Eel River Adventures invites you to an ultimate getaway
BOWLING GREEN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local outdoor attraction hopes you'll join them for summer fun.
Eel River Adventures is located in Bowling Green, and they offer tubing, kayaking and rafting.
They are open Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
General Manager Joshua Bellville describes Eel River Adventures as the ultimate getaway.
'Our area is actually quite unique due to the fact that we have a lot of sandy beaches out here that you can lounge on. Bring your family, your friends, some nice cold drinks and enjoy your time as you float down river, and get to see nature out in the wilderness. You might see a couple big fish you never know, so it's just a time to get away and relax,' said Bellville.
He encourages people to follow them on Facebook to learn more and keep up with their events.

Say goodbye to Monstropolis and hello to Pandora — Disneyland Resort is shuttering its 'Monsters, Inc.' ride to make way for a new 'Avatar' experience inspired by the oceans of James Cameron's sci-fi world. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026 to allow construction to begin on an 'Avatar'-themed land in the Hollywood Backlot area of Disneyland California Resort, Disney announced Thursday. Whereas the 'Avatar'-themed ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida is based on Cameron's first 'Avatar' film, the new Anaheim experience is shaped around the Pandora of 'Avatar: The Way of Water.' Imagineers first announced the 'Avatar' destination at a fan convention last summer, describing it, in true Disney fashion, as 'dynamic, intense and an emotional experience on a grand scale.' Official details on what the attraction will entail and a timeline for construction remain under wraps. Concept imagery shared on the Disney Parks Blog shows guests aboard a boat traveling through a bioluminescent lagoon and encountering a massive whale-like creature called a Tulkun that leaps from the ocean — hinting at the possibility of a water-based ride. The closure of the 'Monsters, Inc.' ride, which opened in 2006, marks the end of an era for fans of the Pixar classic. The family-friendly ride took guests on a fast-paced journey through the streets of Monstropolis, re-creating scenes from the original 2001 film as guests raced to help monsters Mike and Sulley rescue their human friend Boo. In addition to creating the 'Avatar' experience, the resort is working on a new 'Coco'-themed attraction, two new 'Avengers' attractions and a parking structure. Disney announced Thursday that construction on the 'Coco' adventure was set to begin in the fall. 'The attraction will be filled with the characters — and music! — you know and love from the beloved movie, as you join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead,' said Disney in a blog post. 'This marks the first-ever 'Coco' ride in a Disney park!' No timeline is available for the construction of the attractions in the Avengers Campus at Disneyland California Adventure. The new parking structure will be built on the east side of Disneyland Resort and provide around 6,000 parking spaces as well as shuttle and rideshare areas. A pedestrian bridge will be added to connect Harbor Boulevard to the transportation hub. 'This is just the beginning of exciting growth here at Disneyland Resort,' Disney said in a blog post. 'We look forward to sharing more about all of these projects in the future.'

Dolly Parton opens Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – After a year and a half of construction, Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show is now open in Panama City Beach. This is their biggest of Dolly Parton's 3-Pirates Voyage attractions, with seating for more than 1,000 people. Parton says she thought Panama City Beach was the perfect place to open a new location. 'We know this is a great vacation spot and this is a wonderful place to come have supper because kids will be hungry after that, maybe they'll sleep good too after they had a good meal and been entertained,' Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show Founder Dolly Parton said. Pirates Voyage will host up to four shows a day, where performers battle each other on a stage that consists of floating pirate ships. Buccaneer Bay Lagoon is where the action takes place. Pirates from the sapphire and crimson teams battle each other across the stage. They are joined by Captain Blackbeard and Salty the Sea Lion. 'You'll pick your side, and then we'll have competitions to see who is going to win Davy Jones's treasure,' Captain Blackbeard said. And everyone gets involved. 'Even your server, who is bringing you the fabulous four-course feast, gets involved in the show. Still kind of have to watch and see what your server is doing when they're part of Blackbeard's crew,' Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show PR Manager Ellen Liston said. The attraction has already created 300 jobs in the area. Parton says performers come from all over to be a part of the show. 'We literally have folks from all over the country, as a matter of fact, all over the world. And they kind of keep track of people that do these kinds of things. So we're just so proud to have all these great performers, and they are so talented,' Parton added. Pirates Voyage added another show that will start at 8:30 on Thursday night. 70 percent of students from Equatorial Guinea have overstayed visas in US: Ambassador
The majority of international students from Equatorial Guinea have overstayed their visas in the United States, according to David Gilmour, the U.S. ambassador to Equatorial Guinea. 'Unfortunately, many Equatoguineans travel to the United States to study and for tourism and they remain in the country beyond the validity of their visa. Seventy percent of Equatoguinean students have overstayed their visas. Some 22 percent of tourists and business travelers have not respected the limit of their permission to stay,' Gilmour said in a Thursday morning statement on the social media platform X. 'Those Equatoguineans who have not respected U.S. immigration law are causing a problem that has restricted the travel of their fellow citizens,' Gilmour said, adding that if 'you know someone who is presently in the United States without a valid visa, tell them to return to Equatorial Guinea immediately.' Gilmour's statement came less than 24 hours after President Trump signed a proclamation that fully bans nationals of a dozen countries from entering the U.S., including Equatorial Guinea. The other countries included in the Wednesday order are Afghanistan, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. The order also partially restricts entry for nationals from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. Trump penned an executive order on his first day in the Oval Office in January that advocated for bolstered screening and vetting of migrants who are coming into the U.S., pointing to national security concerns. The president has also forcefully cracked down on illegal immigration since taking office and curbed the flow of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump's Wednesday proclamation included exceptions for nationals mentioned on the list who are lawful permanent residents of the U.S., current visa holders and people 'whose entry serves U.S. national interests.' Gilmour referenced those exceptions Thursday morning. 'The order does not affect Equatorial Guinea government officials traveling to the United States on government business, or lawful permanent residents of the United States,' the ambassador said. He added that the U.S., 'like Equatorial Guinea and other countries, takes decisive measures to protects its borders and to prevent the illegal presence of foreigners on its territory.'
