EXCLUSIVE Their lavish lifestyle is the talk of high society... and now police have knocked down the front door: Inside the opulent world of high-flying couple Stephanie and Garrett Jandegian

Daily Mail24-04-2025

A high-flying Sydney couple who had their mansion raided by organised crime detectives have told friends their lavish lifestyle has been bankrolled by family striking it rich in the Texas oilfields.
Heavily armed officers from NSW Police's anti-gang task force executed a no-knock warrant on Garrett and Stephanie Jandegian's multi-storey property in Sydney 's affluent Bellevue Hill on February 6 - breaking down the door of the couple's home.
The raid was conducted as part of Strike Force Candice, a joint investigation between the Organised Crime Squad and the NSW Crime Commission, and was reportedly due to the couple's alleged affiliations with others, who are being pursued as part of a broader investigation.
Police seized a mobile phone and documentation during the February raid, a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
No arrests or charges have been laid against the Jandegians, and there is no suggestion that they are the primary targets of the task force. It is not suggested otherwise, or that Stephanie or Garrett Jandegian committed any wrongdoing.
The raids are the talk of the city's eastern suburbs social set and media circles which have often enviously looked on at the couple's wealthy lifestyle.
Indeed, one news executive at Channel Nine once denied Mrs Jandegian, a well regarded producer, a pay rise due to her expensive car.
Despite the intense spotlight, the couple on Thursday appeared unfazed and were seen jewellery shopping in Sydney's Haymarket before dining at seafood restaurant on Sussex Street.
Her husband Mr Jandegian, originally from San Francisco, is an entrepreneur who co-founded the drinks brand Aqualove, an alkaline water range, in 2017, and is a director of antigen test and personal protective equipment supplier Pharma Soul.
Mr Jandegian left the Aqualove business three years ago after selling his stake in the company.
A source close to the couple said the family has continued to live a high-flying lifestyle, with Mr Jandegian attributing their attributing their ongoing wealth to his family's luck in 'striking oil' in Texas.
Mrs Jandegian is a former dancer who competed on Network Ten's hit reality show So You Think You Can Dance in 2008.
She then went on to forge a career as broadcast journalist at Channel Nine, including a stint as the Sydney bureau chief of Channel 9's A Current Affair program, where she worked alongside her award-winning producer sister, Lauren Golman.
The mother-of-two's upper crust lifestyle often set her apart from colleagues plying their trade at the network.
Not only did Mrs Jandegian's opulent eastern suburbs way of life appear to stand in stark contrast to those of the western suburbs battlers championed by A Current Affair, it also had a tendency to overshadow the station's highest paid stars.
Sources said that one executive once told Mrs Jandegian her that it 'wouldn't sit well' with colleagues to grant her a pay rise, because her car was more expensive than anyone else's on the network's lot - including that of the show's highly paid then-host Tracey Grimshaw.

That decision was ultimately overturned after Nine top brass were made aware of the bizarre rationale, and Mrs Jandegian was awarded a three per cent pay hike.
Not that she appeared to need it, as she and her husband became firm fixtures in the city's society circles.
The millennial couple bought a two-storey home in the elite Sydney eastern suburb of Bellevue Hill that had been on the market with a $27million price tag in 2022.
After settlement, the couple submitted a development application for $7 million worth of alterations and additions.
Some 12 months later, they purchased a nearby four-bedroom Federation-style home for $15.1 million.
They have previously owned property in the ultra-wealthy enclave of Vaucluse and last year dropped $4.2million on an apartment in the redeveloped Sirius building on Sydney Harbour.
The former housing commission block, a divisive brutalist-style building metres from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and with sweeping views of the Opera House, has been transformed into luxury residences.
Meanwhile, their country-style mansion with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a pool and tennis court was formerly owned by ex-ASX chief Dominic Stevens.

The couple, who met in a hotel pool bar in the US in the late 2000s, regularly share photos of their lavish lifestyle on social media.
That includes elaborate birthday and milestone parties they throw for their two children.
The themed parties are understood to cost between $20,000 and $50,000.
In recent years the couple have made multiple trips to Japan visiting DisneyLand and a ski resort, visited Kokomo private island in Fiji, holidays to Queensland and had a luxury staycation at a Sydney hotel.
Their 2014 wedding held at The Four Seasons in Sydney's CBD was rumoured to cost upwards of $1 million dollars with their flowers alone costing $80,000.
On Thursday, bodyguards in blacked-out SUVs sat outside their sprawling mansion as the couple came and went in their Bentley and Porsche vehicles.
Mrs Jandegian's father, Serge Golman, is the general manager of construction company Austral Interiors.
Her mother Vicky, meanwhile, works for a high-end jeweler and can be seen driving around Vaucluse in her Rolls Royce SUV.
Mrs Jandegian studied journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney, while employed at A Current Affair opened a cafe and wine bar in Bondi Junction with her husband-to-be, Lady J Cafe and Bar.
As for her sister Lauren, she made headlines for her own just two years ago after tying the night in a ritzy Tuscan-themed wedding featuring a designer gown by Leah Da Glória, a seven-tier cake and hundreds of well-heeled guests.

