Bahrain training institutes in deal to boost national workforce skills

Trade Arabia06-04-2025

The Bahrain Society of Private Training Institutes (BSPTI) has reiterated its firm commitment to deepening collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, with the shared goal of enhancing national competencies and equipping Bahraini talent with the resources and skills necessary to excel in an increasingly competitive labour market.
This initiative aims to harness and invest in the capabilities of local professionals as a sustainable pillar for national development across various sectors, said senior officials of the BSPTI during an official meeting held at the ministry's headquarters.
It was attended by Dr Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, the Bahrain Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Labour Minister, and BSPTI Chairman Nawaf Al Jishi along with its board members.
The discussions focused on strengthening avenues for joint cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of training programmes tailored for Bahraini nationals.
Lauding Dr Khalaf's efforts in advancing this critical agenda, Al Jishi said his ministry had played a vital role in stabilising the private training sector and helping them grow.
He highlighted the significance of delivering high-calibre training programmes that not only prepare the national workforce but also position them as top-tier candidates for employment in both public and private sectors.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of improving programme outcomes to align with current labour market demands, raising overall quality and efficiency standards, and ensuring that national training initiatives reflect the evolving nature of work - particularly in response to ongoing technological advancements.
These developments necessitate equipping trainees with forward-looking, market-relevant skills, he added.
Al Jishi said the strategic initiatives undertaken by the Society, in partnership with various private training institutes, are instrumental in supporting the integration of Bahraini citizens into the labour market.
"These efforts are designed to provide the economy with qualified, skilled professionals who are equipped to meet the evolving demands of today's workplace," he stated.
