WNBA rookie Paige Bueckers' romance with UConn star Azzi Fudd seemingly confirmed
UConn basketball star Azzi Fudd has appeared to confirm her relationship with ex-teammate Paige Bueckers in a new social media post.
Fans have long speculated that the close friends - who spent four seasons playing together for the Huskies - were romantically involved, as Fudd accompanied Bueckers to the WNBA Draft this spring.
And Fudd has given the strongest indication yet that the basketball players are indeed an item, as she showed off an extremely telling phone case.
Fudd posted a mirror selfie of her getting her hair styled, and fans realized that her phone case read: 'paige bueckers' girlfriend.'
Fudd is smiling wide in the Instagram story, though no other explicit mention to Bueckers is made in the post.
The pair previously 'hard launched' their relationship in the eyes of some fans after Fudd posted a TikTok of her getting the 'princess treatment' with Bueckers in May.
In the short clip, Fudd can be seen mouthing the words, 'How much was it?' after being treated to a $200 meal.
Bueckers jokingly crossed her arms in dismay when Fudd said 'that's not bad', after learning the price of the meal.
And Fudd captioned the clip: 'Princess treatment every time I'm with her #spoiled.'
Fans went wild on social media in response to Fudd's most recent post featuring her Bueckers-themed phone case.
'GOOD F******G MORNING TO ME,' one wrote on X.
'she got tired of being called best friend,' another said.
'and she made sure that IT SHOWS,' a third added.
And a fourth said: 'HAPPY PRIDE MONTH.'
The incoming fifth-year senior made the trip to New York for Bueckers WNBA Draft Day in May, as she was selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings.
And the pair shared an emotional hug after Bueckers heard her name called at The Shed on April 15.
Just nine days before, the pair helped lead UConn to an emphatic national championship win over South Carolina, defeating their opponents 82-59.
Fudd was extremely impressive in the win, scoring 24 points and hauling in five rebounds, while Bueckers added 17 points and six boards in the win.
The 23-year-old is thriving in her debut season in the WNBA as she's averaged 18 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 10 games thus far.
Her Wings will face the Washington Mystics on Sunday.

Machine Gun Kelly bonds with daughter at 2025 Kids' Choice Awards after opening up on Megan Fox relationship
Machine Gun Kelly enjoyed a rare outing with his daughter Casie as they attended the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Santa Monica on Saturday. The 35-year-old Bad Things rapper — who recently broke his silence on his relationship with Megan Fox — flashed a cheerful smile as he joined his eldest child on the star-studded orange carpet ahead of the main ceremony. The music artist shares the 15-year-old with ex Emma Cannon. He is also father to a newborn baby girl named Saga Blade whom he welcomed with Fox in March. MGK — whose real name is Colson Baker — donned a black corduroy jumpsuit as well as a pair of black boots. The ensemble was partially unzipped around the collar and he completed the outfit by adding a silver-chained necklace. Casie was also dressed for the occasion wearing a light purple minidress with ruched details and a strip of fabric flowed down towards the ground on the left side. She slipped into a pair of silver strappy heels and allowed her dark locks to cascade down in light waves past her shoulders. MGK and Casie last walked the red carpet together four years ago while at the American Music Awards in 2021. Kelly later had an outfit change as he took to the stage to perform for the live audience inside the venue at Barker Hangar. He sported a long-sleeved white top as well as a printed black shirt and loose-fitting denim jeans. At the end of his performance, the rapper was covered with green smile and tossed his arms into the air seconds afterwards. MGK later strutted back onto the orange carpet to pose for photos while covered in the neon green slime. In one image, the star placed his hands on top of his head with a shocked expression while his daughter Casie was seen in a fit of laughter. His appearance at the awards show comes shortly after he broke his silence on his relationship with ex-fiancée Megan Fox following their split late last year in November. The name of their baby girl — Saga Blade Fox-Baker — was recently revealed and the rapper added, 'She's killing it. I'm so excited.' He opened up about the special meaning behind their child's moniker and explained it was in reference to his and Megan's journey to having a baby. The Transformers actress previously had a miscarriage and he said of Saga's name: 'Coming back again, disappearing, coming back again. She is an epic story. And that's what Saga means. 'I'm also of Norwegian heritage so that's the Nordic goddess of storytelling,' MGK continued. 