Wales back Keight to join Sale Sharks in summer
Wales international Courtney Keight will join Sale Sharks Women for the 2025-26 season.The versatile back - who can operate at centre, full-back or on the wing - will depart Bristol Bears Women having signed a one-year deal with Sharks.Keight said: "I have always placed a lot of importance on a good environment and culture because I want to feel like I'm valued and supported and part of a team."I've always seen Sale as being a place where that's the case. Players and coaches support each other and have fun, they celebrate everything together and that really drew me to the club.
"On the pitch there's obviously a lot of investment and that tells me that there's a lot of ambition to be successful in the future. As a whole it looks like a great place to be and I can see myself thriving. I can't wait to get started."Sharks' new head coach Tom Hudson said: "I've spent the past two seasons as a competitor, looking for a weakness in Courtney's game, so I'm incredibly happy and relieved that that's everyone else's problem now."She has so much potential still and we have every intention of ripping off the mask and turning her into a PWR superstar."

Contractors fined £685k for non-compliant Norfolk roadworks
A county council has issued fines totalling £685,000 in a year for non-compliant County Council said it issued 44,000 street and roadwork permits in 2024-25 to utility firms and it said it rejected 5,400 of 7,000 applications for unplanned emergency works, deeming them penalty notices totalling £340,000 were handed out for 2,809 repairs that did not have a permit or failed to comply with permit conditions. The remaining £345,000 was collected from 306 repair jobs which overran, causing a total of 1,317 additional days of disruption on the county's roads County Council said 74 utility companies had the legal right to undertake works on public highways, and as such its powers "remain limited under national legislation".But the council said it was "committed to holding companies accountable" and in the past 12 months it successfully prosecuted two utility companies where a court imposed fines totalling almost £100,000, with full costs Plant, cabinet member for highways, infrastructure and transport said: "We are doing everything within our power to manage the impact of roadworks on Norfolk's communities."But the reality is that we don't have the authority to stop or delay many of these works. June 3 (Reuters) - UK-based medical device company CMR Surgical has put itself up for sale at a valuation of up to $4 billion, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter. The surgical robotics maker had hired advisers in recent weeks to initiate the sale process, likely to elicit interest from large strategic buyers, the report added. Founded in 2014, CMR Surgical received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for the upgraded version of its flagship Versius surgical robot in October last year, to be used in gall bladder removal procedures. Reuters could not immediately verify the report. CMR Surgical did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours.

Cambridgeshire schools successful in bid for £460m repair pot
Ten projects at schools and sixth forms in a county have been awarded funding as part of a £460m pot for essential money will be spent on new boilers, upgrades to electrical rewiring, fire safety improvements and structural repairs in buildings in Cambridgeshire. Across the East of England, 106 schools out of 270 were successful in applying for funding, worth £80.4m in Phillipson, the Education Secretary, said the investment was about "showing children that education matters". It's what children deserve, and it is what we are delivering."This investment is about more than just buildings – it's about showing children that their education matters, their futures matter, and this government is determined to give them the best possible start in life."More than 4,000 academies, sixth form colleges and voluntary-aided schools across England were eligible to apply for the England, just 28% of applications for funding for projects were successful.
