Rangers target Josh Mulligan is being eyed by three clubs down south - as former boss Barry Ferguson 's brother revealed he would be open to a return to management
Dundee star Mulligan is out of contract this summer and is officially a free agent. And that has alerted numerous sides who are interested in the midfielder who played 41 times for the Dees last term.

Mulligan had held talks with Rangers back in January as they considered a pre-contract deal for the player, similar to the one they struck with his team-mate Lyall Cameron.

The Ibrox outfit ultimately opted to put their transfer business on hold as they finalised the arrival of Kevin Thelwell and Dan Purdy and that opened the door to English clubs to make their interest known.
It is understood that next season's League One sides Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City are both keen on Mulligan.
Championship side Oxford United also hold an interest in the versatile star who will have his pick of the bunch after a strong campaign in the Premiership.
Meanwhile, Derek Ferguson has revealed brother Barry could be back in the dugout in the future - and reckons his sibling could step into the dugout again if it doesn't work out for new boss Russell Martin.
Ferguson left his role as Rangers interim boss following the conclusion of the Premiership season with Martin the new man in charge.
Speaking to Ibrox News, Derek said: 'It's always hard to say, but he really enjoyed being the figurehead. He'll go back to his ambassadorial role for now, and if things don't go well with this next appointment, of course he could fill in as caretaker manager again. It could well be a job for life.

'Barry was obviously really disappointed not to have got the manager's job full-time. He was initially brought in with the intention to help out.
'But once you get your feet under the table, get your feet on the grass, it whets the appetite. Maybe now he has a different outlook if something else comes up.

'There are a number of jobs out there in Scotland and you never say never. He put together a good coaching team and the likes of Neil McCann and Billy Dodds will look to get back into the coaching side of things.
'Barry handled the job really well while he was there, and it looked like it was working.
"You're left to wonder what could have been in the long term, but it wasn't to be. You may well see Barry and the other boys in another job in the future.'
Elsewhere, Flynn Downes is reportedly wanted in Govan this summer.
But Southampton would demand a huge fee of at least £10m to sell - and that could price the LIght Blues out of a swoop, according to The Sun.
Downes cost £15millon on their return to the EPL - but the Saints are back in the second tier after finishing bottom in ultimately a campaign to forget.

'He gave everything' - Clement hails Tavernier's impact

Former Rangers manager Philippe Clement has heaped praise on captain James Tavernier for the impact he has had in his decade at the right-back has lifted all three domestic trophies, playing 513 times while contributing 130 goals - a record for a British defender - and 142 the 33-year-old has often been a target for supporter ire as Rangers have commonly lost out to Celtic in the battle for silverware during his time at Ibrox."If you're a captain in a winning team then you're an amazing captain," Clement told BBC Scotland. "If you're a captain in a losing team you're not a good captain."That's life of being a captain or being a manager in that sense for fans. It's not an easy job, but [Tavernier] got used to it in a way and gave his best."He gave everything for the club and he tried to help all the players adapt to the environment of Rangers and what fans are expecting of the players."Read more from BBC Scotland's interview with ex-Rangers boss Clement

Philippe Clement pinpoints Rangers breaking point as flop boss admits board 'listened to fans too much'

Philippe Clement has pinpointed the moment he felt his Rangers breaking point had arrived. The Belgian boss was given the boot at Ibrox last season with rivals Celtic running away at the top of the Premiership and no chance of silverware after a Premier Sports Cup Final defeat and a major Scottish Cup upset at Ibrox from Queen's Park. Despite winning plaudits for his results and performances in the Europa League, his side couldn't replicate it week to week in the domestic bread and butter and ultimately it proved costly to the 51-year-old after he was axed. It is all change at Ibrox now with 49ers Enterprises completing their takeover at the club and Russell Martin now in as manager. But former boss Clement believes THAT Hampden defeat to Brendan Rodgers was the 'vital game' as he admitted the board 'maybe listened too much to some fans' as he looked back on his time in Govan. He told BBC Sport Scotland: "I had a feeling, a bad feeling, after the League Cup final. I think it was a vital game. "If we had won, there would have been more patience with the fans also and the board could have stayed much calmer. "It's a pity that the story stopped, that the board didn't have the patience, or maybe listened too much to some fans. "There are other clubs where there is a difficult moment and everybody sticks together because everybody knows the story, how the work is done inside the building, and they continue and they are successful afterwards. "In three or four windows, we could have closed the gap [to Celtic] with a good development of players, but the decision is made and you need to accept it." It is set to be a busy summer at Rangers with a host of names already linked with joining the new Martin revolution. But Clement reckons FIVE players at the club now have real sell on value and teams would pay good money for their services. Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande have both been linked with summer exits - the latter with Everton. But there are also others who the Belgian reckons could net a tidy windfall. He continued: "Nicolas Raskin made a really good evolution. A lot of clubs are interested in him. "But you also have Jefte, Hamza Igamane, Clinton Nsiala, who will have a better value. Mohamed Diomande is also one of those guys. "The club has worked well the past year in that way. "There are now four or five players with the value to sell and several teams would pay good amounts of money.

I'm an Italy World Cup hero and Scott McTominay is my son's idol - Man United were crazy to sell him

The King of Naples has had a season he will never forget in Serie A with club side Napoli Marco Materazzi reckons Manchester United were 'crazy' to sell Scotland star Scott McTominay. And the legendary defender has revealed the Napoli ace is his own son's idol. ‌ The Italy World Cup hero is convinced the new King of Naples was the reason Antonio Conte's men got over the line as they tasted Serie A title glory and he is still in disbelief at the price tag they got the midfielder out of Old Trafford. ‌ McTominay - part of Steve Clarke's Scotland squad who head for a friendly at Liechtenstein - helped Napoli clinch the league by netting a sensational goal in the final game of the season. They pipped Materazzi's former club Inter Milan to the title and the 51-year-old - who was famously on the end of a Zinedine Zidane headbutt in the 2006 World Cup Final where he scored also Italy's equaliser as they lifted the trophy - is a huge fan of the Scotsman. He said: "To win Serie A, all Inter need is one or two good transfers. Look at Napoli signing Scott McTominay. That won it for them. "McTominay is my son's idol by the way! "I always felt Manchester United were crazy to let him leave and crazy for the transfer fee they got from him." McTominay was part of the Scotland team that suffered at the hands of Iceland on Friday night. ‌ He started alongside Napoli team-mate Billy Gilmour and Bologna's Lewis Ferguson in a Serie A midfield trio. But they couldn't help bring some cheer to the Tartan Army as the visitors ran out 3-1 winners at Hampden. The Dark Blues now head for minnows Liechtenstein in desperate need of a confidence boosting win ahead of the World Cup qualifying campaign later this year.