'I think she has a storytelling future ahead of her.' A few months earlier in March, the actress welcomed her fourth child - and first - with Machine Gun Kelly. At the time, MGK jumped to social media to announce that the little one had been born and wrote, 'She's finally here!! our little celestial seed 3/27/25.' The music artist also included a black and white video of the infant's tiny hand wrapping around one of his fingers. The pair have since been navigating co-parenting the newborn after Megan officially split from the Bad Things rapper late last year in November after reportedly discovering he was talking to other women behind her back. Last month in May, Fox revealed that her baby with Kelly had been unplanned as she took to her Instagram stories. She uploaded a video of herself at six weeks pregnant and penned to her followers, '38 years old six weeks pregnant (unplanned but a happy surprise).' Megan continued, 'Please stop listening to the patriarchy. Women are eternal light beings. We do not have an expiration date. Don't let them rob you of your power.' Along with her new baby girl, the actress is also mom to Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, eight, whom she shares with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. MGK has since given other small glimpses of Saga on his Instagram page, such as a snap of him holding the little one which was taken through the reflection of a vehicle. One of the big winners at the Kids' Choice Awards was Rihanna, who was honored with the Icon Award. Even though she didn't attend in person, she delivered an acceptance speech via video. Sabrina Carpenter teases shocking new phone policy at her concerts despite fan outrage
Sabrina Carpenter is considering banning phones at her concerts, despite the fact that the rule may 'piss off' her dedicated fans. The 25-year-old pop star, who's currently enjoying a chart-topping moment with her hit Manchild, told Rolling Stone in a new interview that she was 'absolutely' considering introducing phone-free gigs, even if the decision isn't immediately popular with fans. She revealed that the idea first struck her after she attended a Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas. 'This will honestly piss off my fans,' she admitted to the publication. 'I went to see Silk Sonic in Vegas, and they locked my phone. I've never had a better experience at a concert.' She described the Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak–led concert as feeling 'like I was back in the '70s,' a time when fans were fully immersed in live music instead of watching it through a screen. 'Genuinely felt like I was there. Everyone's singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful,' she added to the outlet. The star said that because she has grown up in the age of iPhones at shows, it feels 'super normal' to her to constantly be starring at the artist through her camera lens. Although she hasn't enforced any formal ban yet, Sabrina revealed the concept has been on her mind as she imagines her future self performing for decades to come. 'Depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away,' she joked. 'You cannot zoom in on my face. Right now, my skin is soft and supple. It's fine. Do not zoom in on me when I'm 80 years old up there.' For now, the Espresso singer is still letting fans film and snap pics of her on stage - but it seems that after her experience - she's gently urging them to stay more present. Sabrina joins a growing wave of artists - including Adele, Madonna, and Bob Dylan - who have spoken out about the distractions caused by phones during performances. Despite the success of her new single - ahead of her album Man's Best Friend dropping August 29 - the Feather singer is in hot water over her raunchy album cover, which features her provocatively kneeling beside a suited man with a fistful of her hair. She recently clapped back at the backlash on X. When one user asked, 'Does she have a personality outside of sex?' the 26-year-old pop star replied on Monday: 'Girl yes and it is goooooood.' Sabrina has also received criticism for the simulated sex positions she demonstrated onstage while performing her song Juno during her Short n' Sweet Tour. 'It's always so funny to me when people complain,' Sabrina told Rolling Stone. 'They're like, "All she does is sing about this." But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly, you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show.' The two-time Grammy winner continued: 'There's so many more moments than the Juno positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. 'I can't control that. If you come to the show, you'll [also] hear the ballads, you'll hear the more introspective numbers. 'I find irony and humor in all of that because it seems to be a recurring theme. I'm not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes.'

Goalkeeper Andrada denies River Plate to earn draw for Monterrey
LOS ANGELES, June 21 (Reuters) - Monterrey held on to claim a 0-0 draw with River Plate in Group E of the Club World Cup at the Rose Bowl on Saturday as both clubs maintained their hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds. Goalkeeper Esteban Andrada made vital second-half saves from Franco Mastantuono and Miguel Borja to secure a point for the Mexican side, who had drawn their opening game against Inter Milan on Tuesday. River Plate's Kevin Castano was sent off in injury time for a second bookable offence as his side moved level on four points with the Italians at the top of standings. Monterrey sit two points behind the Argentinian side. River Plate will next face Inter Milan in Seattle on Wednesday, while Monterrey take on already-eliminated Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan at the Rose Bowl.
