a few days ago we shared a laugh but it won't be our last. There are many memories of Mick that will create laughter. Condolences to everyone who loved him especially his one true love, Susie. I will see you in heaven.'

Drummer Kirke said: 'He was a dear friend, a wonderful songwriter, and an exceptional guitarist. We will miss him deeply.'

Ralphs' final performance with Bad Company was in October 2016, with the musician suffering a stroke the following month.
Free members Rodgers and Kirke had enjoyed success with their 1970s hit song All Right Now.
Ralphs had been part of Mott The Hoople, famed for their 1972 song All The Young Dudes, which was penned by David Bowie.
Vocalist and guitarist Raymond 'Boz' Burrell had been performing as part of rock band King Crimson.

Bad Company are due to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year.
The group rose to fame in 1974 with their self-titled debut album which included hits such as Can't Get Enough and Movin' On.
The album reached number three in the UK albums chart and went five-times platinum.
Bad Company later released Straight Shooter in 1975, followed by Run With The Pack, and both made it into the top five in the albums chart.

They were also known for rock anthems including Ready For Love, Rock Steady and the title track Bad Company.
Among those paying tribute to the late guitarist was Joe Elliott, lead singer of the hard rock band Def Leppard, who shared a post on the group's X account saying: 'I just heard the news … totally heartbroken … Mick has been a constant companion through my musical journey & he was one of the kindest souls I ever met. The world is a poorer place today.'
David Coverdale, lead singer of Deep Purple and then Whitesnake, said on X: 'Heartbreaking News…Loved Mick …Sweet, Sweet Man & Super Songwriter…My Sincere Condolences To His Family, Friends & Fans.'
In another post, he added: 'Mick Ralphs was the first person I played the original song idea to Love Ain't No Stranger before I played it to the band…he was super encouraging…A total sweetheart.'

MobLand's future has been revealed after mixed reviews and a cliffhanger ending that left fans reeling. The gangster drama, directed by Guy Ritchie, premiered on Paramount+ in March and features an A-list cast including Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. MobLand delves into the story of two crime families engulfed in 'a battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives,' according to the synopsis. Since the first season aired, the series has attracted a whopping 26 million views. Now, it has been confirmed that MobLand will see a second season and Paramount boss Chris McCarthy shared the news. 'We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the United Kingdom,' he said. It comes after lead star Pierce's 'unwatchable' accent sparked fan backlash. An insider told The Sun: 'Viewers have been mocking his Irish accent — which is ironic given he was born in Ireland and lived there till he was four years old. 'But he's always had a cut-glass English delivery. Clearly making the shift back to an Irish accent was not as smooth as expected.' 'Harry is definitely the cherry on top of the cake and the showrunners are not oblivious to that. 'If the show has a season 2, Harry will be in there and he would've survived.' The series has received a respectable 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes and many viewers have shared positive verdicts. One fan posted on X: 'Just watched Episode 1 of #Mobland. I love everything Guy Ritchie, having Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan & Helen Mirren in the mix is such a deal sweetener. The Benidorm reboot is 'in crisis' after the show's creator and one of the lead stars were rocked by a 'miserable' divorce. Writer Derren Litten, 54, and Mateo Castellano star Jake Canuso, 55, had been together for years and lived in Benidorm, Spain. However, in 2022 they decided to go their separate ways and officially divorced last year. This could make the show's return to our screens, eight years after it was axed, a little bit complicated, according to insiders. A source told The Sun: 'Matteo is Benidorm, he's the character that everyone wants to see. 'He's been part of the Solana since the beginning so for him not to feature in any future reboot, well it just would not be the same without him. 'Jake created one of the show's most loved characters in Matteo, but with everything that's happened between him and Derren, it's not looking good.' Another added: 'Conversations have been had. 'The only way Jake will return is if ITV make him a huge offer, one that he could not possibly turn down. 'But obviously Derren is making negotiations difficult. He is the writer and creator and believes that he should make all the decisions. 'The fans would want to see Matteo, which ITV get. It's all become one big headache.' Taking to X to address their split last year, Derren said: 'I don't really talk about my personal life here but the reason I've been a bit scarce on the socials is for the last 18 months I've been going through a pretty miserable divorce. 'An 11th series hasn't been commissioned yet, but there's major excitement building as early talks begin. The hilarious sitcom began in 2007 but came to an end in May 2018, and fans have been begging for more ever since 'Producers have started to reach out to the show's stars and are hopefully a decision can be made later this year.' Announcing the news on social media that it had been axed in 2018, Derren said: 'Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm! 'I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. It's difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching!' Actor Shane Richie waded into the debate, admitting he has disappointed by the decision to axe Benidorm after 11-years.
