France lose Dembele and Barcola to injury ahead of Germany clash
Strikers Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola will be unavailable for France's Nations League third-place clash against Germany on Sunday, the French Football Federation said.
Dembele had to be substituted late in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Spain, and a medical examination later revealed a lesion while Barcola is struggling with a knee injury.
Neither of the Paris St Germain players will be replaced.
Portugal and Spain will contest the Nations League final on Sunday after the third-place match. REUTERS

PHOTO: AFP BARCELONA - England coach Thomas Tuchel criticised his team after they struggled to a 1-0 victory away to Andorra in a World Cup qualifier on June 7. The German has won his first three matches in charge with no goals conceded but had it not been for Harry Kane's 50th-minute goal his team would have faced humiliation against a side ranked 173rd in the world. After collecting the three points that put England in command of Group K, Tuchel made no attempt to sugar coat a performance that was way below par. 'We can just admit it that it's not what we expect from us. We need to look at it in detail and do better on Tuesday,' the German told ITV Sport. 'We lost all momentum after the first 25 minutes and lacked the quality and the energy. I was most worried in the last 20 minutes, I did not like the attitude that we ended the game with. I didn't like the lack of urgency. It is still a World Cup qualifier away from home.' England had 83 per cent of the possession against a nation they had scored 25 goals against without reply in six previous meetings, but suffered from a chronic lack of imagination. Asked if his message before the game had not got through to his players, Tuchel added: 'The message got across because we had a good 25 minutes but then the energy and the determination weren't there anymore.' It was a refreshingly honest take from the former Paris St Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager, whose contract with England only runs to the date of the 2026 World Cup final. He did have kind words, however, for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke whose display was about the only bright point for England. Defending series champions Spain, who won the San Francisco event in March, made it look easy despite light winds and strong tides as they took the first win of the day. Competing against one of the most famous skylines in the world on the iconic Hudson River, they sailed away from the fleet and led at mark one before sealing a 14-second lead over second New Zealand on the finish line. After a brilliant opening performance, Spain were off to a turbulent start in the second race but finished fourth, moving up from their last 12th position at the start line. They started at the back once again in the third and last fleet race of the day but moved themselves up into the third to lead overnight on 25 points before day two of the event on Sunday. Spain, led by Olympic champion driver Botin, are five points ahead of second-placed Denmark and France in third. Australia and Brazil were going head to head in the second race before Tom Slingsby's team, now rebranded as the BONDS Flying Roos after new celebrity co-owners Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds were announced on Thursday, took the win. New Zealand, winners in New York last year, won the third race but 11th spot in the second saw them finish fourth for the day. The race was brought forward due to a storm forecast later in the day, and started two and a half hours earlier than originally scheduled. The global racing championship is back into action after a wingsail defect forced a brief hiatus with the cancellation of May's Rio event.
