The exchange took place over a video call shortly before Amir Nazir Wani was killed in an encounter in Pulwama
A video clip has emerged showing a conversation between Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Amir Nazir Wani and his mother, during which she pleaded with him to surrender to the security forces.
The exchange took place over a video call shortly before Wani was killed in an encounter in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
In the clip, which has since gone viral on social media, Wani is seen holding an AK-47 while speaking with his mother. It was their final conversation.
'Please surrender," his mother could be heard pleading, but Wani refused, replying, 'Let the army come forward, then I will see."
The video call was made from the house where Wani was hiding before the gunfight broke out. Alongside his mother, Wani's sister also spoke to him.
During the call, he also spoke with the sister of another terrorist, Asif Ahmed Sheikh, who was also killed in the same encounter.
The terrorists were identified as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani, and Yawar Ahmed Bhat – all linked to the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed, according to sources.
Following the encounter, J&K Inspector General of Police VK Birdi said that authorities are investigating whether the slain terrorists were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April.

"No Help, No Empathy": Ola Faces Backlash After Noida Woman's Bike Accident

Ola, a popular ride-hailing platform, is facing intense backlash online after a disturbing incident involving one of its bike rides. Siddhi Vijayvargia, a Noida-based woman, allegedly suffered a major fracture in her left arm due to negligent driving by the rider on April 22. The incident was highlighted by Pratyush Singh, a Senior Brand Manager at DigiWhistle and a colleague of Ms Vijayvargia, through a LinkedIn post. Mr Singh shared photos and screenshots of the ride, accusing Ola of lacking accountability and sparking widespread outrage. "My colleague Siddhi Vijayvargia recently went through something no one should. She met with a serious accident while riding an OLA Bike, due to negligent driving by the rider. The result? A major fracture in her left arm, multiple surgeries, over ₹3 lakhs in medical expenses. All of this, because of someone else's recklessness," he wrote in the post. Pratyush Singh alleged that Ola failed to take action despite promises of help, instead responding with delays, ignorance, and vague responses over several months. He criticised the company for lacking concrete support, empathy, and accountability. Mr Singh also questioned Ola's lack of support, tagging the company and its CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, and emphasising that the issue goes beyond financial compensation. He highlighted that Siddhi, who trusted Ola's platform, is now struggling to receive basic support, transparency, and compensation after the incident disrupted her life. "This isn't just about money, this is about basic human decency. When someone places trust in your platform, and that trust is shattered, the least you can do is stand by them when things go wrong. Ola, & Bhavish Aggarwal, is this how you treat victims of your riders' negligence? Where's the support? Where's the responsibility? Siddhi didn't ask for this trauma. She didn't expect her life to come to a halt. And now she's forced to fight for what should've been automatically extended to her - support, care, and rightful reimbursement," he added. Reacting to the LinkedIn post, Ola Cabs Support wrote, 'We want to ensure that this matter is properly addressed and we empathise with how distressing it may have been for are actively working on the details you have provided and will connect with you at the earliest. Your patience is deeply appreciated." Mr Singh wasn't satisfied with Ola's response, calling it a template reply and urging the company to take concrete and prompt action rather than just providing lip service. The incident has once again raised concerns about safety and accountability in app-based bike rides.

3 minor girls raped in Goa's Calangute; guest house owner, manager among 4 held

Police have arrested the owner and the manager of a guest house in North Goa district where three minor girls were allegedly raped by two men, taking the number of those held in the case to four, officials said on Thursday. The girls, aged 11, 13 and 15 and residents of the same building, were allegedly raped by two men at the guest house located in Calangute area on June 7 and 8. The five had checked-in at the guest house together, they said. The two older girls are sisters. The girls' parents filed complaints on June 8 that they had gone missing a day earlier. Police formed multiple teams, and rescued them on the same day from the guest house while arresting Altaf Mujawar (19) and Om Naik (21), an official earlier said. Two more persons - guest house owner Rajat Chauhan (31) and manager Mansoor Peer (35) - were arrested on Wednesday night, Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta told PTI on Thursday. They were arrested for accommodating the minor girls at the guest house without verification and consent of their parents, thus violating laws and abetting the crime, he said. All the four accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Goa Children's Act, the police said. "We are sealing the guest house and moving for cancellation of its license. The guest house management and owners will not be spared if they give room to a child in the absence of any family or relatives accompanying him or her," the SP said, cautioning all such facilities in the state.

‘Kamakhya visit before consummation of marriage': Cops say Sonam used temple ruse to lure husband Raja Raghuvanshi to northeast

Raja Raghuvanshi from Indore was killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His wife, Sonam, allegedly planned the murder with her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha. They hired three contract killers. NEW DELHI: Raja Raghuvanshi, the Indore-based businessman murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, had been convinced by his wife Sonam to delay consummating the marriage until after a ritual offering at the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati — a ruse investigators now say was part of a sinister plot to lure him to the Northeast and have him killed in a remote location. 'Sonam told Raja that they should first visit the Kamakhya Devi Temple and offer prayers before consummating the marriage,' a senior investigating officer told PTI on Wednesday. The couple got married in Indore on May 11 and travelled to the Northeast on May 20, reaching Meghalaya via Guwahati. They checked out of a homestay in Nongriat village on May 23 and then disappeared — prompting Raja's family to raise an alert. Ten days later, on June 2, Raja's body was found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls in Sohra. The case has since unravelled as a premeditated murder allegedly orchestrated by Sonam in connivance with her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha and three hired contract killers. Sonam, who initially went missing after the murder, resurfaced in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and surrendered on June 9. Her boyfriend and the three hitmen — Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi — were arrested soon after. According to investigators, Sonam pushed for the trip to Nongriat — a remote jungle area accessible only by trekking — hoping the murder would be easier to execute there. But the plan was delayed due to heavy tourist presence on May 22 and 23. 'They ultimately killed Raja near Weisawdong Falls and dumped his body into a gorge,' said the officer. East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem, who is leading the investigation, said the contract killers arrived in Guwahati on May 21, a day after the couple reached the Northeast. They bought a machete near their hotel before heading to Shillong by road. 'Sonam stayed in touch with Raj throughout the day of the murder, while Raj coordinated with the three killers. She was present at the spot when Raja was killed,' said SP Syiem. After the murder, Sonam fled from Mawkdok to Shillong in a local taxi, then hired a tourist cab to Guwahati, from where she boarded multiple trains to avoid detection. 'While she claims to have returned to Indore directly, we are still verifying this route,' the officer added. The Meghalaya Police SIT is now piecing together the full timeline of events and has already gathered CCTV evidence and mobile data to support the investigation. 'We are also verifying Sonam's claim that she had never been to Meghalaya before. The SIT is committed to filing a watertight chargesheet,' an officer said. All five accused — Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three contract killers — have been produced before a court in Shillong and remain in police custody.
