Thomas Frank remains to be Tottenham Hotspur's number one target and is the bookies firm favourite to replace Ange Postecoglou following his brutal exit from the club
Tottenham, is setting its sights on Thomas Frank, the current manager of Brentford, as their potential new head coach following the recent dismissal of former coach Ange Postecoglou.
While Brentford anticipates a formal inquiry from Tottenham in the near future, no official communication between the clubs has been confirmed as yet. The 51-year-old Danish manager has risen to become a top candidate for the vacant position at Tottenham and is currently the bookies favourite at 1/6 with Ladbrokes to take over the north London club.
Should Frank be lured away from Brentford, Tottenham would be obliged to pay a hefty compensation. Insiders suggest that it could cost Tottenham upwards of £10m to buy out Frank's contract, which is set to run until 2027.
The total compensation could inflate further depending on the number of staff members Frank chooses to bring along if he takes up the helm at Spurs.
Postecoglou's tenure ended abruptly last Friday, just over two weeks after he steered them to triumph in the Europa League final. This victory marked their first major win in 17 years but despite this high point, Spurs had a dismal Premier League season, finishing 17th after suffering defeats in 22 out of their 38 matches.
Frank assumed control at Brentford in 2018 and has since navigated them into the Premier League. Under his guidance, they clinched victory in the Championship play-off final at Wembley in 2021 and have secured their place as a top-tier team despite operating on a modest budget.
This season, Brentford outperformed Tottenham by finishing 10th in the Premier League standings, a significant seven places and 18 points ahead of Spurs.
