Kim Soo Hyun's Show Knock Off Shoot Stopped Amid Kim Sae-Ron Dating Controversy
Kim Soo Hyun faces backlash for allegedly dating the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. The scandal has halted the shoot of his show Knock Off.
There seems to be no end to the troubles surrounding Kim Soo Hyun. The South Korean star has been accused of dating the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor and is facing a massive backlash for the same. It has been reported that the shoot of Soo Hyun's next show, Knock Off, has also been halted.
If a report by Allkpop is to be believed, the show's production team has formally notified cast and crew to pause all filming activities from April 23, 2025, onwards.
This comes days after it was reported that Knock Off is likely to postpone its release or even cancel the show due to public outrage over its lead actor. 'The release schedule has not been confirmed," a Disney Korea spokesperson had said, as quoted by Koreaboo.com.
The report further added that the sponsors and advertising partners of the show also expressed concerns regarding the ongoing scandal. 'As a company that values youthful energy and innovative branding, we collaborated with Knock-Off in its production. However, this unforeseen scandal has disrupted the project, which is truly regrettable. We will determine our official stance after Disney releases its decision," Park Ki-pyo, CEO of South Korea's first-ever streetwear brand, Safety Zone Korea, said.
Previously, several other brands also cancelled deals with Kim Soo-hyun. Besides this, the actor has also been removed from the reality show Good Day. His scenes from the show have been removed.
For the unversed, Kim Soo Hyun has been accused of dating the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was just a minor. So far, the latter's family has made several allegations against Soo Hyun. However, Kim Soo Hyun recently held a press conference and addressed allegations. He said, 'I'll address the biggest concern—I did not date the deceased when she was a minor. We dated five years ago for about a year, long before Queen of Tears aired."
