At an age when most are still mapping out their futures, Akash Kanjwani had already set his course and never looked back. What started as a spark of inspiration ignited by Dubai's evolving real estate laws has today transformed into a legacy of innovation, integrity, and impact.
As the Founder and CEO of Sky View Group, Kanjwani has spent over two decades reshaping how real estate is experienced, not just transacted.
'I wasn't chasing deals. I was creating value.'
Kanjwani's story begins not with a contract, but with a conviction. 'At 20, I officially chose real estate as a career, but my interest began much earlier,' he recalls.
'Back then, there was no freehold ownership in Dubai. I watched my family and community members constantly navigate tenancy contracts and relocations. The inability to own property stuck with me.'
So when Dubai opened the door to freehold ownership, Kanjwani saw more than just opportunity, he saw purpose. 'It was a game-changer,' he says.
'That moment lit a fire in me. Real estate was no longer just about structures. It became about stability, empowerment, and building futures.'
From his early days in the industry, Kanjwani set himself apart by focusing on what others often overlooked — the emotional and human side of real estate. 'I wasn't just selling properties. I was helping people see the potential in spaces they would've otherwise ignored. It wasn't about closing a deal; it was about building trust,' he says.
That trust would become the cornerstone of Sky View Group, a company built on three unwavering pillars: integrity, service, and innovation.
Redefining success
Like many entrepreneurs, Kanjwani's early milestones were defined by personal wins — a closed deal, a key client, a sales record. But over time, his vision of success evolved.
'Today, success means something else entirely,' he reflects. 'It's about watching my team grow, seeing them buy their first homes, or step into leadership roles. When they win, I win.'

Scaling a business in a fast-moving market like Dubai's isn't without its challenges especially when it comes to preserving culture. 'In the beginning, I personally interviewed every hire,' Kanjwani says. 'Now, with our growth, that's no longer possible. So we've put systems in place — structured processes, performance metrics, and constant feedback loops to ensure our values stay intact.' And those values are non-negotiable. 'I'd rather lose a top-performing broker than keep someone who doesn't align with our culture of integrity,' he adds. 'Customer trust will always outweigh short-term profits.'
From brokerage to bold developments
While many real estate firms focus solely on brokerage, Sky View Group is taking a bold leap forward with Sky View Development, launching projects that blend smart design with real, lived-in value. Its debut project, Avion Residence, is a testament to that vision. 'We're leveraging everything we've learned from our clients over the years — what they want in terms of space, design, and amenities and channeling it into our developments,' says Kanjwani. Sky View has also expanded into media, embracing the content revolution sweeping through the real estate world. 'It's not just about listings anymore,' he explains. 'It's about stories, experiences, and making emotional connections through content.'
Real estate in the age of AI
So, what's next for real estate in a world driven by technology?
Kanjwani sees AI as an indispensable ally, not a replacement. 'There's a lot of talk about AI replacing brokers, but that's not going to happen. Buying property is deeply personal. People still want validation from a trusted human before making a major life decision.'
However, he acknowledges the power of AI to transform the backend — from better lead generation to improved customer service. 'We're actively integrating AI into our systems,' he shares. 'It helps us better understand our clients, stay efficient, and offer more personalized experiences.'
But the human connection? That remains irreplaceable.
Despite all the shifts in the market, Kanjwani believes client expectations haven't changed all that much. 'People still want the same things — honesty, responsiveness, and someone they can trust,' he says. 'What's changed is the number of agents in the market. That's why we focus on building stronger, more capable teams. A better agent is our biggest differentiator.'