Canterbury Bulldogs fans are accused of blocking traffic and harassing motorists in wild video before cops put a stop to celebrations

Jubilant Bulldogs NRL fans who were caught in wild celebrations on social media have been accused of blocking traffic and harassing motorists as they partied after their win over arch-rivals Parramatta on Monday night. Coach Cameron Ciraldo's men continue to be the yardstick of the competition after 14 rounds - and their loyal supporters were in the mood to celebrate after they outclassed the Eels 30-12 at Accor Stadium. The fans are seen packing onto the street at Belmore in Sydney 's south-west in vision uploaded to TikTok and X. A motorbike and then a ute can be seen struggling to move through the sea of fans, the majority decked out in Canterbury's iconic blue and white colours. Daily Mail Australia understands the footage was taken from Burwood Rd in Belmore just before 7pm on Monday. A page on X known as NRL Silverback posted: 'Bulldogs fans are currently blocking traffic, harassing and assaulting motorists trying to drive through the streets. 'All this for beating the team in 2nd last?' It provoked an animated response on social media, with Bulldogs fans feeling the words were provocative. 'They are celebrating a win, nothing wrong with that. You can only beat who the NRL have you to play every week,' said one. A second asked: 'Where's the riot police? A third weighed in with: 'Loving the hate from (other) jealous supporters.' In a statement, NSW Police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia they were at the scene. 'Police were in attendance for crowd control but no issues occurred, there was no damage to property and zero assaults,' the statement read. At Accor Stadium, Lachlan Galvin made his long awaited debut for the Bulldogs, and the teenager became an instant cult hero after scoring a second half try. Galvin warmed the bench for nearly an hour, but once he was thrown into the fray he showed why he is likely to play in the halves for the remainder of 2025. 'When we looked at bringing him in immediately we probably thought he could fill a number of positions and he might be able to do that,' Ciraldo said post game. 'But he is predominantly a half and I thought he did a great job. 'The learning is not over, he has been here a week. He still has a lot to learn. 'But this has been a great start for him, we're really proud of him and he has fitted in great.'

Major update after baffling $150k jewellery robbery at Aussie Olympic great Ian Thorpe's lavish home - despite no signs of a break-in

Fresh details have emerged after it was revealed last week that Australian swimming great Ian Thorpe was the victim of an alleged robbery at his Sydney home. It is understood that the five-time gold medallist has lost valuables worth an estimated $150,000. The former swimmer, 42, reported the missing items to Paddington police station last Thursday and officers have now launched an investigation. Eyebrows had been initially raised over how the items had gone missing after his manager James Erskine told The Sydney Morning Herald last week that there 'seems to be no obvious break-in' at his home. But 2GB's Ben Fordham revealed a fresh twist on the situation on Monday, claiming that police, as part of their investigations are 'examining a removalist company.' 'Ian Thorpe is of the belief that his watches and jewellery went missing during a move and we can see from property records that late last year, Thorpy sold his home in Woollahra in Sydney's eastern suburbs,' Fordham said during a live broadcast on Monday. NSW police are investigating the matter as an alleged robbery and are investigating a removalist as part of their inquiries 'We don't know where he's moved to but when Ian Thorpe was moving his possessions, he believes that some went missing. Watches, jewellery, and some other valuable items. 'He doesn't know how much they're worth. But his best guess is $150,000.' Fordham added: 'We don't have any evidence that they are in any way responsible for the missing items.' Thorpe is due to return to present Channel 9's coverage of the Australian swimming trials at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre later this week. Daily Mail Australia has contacted his agent, James Erskine, for comment. Last week, Erskine also delivered an update on the situation, revealing that none of Thorpe's Olympic medals were missing. But he stated: 'He has had some things stolen from his house - watches, jewellery, some personal items. 'He called up his insurers, they said go and make a police report.' Erskine also told The Sydney Morning Herald that Thorpe was doing 'fine' following the shocking discovery. He adds that the swimmer 'is not too bothered about the material stuff.' Last week, Thorpe cut a dejected figure as he was photographed shopping near his eastern suburbs home on Friday. It came just hours after reports emerged that he was missing several sentimental items. Thorpe, who is Australia's most decorated male Olympic Swimmer, cut a dejected figure as he walked around a supermarket while speaking on the phone. The Australian has not yet publicly commented on the alleged crime. New South Wales, meanwhile, issued a statement last week to confirm that they had commenced an investigation. 'At about 4pm on Thursday, June 5, a 42-year-old man attended Paddington police station to report an alleged theft incident,' NSW Police said in a statement. 'Officers attached to eastern suburbs have commenced an investigation into the alleged incident. The swimming great is understood to have lost around $150,000 following the alleged crime 'There is no further information available at this time.' Thorpe had taken a financial hit last October after the former swimmer was forced to reduce the listing price of his luxury Sydney home from $3.7million to $3.5m He had purchased the four-bed, three-bathroom townhouse in 2017 for $2.75m. The home itself is said to be one of the most stylish and stunning properties in the area, with Thorpe having carried out extensive renovation works to the property. It features open-plan living areas and a beautiful terrace. Thorpe had also previously been the subject of an alleged theft in 2005. It is understood that his Audi TT was broken into while parked in Glebe, in Sydney's inner west. It is understood that thieves stole a watch from the vehicle which was given to Thorpe at the 2004 Athens Olympics. 'The watch that's missing has great sentimental value to me and I would really appreciate it being returned,' Thorpe had said at the time.
