Myles Garrett doesn't hold back when asked about the opportunity to face Aaron Rodgers in the AFC North
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is excited to play Aaron Rodgers twice a year. The Browns' star sack artist was asked Tuesday at minicamp about facing the new Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback. Garrett didn't mince words. The pressure will be on Pittsburgh's offensive line to give Rodgers time to throw this season, especially against a confident Myles Garrett and a head-turning Cleveland Browns defensive line.

PITTSBURGH — On Tuesday morning at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, Aaron Rodgers stepped in front of his new team for the first time as the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback. After months of uncertainty and speculation, which included Rodgers missing the first six OTA practices, the new signal caller had a message for his new teammates. Rodgers is scheduled to talk with the media at 3:15 p.m. ET, where he'll have an opportunity to explain what took so long to make his decision public and why he thinks this year will be different than his five-win season with the Jets. While Rodgers won four MVPs and a Super Bowl, the big question is: How much does he have left at 41 years old and after a torn Achilles? At one time, his mobility allowed him to create outside of structure and complete off-platform throws. His accuracy also declined, as Rodgers threw 11 interceptions to go along with his 28 touchdown passes and 3,897 passing yards. By signing Rodgers, the Steelers are betting that a cerebral athlete can use his brain and experience to work around any physical limitations in a similar way to what Peyton Manning did at the end of his career. There's also hope that, further removed from his Achilles injury, he'll be healthier and more mobile. Rodgers, who still has some juice left in his right arm, will be supported by the NFL's highest-paid defense and enters a run-heavy offense that won't ask him to throw the ball as much as he did last season when he logged the second-most attempts in the league. Many teammates spoke about what they think Rodgers can bring to a new-look offense. '(We're) very excited,' second-year receiver Roman Wilson said. 'A guy (who is) probably a Hall of Famer. Super Bowl champion. A lot of experience. A lot of wisdom and a guy I can learn from.' Last year, the Steelers tried a similar formula, hoping the NFL's highest-paid defense and a run-heavy offense could support the veteran Russell Wilson. After a promising start to the season, the offense ground to a halt down the stretch with the Steelers scoring just 14.2 points per game in their final five games (four regular-season losses and a first-round playoff exit). Quarterback Marcus Mariota headlines an impressive Oregon Ducks Hall of Fame class
This was the no-brainer of all no-brainers. As soon as he was eligible, the University of Oregon inducted quarterback Marcus Mariota into the Athletics Hall of Fame. The former signal caller headlines an impressive class that includes a Bowerman Award winner, an Olympic medalist, a Rimington Trophy finalist and nine NCAA championships. Along Mariota will be javelin thrower Sam Crouser, lineman Hroniss Grasu, track star Jenna Prandini, softball player Janie (Takeda) Reed and the 2011-14 women's indoor track and field teams. "The 2025 Hall of Fame Class for Oregon Athletics is truly exceptional, including a Heisman Trophy winner, a Bowerman Award recipient, an Olympic medalist, and multiple NCAA team and individual national champions," said Ducks Athletic Director Rob Mullens. "The excellence achieved by all inductees places them among the very elite in the storied history of Oregon Athletics, and we look forward to honoring them and their remarkable achievements this fall as they take their well-deserved place in the Hall of Fame." One might think these inductees should already be in the Oregon Hall of Fame, given their accolades, and each has a strong case to be in the HOF as soon as they left Oregon, especially Mariota. He won the first and so far only Heisman Trophy for Oregon football. He's the most decorated football player in school history with 36 wins, more than any of his contemporaries in three seasons, while breaking numerous school and conference records. Not only did Mariota capture the Heisman, he was also the Player of the Year by the Associated Press, the winner of the Walter Camp Football Foundation, and the Maxwell Award. Mariota was the Pac-12's first three-time all-conference first-team quarterback and finished his career with the school and league record for total offense (13,033), as well as the University's all-time standards for passing yards (10,796), passing touchdowns (105), 300-yard passing games (17), completions (779), attempts (1,167), completion percentage (.668), and starts (41). It's only fitting that the guy who snapped the ball to Mariota for a lot of those games should also be in the Oregon Hall of Fame himself. But Grasu was much more than Mariota's center. He was a four-year starter on teams that won the Rose Bowl twice and the Fiesta Bowl once, and played for the CFP National Championship. Grasu earned first-team All-America honors as both a junior and a senior when he was also a two-time finalist for the Rimington Trophy given to the nation's top center. Grasu received First Team All-America honors from and SB Nation in 2013 on a team that defeated Texas, 30-7, in the Alamo Bowl and ranked second nationally in total offense (565.0 ypg) and fourth in scoring (45.5 ppg). Grasu's senior season was one of the best in program history. The Ducks won the Pac-12 title by defeating Arizona, 51-13, in the league championship game and routed Florida State, 59-20, in the CFP National Semifinal at the Rose Bowl before falling to Ohio State in the championship game.
